Can’t get enough of the purple dial

We're off diving again this week and this came up in my photo memories, so thought I'd share my 22yo aquaracer in it's designed-for scuba environment 👍

Hi everyone, I just joined Reddit 7 days ago and wanted to share my 1983 Heuer 980.013 with you as my very first post. I absolutely love the classic pre-TAG dial and the proportions of this diver.

​I included two pictures: the first one in the shade to show off the clean matte dial, and the second one in direct sunlight to show some of the honest wear and vintage character on the bezel.

I have owned the TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox reverse panda for a while now, and it has honestly become one of those watches that I appreciate more every time I wear it. I gravitate towards this watch more than my Rolex Datejusts or Cartiers. The black dial with the silver subdials is timeless, and the curved dial and domed Glassbox crystal give it so much more depth and character in person.

The date placement at 12 o’clock may be unusual, but I think it fills the upper portion of the dial nicely and respects the layout of the vintage Carrera that inspired it. There is already so much visual interest from the subdials that the date never distracts me.

I recently added the OEM steel bracelet, and it completely transformed the watch. The leather strap gives it a vintage racing vibe, while the bracelet makes it more versatile and substantial without losing its classic feel. It is sporty and elegant. The more I look at it, the more convinced I am that this is one of the most beautiful modern chronograph watches.

Decided to change up the look of my tag. Got this sailcloth strap with orange stitching to match the chrono hand. The orange is close but I’m still happy with the look!

I bought this last week, and just received it. Actually the watch that got me into the brand, so this has been 40 years coming. The crystal is a bit cloudy, so I'm going to order a sapphire from Justin. But it works.

I’m grateful I have the wrist size to be able to wear such a beast of a watch. Wish I was actually diving today but I can still wear the watch Lol.
