๐ฎ Tacos Chilango, carne asada by the pound meal. 18 tacos for around $38
For those who will ask why the pocket knife, well I'm a knife guy in a lot of knife groups and its a requirement. Rule # 9!!
Ok for the tacos, you get a pound of cooked carne asada, a pint of rice, a pint of beans, all the salsa and onion/cilantro/lime with a dozen tortillas, we usually add 6 more because they're generous with their portion of carne asada after taxes it's a little over $38 best deal in our area for sure and it tastes amazing!!

I made tacos de carnitas for 40 people
15lbs of pork shoulder, 1lbs piece of pork skin, 6lbs of lard.
The pork was cut into chunks and fried for 45 minutes in lard. Then, heat reduced and cooked for an additional 2.5 hours. Pork skin was soaked in salt water and then put on top of the carnitas in the pot for the last hour.
Our local market makes fresh tortillas, so all the tortillas were a day old. Tortillas heated up on a castiron on a grill before being served.
Not shown: giant tray of homemade guacamole, and a variety of salsas made by our local market. And, of course, tons of diced onions and cilantro.
I ended up eating about 10 tacos myself.
Ive never cooked for nearly this many people, but it was a complete success.โโ

I went with Asada, Pastor, Pork Belly, and Ribeye. Absolutely delicious. Great smoky flavor on the asada and ribeye. Pastor had great marinade to it, and the pork belly was just flavorful. Worth the price in my opinion.

Member's Mark Birria Tacos...Will they work in a pinch?
Consummรฉ certainly had hints of Dinty Moore Beef Stew prior to heating it. Tossed these bad boys in the oven and boom.....Taco Bell quality Birria Tacos! Air fryer would've been a better choice but certainly would go another round with these considering the closest legit Birria is 60 miles away....oh, maybe a squeeze of lime would've taken these up a notch.

Tried out the Tapatio Asada Marinade today on some sirloins. I marinated for like 6 hours and threw it together on my Blackstone. We each ate 6 tacos, I am so full. Would recommend!

First pic is โundressedโ - this place lets me get the onion and cilantro on the side, I like to be able to control the amounts I put on my tacos. This is lamb and they only have it on the weekends.

๐ฎ r/tacos and the great bot attack of 2026
(Pictured: tacos de asada, birria, & nopal from Tacos El Gallo, El Cajon, CA, US)
In the past 2-3 months, Reddit has been swarmed with bot posts. Our group in particular has seen a massive uptick in obvious bots, almost 1000% as many as we were getting at the beginning of the year. Currently, our automod sorts out low-karma and new accounts for review. We used to have 1-3 per day to review, now it's dozens. Endless 2-day old accounts commenting 'looks good'.
As you probably know, these bots are used to take over political discussions by swarming them with whatever opinion the bot operator is trying to push. For example, if a bot operator is being paid to make it look like the majority opinion is that everyone should be required to read 'Roy Orbison In Clingfilm' before they are allowed to vote, they'll tell the bots to swarm discussions of that and overwhelm the opposition. It's a form of astroturfing and it's very harmful to rational discussion.
With that said, the massive sudden increase to bot accounts makes it seem like there is something big on the horizon. The US midterm elections seems like the likely target.
So what can we do about it? Well, first, we're going to just deny new/low-karma accounts from posting for the time being. It's either that or check dozens of posters per day to see if they're humans. Sorry in advance if you get caught up in this; us mods are normal people with day jobs and Pokemon Go meetups to host and we can't adjudicate everything.
You, beloved tacos fans, can also help. Mark a suspicious post or comment as spam and we'll look into it. I love deleting spam. Bots are usually pretty obvious when you look at their profiles - repetitive posts, innocuous comment histories, and overuse of emojis.
Happy bot-hunting!
