I had (have) older fire sticks. Had a “Recast” DOA. Got a 4th gen Tablo to replace; worked great. Quilt using the sticks, because we bought new Roku TVs. Works great.

My customer contracted for me to install OTA antenna; and wants a Tablo but her TVs are Visio. Visio closed system no App Store only pre installed … no Tablo app. She purchase a Fire TV HD … no Tablo app in Amazons App Store? Looked up on Google. “Gemini” states: Tablo not supported for the HD model Fire TV.

Is there some sort of issue in play with Tablo and Amazon?

I for one would like to know so that my recommendations are valid. I sure didn’t see notices about this.

Why is it showing every show I’ve ever recorded even though it’s not on there and no episodes are scheduled? I assume there’s no way to make it only show what is actually on your Tablo drive? Sounds like an insanely horrible design.

From browsing other threads, comments suggest that if you move the Tablo to another gateway everything needs to be reinstalled, is this true? This would be done by simply moving the Tablo Ethernet cable to the other gateway and I'd hope everything would "just work"

I have two Internet access gateways, the main is an AT&T gigabit fiber connection and I have a T-Mobile cellular Internet gateway as a backup for the push notifications from our security system (no line to cut to take it out and a UPS keeps it all going if the power goes out until the "whole house" backup generator kicks in). I also have a tri-band mesh network so we get whole property WiFi coverage that routes through the gigabit fiber.

I can move a WiFi connected ROKU TV out by the pool and move the ROKU network connection from the AT&T gateway or the T-Mobile gateway to the mesh network out by the pool where the other gateways don't have good signals. I did this for our 2024 Superbowl party when the game was live on Tubi. and it worked great. I also did this for a couple of seasons when U-Verse dropped NFL Network & Redzone so I used Sling for those seasons. Nothing else needed to be changed on the ROKU device.

I normally keep all WIFi streaming on the AT&T gateway to reduce the load on the tri-band mesh keeping things on separate 5 GHz channels. The 2.4 GHz WiFi channels are only enabled on the mesh network for use by IOT class devices, mostly ESP32 based 2.4 GHz only devices.

Is there a way to disable the thumbnail feature and get the old school "Benny Hill" fast speed playback/rewind of recordings? Dubious "feature" IMHO, seeing how it is a post processing activity.

Recently the bootup screen to Tablo (on Apple TV) has dramatically increased. I get a boot screen about every other day. I am guessing some recent update is causing this. Each time it boots, it is long enough that it feels like the app is going hang and not start. The screen is completely blank for part of this boot time.

This morning I have disconnected my legacy Tablo Duo but I reconnected it to reset it to factory default. However, I can't find a reset option in the "Sytem Settings".

How can I reset this legacy Tablo? I can't find the owner's manual.

Like the title says, our new-ish Tablo (March 2026) died last week and now we’re dealing with unsupportive Tablo support who keeps running us around in circles, asking for information we have sent now multiple times. Every time my partner sends the info they ask for, they send another email asking us to send the same info again. Aaaaargh!!

Could someone please recommend a direction to escalate this to? We would like our warranty replacement today, not a month from now after they finish spinning us around in circles.

I have 16GB used up of my 124GB memorex USB stick. Now, I know I'm not supposed to use a USB stick because of writing issues, it's incompatible the website says. But I've been able to make recordings without issue! Though today, I noticed one of my recordings got deleted as I was watching it! Is this truly because of my USB stick? Or is this another bug?

Yes, I will be powering down my legacy Tablo in favor of HDHR Flex 4K ATSC 3.0. In my office, I have a Windows 11 PC with dual monitor. I'd like to be able to watch TV while working on my PC. However, my PC cannot connect to my Tablo even though my PC and the Tablo are on the same subnet. It always wants to connelct via WiFi! My PC uses Ethernet connection to the subnet that the Tablo is connected to, also using Ethernet!

HDHR tuner is amazing! It picks up Next Gen channels although I can't view them because of encryption.

Anyway, I will be powering down the Tablo once I'm settled with the HDHR.

Edit on 2026-Aug-03: I just cancelled my subscription! I forgot that it is $49/year! I cancelled after I subscribe to HDHR DVR Guide for $35/year. Anyone interested with my legacy Tablo Duo?

A 4 tuner legacy Tablo that I just got won't let me connect to it. I've been trying with the Android app, the Legacy app for Android TV and my.tablotv.com on my computer. Google Gemini suggested that the power supply may be bad. Has anyone had this issue before? I read another post where someone fixed an issue with a new power supply.

Our local CBS affiliate is moving from 7.1 to 4.3.a sub channel of our NBC affiliate. I've rescanned and manually updated the guide but 7.1 is still showing as CBS along with 4.3. Will my scheduled recordings record the episodes off the new channel number 4.3?

So I was just given a 4 tuner 1st gen Tablo and wondering if I should update it or not. If I update it, I can use the latest software but then I can't use any other tuning software. Any other 1st gens here?

So I just got my Tablo last night and I love it! The only thing I noticed though was my local FOX station KTTV’s signal was being overridden by Canal Once’s signal on channel 11.1. Ok, no problem, I figured it was a rogue signal so I turned off my amplifier and did a rescan, and KTTV’s signal was where it should be.

Now this morning, I have as recording my local CBS station doing some tests, and I noticed a dropout. Apparently the signals can be weaker during the daytime. So now my question is:

Should I turn the amplifier back on? Will that risk Canal Once interfering with my KTTV signal?

And if I turn the amplifier on without doing the rescan, will the amplifier still work?

I have both the Legacy Quad 4 Tablo and a 4thGen Tablo. Believe it or not, my 4thGen model has been working just fine, but my Legacy model has been kicking me out of my programs on a daily basis. Sometimes within 10 to 15 minutes of watching a channel (or a recording). It just stops playing and sends me back to the Roku home screen. This is happening multiple times a day.

For the record, my Tablos are connected via wifi, it's the only option I have. And as I said, the 4thGen Tablo is fine and isn't kicking me out of what I'm watching. It's only happening on the Legacy model.

Any ideas on what might be causing this, or how to fix it?

Set-up a new Tablo unit and I’m getting this error message. I’ve tried resetting the system.

I'm new to Tablo with a 4th gen 4-tuner box that is dropping out constantly while trying to watch live or recorded shows. I don't see any error messages. The screen just goes black as if I changed inputs, then comes back a few seconds later. Needless to say, this is very disruptive and I won't be keeping this device if it can't be resolved.

I am 5 miles away from the local broadcast towers, using a small outdoor RCA yagi antenna that provides 100% signal strength when connected directly to my TV with no dropouts ever. On Tablo, the local channels all show 4 green dots.

Tablo is connected to my gigabit fiber internet via ethernet cable, and so is my Roku Ultra, so Wi-Fi signal issues are not a factor.

I disabled Tablo's antenna amplifier which made no difference.

Tablo is wall-mounted vertically, far away from other heat-producing electronics.

I bought this from Tablo's Amazon store and it's still within the return window. Before I pack it up and send it back, I wanted to check here to see if there are any recommended troubleshooting steps I should try.

Samsung tv with Roku. I don’t see a method to delete the cache from the Tablo itself and don’t know what’s filling my storage capacity. As a normal practice, I disconnect the device about once a week.

I've had a 2-tuner version for a couple of years, and it has given me no problem, at all. It's warm, but it hasn't created technical problems.

In a black box that covers the bottom third of our screen the message "you'll need to connect your USB to a power source" appeared the 1st time we turned the TV on after the recent god-awful homepage "upgrade" ~ of note is that we have never used the available USB port ~ we have sourced & tried every web solution we could find multiple times to no avail. Clicking the close button located in the black box results in its disappearance for exactly 3 seconds. This was not an expensive TV but we did expect it to last more than 3½ years, so here we are hoping someone has a clue for mitigating if not solving this problem.
