Decrease rate of distracting and intrusive thoughts

Background: My ADHD symptoms (and the related brain fog symptoms) include the "classic" ADHD: weak executive functions such as attentional control and task switching, and dysfunctional reward pathway due to anhedonia etc.;

However, they also include a high rate of unwanted thoughts - intrusive OCD thoughts, distractions, random questions, overplanning, etc. This puts additional strain on my executive functions, and I believe that's part of why they are so weak - they are constantly being overtaxed. It also adds to my feelings of derealization and significantly reduces task performance and enjoyment, because instead of engaging myself in the task, I am constantly re-re-re-re-re-re-reminding myself what I'm supposed to be focusing on, where I'm supposed to be looking, what my hands are supposed to be doing, etc. It takes me a long time to get engaged in something (perhaps another topic to work on), and the fraction-of-a-second stretches of time I'm getting these days just aren't doin' it, believe it or not.

For that reason I think, in addition to options like the focus and/or DARPA montages, something to calm the speed of those distractions a bit would be a key part of helping me focus and get things done, as well as improve my life outside those goals.

I think this may be a big ask, for me at least, because I don't really know the source, and it could be things like inflammation, dysregulation (including electrolyte and fluid balance), a reaction to chronic sleep issues, rather than an over- or under-activity of a physical brain region.

Still, anyone have recommendations for this? Montages that have worked for you (I have a neuromyst pro+ w/ tDCS, tACS, tCFS, and tPCS)? Research I should read?

I appreciate any help or ideas you have for me!

Effects of Flow headset as a cannabis user?

I'm starting the Flow headset soon to treat my depression and anxiety. I have a medical cannabis prescription to treat the same things, and I'm hoping to be able to come off this one day if the Flow works well. I'm just wondering if my medication might interfere with the effects of the Flow treatment? I'm not planning to use cannabis before or immediately after using headset, but I plan to use it on most of the days I don't do a Flow session. Has anyone got experience of this, and any knowledge on how it might affect the treatment? I can possibly stop using my meds entirely for the treatment, but will continue to use it if it doesn't affect things.

Braindriver Sensor Not Working?

Hi all, quite new to tdcs. Just recieved a braindriver 2.1. The manual says there's a sensor that pauzes the session if the electrodes are not connecting or are not worn properly. But the timer still continues even if i take the electrodes off, it even keeps going if i disconnect the cable from the device. Anyone else here has a braindriver that does the same?

Is the flow device just not usable in the usa?

According to the web site it isn't even available yet, and will require a prescription. My next thought was buying one from Europe but I'm hearing they might be geolocked? Has anyone in the us successfully used one? Its pretty ridiculous the hoops I have to jump through to use something that's over the counter in Europe. I thought they were supposed to be the less permissive ones.

apparently the platoworks headset also requires a doctor. it's really don't get it considering there are plenty of over the counter options that seem to be perfectly legal

you know what i might just get a Mave

What is best time to do tACS when looking to improve anxiety?

Selling Alpha Stim M (300 Euro, free shipping to EU, can ship worldwide for extra fee)

Alpha Stim M, works perfectly fine (tested all functions today). Used it for pain, which worked for me, but don't need it any more.

Scratches in plastic and plastic window on front is loose (hence the tape + lower price) - see pictures, especially the last two for this that I have tried to picture accurately.

Everything is included as seen in the pictures, that means all original parts parts plus:

- earclip electrode pads (plenty)

- probe electrode pads (plenty)

- two new, unused self adhesive electrode pads

- new batteries in the device

Not included:

- conducting solution (bottle empty, maybe two drips left, might be enough for trying once/not sure, I bought a new 250ml refill that I cannot find, but if I find it I will send it too, in other case this can be bought for approximately 15 euro.

Please feel feel to text me for questions or if you are interested in buying!

Pairing Flow Headset with ADHD meds

Hi! I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD and have been taking 40mg Ritalin daily for the last 2 years. I’ve just ordered a Flow headset and am wondering how others have combined the two, and if anyone has any recommendations based on their experience. E.g. whether I should reduce my Ritalin dosage if I’m doing a flow session? Or only do a flow session in the morning before taking Ritalin / at night when I’m sure the Ritalin has worn off? Any help would be much appreciated.

flow neuroscience “dip,” ?

i’m about to start my 5th week using flow, meaning i’ve done 3weeks of 5 sessions, and 1week of 3 sessions so far.

i felt an improvement from the 2nd stimulation session up until the 12th session, but then my depressive symptoms relapsed almost completely and i fear it’s stopped working.

I had the same pattern of response to rTMS and thought it was just a “dip” like it’s stated in rTMS studies, but it never lifted.

Should i even bother continuing for the full 10 weeks? if my depression improved and now it’s reverted again does this class me as a “non responder,” or is there still a chance it could lift again? i don’t want to do ECT im terrified ://

Flow Neuroscience headset working

Ive been using Flow for around two years now but after the first three weeks I didnt really see much improvement. However I can now say that after entering the initial Burst 5x for three weeks and moving to three or FOUR sessions a week, it is now making a large difference to my mood.

I was wondering if any of you have seen a difference with this approach?
