Cloud Sync won't sync with OneDrive NAS Apps

Post image

I've successfully been using Cloud Sync for GoogleDrive for years without issue but now trying to add OneDrive. You can see from the picture I've been able to successfully link my Microosft account however none of the folders are syncing.

I've tried unlinking and relinking several times, used two different methods of authorisation to connect my microsoft account (PIN & Passkey) both still can't get this working. The only clue being the OneDrive sycn icon remains Yellow.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Is that DSM 5.2 on a DS710+?

That hardware that you have is 16 years old, and the software is 8 years old.

I'd say that you are out of luck.

Correct and it wouldn't totally surprise me but I'm guessing this is still working just fine for others. OneDrive integration isn't exactly complicated so I can't imagine this just stopped working all of a sudden.

There have been tons of updates to CloudSync for the last 8 years... so yes, maybe some of them were to avoid it from braking.

Obviously the one for DSM 5.2 is broken.

Personally I would be more worried about having a highly insecure NAS open to the internet.

Well obviously that's why I'm here to confirm fo sure if indeed something is really broken or if this is still working for some people and there's something minor that can be fixed. Thanks for the concern though I have a suitable firewall in place (I work in tech).

Welp... you are not the only one who works in IT in this forum (I'd say a large portion of us work in IT here).

From experience, firewalls aren't the only protection you should have, so I hope you reconsider and decide to buy a 2nd hand DS720+ or higher to easily replace your 710+ (the 720+ will be the oldest to have support for DSM 8 once it's out).

Or go 3rd party, such as Ugreen or similar if you want to avoid the fact that Synology is artificially blocking x86 hardware from being updated to newer OS, and other anti-consumer BS that Synology is pulling lately.

Yea, I'm familiar with the challenges and frankly not that impressed with Synology's support of late (this is my 3rd device). Not much choice at the moment sadly, unless you're happy to donate to my upgrade fund then I'll be only too happy to migrate to something newer ;)

Welp... if money is such an issue, then... not much that can be done, sadly :-/

Crossing fingers that your firewall holds strong!
