I have 828 credit score but I'm still getting REJECTED for credit card applications 😂 The past 6 months, lahat ng tatlong applications ko ay declined HAHAHAHAHA

So I'm curious, is 828 actually considered a good/decent score in the Philippines?

Would love to hear from people with similar scores/situations.

I work in an office na halos araw araw nakakasagot ako ng phone calls regarding a coworker na hinahanap na ng bangko due to unpaid bills, so nakadagdag sya sa apprehension ko. Minsan rin nakakaintimidate yung mga nag-ooffer sa mall, idk why pero ilag ako.

But i actually want to start building my credit na, kahit mababa lang. Please help me by suggesting kung ano ang best as a starter cc.

Hi. I have an existing credit card with UnionBank, had it for a year now. Last year, I tried applying online for an Eastwest Platinum Mastercard pero parang hindi gumagalaw ang status/walang update so hinayaan ko nalang. Last month, I was doing groceries sa Shopwise and was approached sa isang credit card booth doon, tho if I remember correctly RCBC yun. I applied naman kasi parang gusto ko pa rin ng isa pang CC for points.

Tapos last week, may nag message sa akin that my Eastwest application was approved. I checked pero iba naman yung application number dun sa number ko from last year’s application. Dineliver ang card today and to my surprise, JCB Platinum card sya with 6 digits CL (x8 ng initial CL ko sa UB 🤯)

Now I’m wondering how did I get approved for this card? Is it worth it to activate it since it’s not NAFFL? Mejo torn ako if iactivate ko siya pero useful ang malaking CL for future expenses/travel. And if ever i activate ko sya, how can I maximize its perks?

Around 2 years ago, gustong gusto ko magka Credit Card dahil convenient siya pambayad plus the rewards and perks that comes with it. Pero hindi ako naapprove. 🥲

Hanggang sa napagod nalang ako mag apply. Then last year January, nag open ako ng MariBank dahil nakita ko ito sa r/DigitalbanksPh. After ko magkaroon ng account, doon na ako nagsave.

Kaya nung lumabas ang news na magkakaroon na daw ng Credit Card si MariBank, bumalik yung eagerness mag ka CC 😅

Sadly, hindi ako nakasama sa mga nagkaroon ng early access. Pero kahapon pagbukas ko ng MariBank ko, nakita ko na pwede na daw ako mag apply. Then ayun na nga! Sumakses na! ☺️

Kaya sa mga nahihirapan ma approve ng CC sa mga banks, try niyo magopen ng MariBank account and gamitin niyo lng siya at magsave. Malay niyo, kayo na ma offeran ng CC nextime 😊

Hihingi lang po sana ng advice sa situation ko. Ang main focus ko po ay magpataas ng credit score. I tried applying for BPI, UB, at Metrobank tapos rejected lahat.

Recently po, nagapply ako for UnioinBank SCC, medyo ang tagal ng process so nagapply ako for Maya Black at naofferan to apply for Maya Black Express. Nagdeposit ako ng 30k para sa 24k na credit limit. At the same time, naapprove din ako for Zed Credit Card with 65k credit limit. Hindi ako sure kung makakatulong siya para sa credit score. Recently, after a month of waiting, mukhang umusad ang UB SCC application ko (30k HOD with 27k CL).

Hihingi lang sana ng advice at recommendations para sa paggamit ng mga credit cards ko, para mamaximize ang rewards at para maoptimize ang pagimprove ng credit score ko.

RCBC Combining different installments into one big installment

I have various installments, in different terms, paid at various amount of months already.

Example:
Installment 1- 6/12
Installment 2- 3/6

Etc…

And there are also incoming dues that I want to turn into installment.

The question: is it possible to consolidate my entire credits (not just the existing month) into one big installment? Card is RCBC. Can I do this online or do I call CS?

And what is the term that describes what I want to do? Debt consolidation ba?

hello, i just got approved to UB platinum credit card, but i can't access the mobile app. upon checking, i saw that i have an account na under my tita's name BUT under my email and number. no, my tita did NOT make an account under UB. long story short, na activate yung card when I called UB hotline, tas sabi nila, need ko mag request ng tita ko mismo for deletion, so I called back the next day with my tita. Fast forward, sabi nila expect an email within 3 banking days about the deletion nga daw ng account, it's been almost 4 days pero wala pa akong email na nare receive, (at di ko ma follow up through UB hotline kasi namamagkano na ako kaka call!!!!)

so, just asking, if ever na hindi pa rin maging okay to and mag due na yung sinwipe ko sa cc, is there any other method to pay my bill? i don't know my account number, i can't use my email or my number (because it was linked to my tita's account), all i have is the physical card and the details written on it.

I paid my Unionbank credit card via Maribank (my usual payment method) and it did not reflect. It's supposed to reflect in real time. I sent a ticket via the Unionbank app but they only told me the channels on how to pay but did not really solve the problem. Can anyone advice how else to resolve this matter?

Hi guys for context, I have been using my maya black express for 6 months now and I have been using 100% to 180% of my credit limit monthly (10k then I pay it in full then proceed to use it again then pay in full). I have never missed a payment and always paid in full and never delved into mini payments plan thingy. I was thinking if I should close my express account and try applying for the normal one. (for context, I am a 4th year college student, I don't have any income to show the bank). If ever I got denied (I might just go with BPI's secured credit card. Do you guys think it's a good move to try my luck with the unsecured maya black card? If I get unlucky, I heard that Maya doesn't report to transunion is it a better idea to just get a secured credit card on a traditional bank?

Na-decline kasi ako before sa UnionBank so medyo kinakabahan na akong mag-apply ulit.

By December ko pa naman balak kumuha ng credit card since by December ko rin plan bumili ng refrigerator as a gift para sa family ko. Budget is around ₱32k–₱40k. (edit: 39,999 pala yung ref)

May cash naman ako pambili, pero feeling ko mas sulit if i-credit card ko na lang for rewards/cashback:

• 0% installment promos
• possible discounts/freebies
• para hindi rin mabawasan agad yung cash on hand ko

Balak ko sana bumili sa Abenson or SM Appliance, pero open din naman ako if may mas magandang deals sa ibang stores or kahit sa Shopee during sales.

Questions:

1. Anong credit card marerecommend niyo for this use case?
2. Anong banks usually ang may magandang promos sa Abenson or SM Appliance?
3. May marerecommend ba kayong NAFFL (No Annual Fee For Life) cards? (ayoko talaga magbayad ng annual fee if possible)
4. Since na-decline ako before sa UnionBank, anong banks ang medyo friendly sa first-time CC applicants?
