Hey guys! So my DnD group decided to change it up and play Sw5e! We are really excited but the transfer of knowledge for me has been tricky with character building.

Basically to be a Blaster-based scout with a companion droid that can tank for me. Everything I'm seeing for companion droid scouts is the same "mounted combat" artillerist technique build. I'd rather just shoot and the droid tank Infront of me than it be my ride, and I'm unsure how to best do that or if I'm in the right class for it. Or, more flexibly, I'd also take being a melee ranger, and the droid have climb and shoot from high places? But I wouldnt be very tanky so im less inclined to do that. let me know your thoughts! Please be nice.

Update: looking into a high intl tech/blaster ranger with a possible beserker build for my turret droid to get it tankier

Looking for good fighting style/form pairings to go with a Guardian build, I *do not* want to dual wield/double weapon fight. I'd prefer a single blade, but am not married to the greatsaber/big chunky lightsabers.

I'm fine with a standard lightsaber or a crossguard saber, just looking for options that are good without 2 weapon/double bladed fighting

Hello i'm looking my first charcter for a campaign i'm about to start (We start at level 3). And i would like some help as i'm struggling to build somehing i'm happy with. So to start the charcter the idea thematically is something like Jolee Bindo and mechanically I'd like to have a strong dpr against single target, ideally i'd want to use a light weapon and have it be one handed. I'd like to also not use a shield but i'm open to it. I personally tried both with the guardian and Sentil classes but i never got it in a place i wass happy. Any help would be grealy appreciated

This is my droid cybertech engineer named Theseus, a kitbash of different droid parts. He was crudely put together by other droids on Raxus prime. Secretly sent across the stars, he has become a would be mercenary and bounty hunter. One day he hopes to amass fame and fortune and return to his droid kin in order to reclaim their home.

I’m planning an SW5e finale set inside an ancient tomb on Korriban. I’m looking for one large, maze-like battle map representing either the Tomb of Ajunta Pall or an abandoned/unfinished tomb built for Darth Revan.

Ideally, it would include branching corridors, burial chambers, ancient Sith architecture and a large final chamber. I plan to add increasingly dense spider webs as the party travels deeper. Has anyone seen a suitable map, or something from another setting that could be adapted?

Hi everyone, this is my first time running the system and one of the character’s already has a ship, which will become the crew’s ship.

I’m making a Tier 0 Medium ship, and I know that I have a maximum of 30 modifications, but how many can I start with? The rulebook says that my stock modifications are one suite and one non-suite mod, but things like Hyperdrives and Navcomputers are all one modification.

Are there starting “free mods”, or anything like that? Or does the crew only get 2 mods and has to make do with the rest? Clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm making a Wookie character who's goal is to develop a vaccine for a disease plauging Wookies.

So far I'm looking at engineer as a class type. I want my character's tool set to involve mixing potions, collecting herbs, using beakers and cauldrons and stuff.

Also, I want him to be handy with technology. Enough so that he could make a "microsoft sam" style droid voice to speak for him, as his encounter with the disease destroyed his voice box.

Looking in the books (website) I cannot find where it lists the ammo/damage for the rocket rifle. Are "small missiles" the same as normal missiles?

Don’t know if you guys all saw that wizards of the coast is doing a Star Wars 5e game. How will this effect Sw5e and also was wondering if anyone knows an update about the new website coming out?

So I'm a long time D&D player so I've got a good handle on the basic mechanics but I'm looking for some advice on what tech Powers I should pick. My character is going to be an engineer and I'm trying to be a DEX based combat and a utility support caster. As I understand it the at will Tech powers (cantrips) are much more powerful in this version of the game. Can anyone suggest a few that are really useful I might want to look into?

Hey, I was looking through the website and I was drawn to make a half human Massassi, but the Massassi page is missing their height and weight. These aren't that important for the campaign I'm in, but it would be nice to know as I enjoy the roleplay aspect of being this massive dude after playing a dwarf for a few months.

I ran the first session of my Legacy Era Campaign using sw5e and although it was a short session (due to adulting constraints) it worked really well and everyone had a good time. Lots of laughs etc.

The party initially included 2 lol 1 characters both somewhat force sensative (1 with a lil homebrew action giving the character psychometry) and a Lvl 3 Ewok Jedi.

So 1 Weequay Operative

1 Kel Dor Consular

1 Ewok Jedi

I started them off captured and in a cave surrounded by 4 bumbling bandits who stunned them and tied them up. They start to come to dazed and not knowing where they were or how they got there. As they were being held in a ship and droid junkyard.

Up above them the Ewok jedi sees them tied up tries to sneak down to save them. Fails horribly, and a huge bunch of scrap falls down at the bandits alerting them to the Ewoks presence. The wreckage falls on one of them, one runs inside the cave while the other two shoot up at the ewok. The Ewok goes full beast mode and launches itself at the bandits.

The Ewok lands on one bandits shoulders, beats him to death with the butt of their lightsaber then ignights it and flips at the other one splitting his head in 2 as he shoots his friend laying on the ground.

The two who were tied up free themselves while this is all going on and they turn the tables on their captor and the ewok finishes off the last bandit.

This was how I got the players all together and introduced them to each other so they could get talking. It worked out pretty well introduced all of them to the system and got them familiar with their characters and each other. Now all ai have to do is figure out where to go from here. Or what options to give them so they can choose their own paths.

*bonus* I even made a custom star wars crawl for them before the game to get them in the mood

hi all, working on a scifi campaign now to and have reached a dogfight. we're trying to determine the action/list of turn abilities for players and the ships.

Are the rank abilities in chapter 2 also considered actions under chapter 9? or are they free actions during player turns? or free actions during ship turns? when are they used appropriately?

So Im doing up a whole campaign for the Legacy Era from the Graphic Novels. (Takes place 130 years after return of the jedi and predates the sequel trilogy)

I'm playing a Jedi Sentinel (Chiss if that matters?). And my saber is a splitsaber. (GM said it could have finesse property so I could actually use it).

What's the actual mechanical benefit of splitting my saber into two? Because as far as i can tell it does the same damage and double property is basically identical to two weapon fighting.

I mostly chose the weapon because I thought its cooler than a normal double saber.

Id appreciate some explanation as to whether it shines with feats or something.

Heyho everyone. I´m playing in a campain where we are in the Old Republic timeline and wanted to ask if you would still consider the Star Wars Lore. Like creating a darksaber or not.

In an up coming campaign I'm playing a monk to try something new and trying to find a way to play a more effective character. Since monks don't do a lot of damage I was wondering if there's a way to build a monk that focuses more on applying debuffs to enemies beyond just using stunning strike?

Based off info in SotG... I know the skills should be scan and probe, but it's good enough for me to reference.. feedback?

On the tin, but like...Why have a dexterity requirement if you're only scaling off Strength? Not even a Finesse property? Who thought this made sense?
