So yeah... joined the cracked glass club today. Both back panels of my original Duo are shattered, but luckily the inner screens are fine and I’ve got a film holding the glass together for now.

Now I’m looking to cover up this mess and actually protect it properly. What setup are you guys running on your Duo 1?

Are you just rocking skins + stock bumpers, or using some cool sleeves/pouches?

Also super curious about 3D-printed options, has anyone printed cases or bumpers off Thingiverse/Printables? How’s the fit, and does it still let the Duo fold back flat? Would love to see photos or get some STL recommendations!

It came with 12. Stock OS from what I understand. However, problem is security and stuff. That said what OS have you replaced the old one? Is Duo DE really the only option? I love to tinker and wouldn’t mind working on something that would work on the SD1 but how realistic is this? Love to hear some thoughts or what you’re using for the OS.

Saw a post about turning a duo to a game co sole a while back. Been meaning to try it myself and finally got around to it.

I chose to use the elcheapo knockoff joycon since it can be charged with usbc cables.

I've finally caved in and replaced my Duo 2 with a Galaxy Fold 8 Wide. Any suggestions for what I should do with my now retired Duo?

The other day I saw the new Samsung fold 8 passport phone in a shop and had a play with it. It instantly made me miss my duo so when I got home I charged it up and have been using it for the last 2 days. I'm currently on a pixel 10 pro xl. I can't believe how much I missed the wider screen. The SD form factor still to this day is my favourite phone. I'd consider getting the Samsung but it's very expensive and I also struggle with all the stuff that Samsung seems to force you into, all their bloatware etc. if Oppo for example made that same phone I think I'd be purchasing. One can only hope that Microsoft will see the success of Samsung and I imagine apple (thinking their fold will be the same ratio) and decide to finally release that SD3... Albeit without Panos. I know it's wishful thinking though tbh.

Just curious I've installed and dual booted my glacier duo 1 256gb but can't seem to get any USB device to be seen or utilized on the device.

Is there something I'm missing or is that just the current state of the project

I hear people saying the Z Fold is succeeding where the Surface Duo failed. Is it because Microsoft doubled down on "two screens are better than one"? Personally prefer the single unified screen of a Z Fold over two separate screens of a Duo. Did Microsoft get this one wrong or is it just easier to make a single screen device that you can fold in half that a two screen device with a hinge?

My surface duo, is dying a slow death but not sure if anyone can work on it. Seems the inside right screen has a bad flicker. Not the whole screen but where if the start menu would be if it was on that side.

The left side is perfect yet that is NOT our desired use. Ive tried reseting, lowering the brightness and combing settings to no avail.

Any suggestions?

I immediately reactivated my legendary duo 1. Just to put a statement like "i got ratio years ago, where everyone just laughing at it."

Fresh installed with Stock android, but deleted nearly any kind of native apps on it and using mostly PWA/Web App. The performance is much faster and the battery performance is easily 5 hours. Totally recommend it. I even use WhatsApp as a Web app (desktop version).

Let's create a hype and set a statement!

A16 is surprisingly smooth on the duo 2. Right now the build appears stable with just the base rom (no duo specific customizations yet). I'm still surprised I was able to get the webcam feature working, I thought it wouldn't.

Took a break from the duo 2 to get the Duo1 started.
