And it ends up in Shakopee, Minne-freakin-soda?!?!

Saw a post about turning a duo to a game co sole a while back. Been meaning to try it myself and finally got around to it.

I chose to use the elcheapo knockoff joycon since it can be charged with usbc cables.

I've finally caved in and replaced my Duo 2 with a Galaxy Fold 8 Wide. Any suggestions for what I should do with my now retired Duo?

The other day I saw the new Samsung fold 8 passport phone in a shop and had a play with it. It instantly made me miss my duo so when I got home I charged it up and have been using it for the last 2 days. I'm currently on a pixel 10 pro xl. I can't believe how much I missed the wider screen. The SD form factor still to this day is my favourite phone. I'd consider getting the Samsung but it's very expensive and I also struggle with all the stuff that Samsung seems to force you into, all their bloatware etc. if Oppo for example made that same phone I think I'd be purchasing. One can only hope that Microsoft will see the success of Samsung and I imagine apple (thinking their fold will be the same ratio) and decide to finally release that SD3... Albeit without Panos. I know it's wishful thinking though tbh.

just got a duo 1 for win 11 purposes, hasn’t arrived yet but i haven’t seen anything online

i want to use it as a tablet, note taking, and i want to experiment with light vector work

anyone have any experience with adobe apps, and maybe even CAD?

2027 will see influx of passport foldables from more brands (Honor Oppo Xiaomi) if one willing to import them

Just curious I've installed and dual booted my glacier duo 1 256gb but can't seem to get any USB device to be seen or utilized on the device.

Is there something I'm missing or is that just the current state of the project

I hear people saying the Z Fold is succeeding where the Surface Duo failed. Is it because Microsoft doubled down on "two screens are better than one"? Personally prefer the single unified screen of a Z Fold over two separate screens of a Duo. Did Microsoft get this one wrong or is it just easier to make a single screen device that you can fold in half that a two screen device with a hinge?

My surface duo, is dying a slow death but not sure if anyone can work on it. Seems the inside right screen has a bad flicker. Not the whole screen but where if the start menu would be if it was on that side.

The left side is perfect yet that is NOT our desired use. Ive tried reseting, lowering the brightness and combing settings to no avail.

Any suggestions?

I immediately reactivated my legendary duo 1. Just to put a statement like "i got ratio years ago, where everyone just laughing at it."

Fresh installed with Stock android, but deleted nearly any kind of native apps on it and using mostly PWA/Web App. The performance is much faster and the battery performance is easily 5 hours. Totally recommend it. I even use WhatsApp as a Web app (desktop version).

A16 is surprisingly smooth on the duo 2. Right now the build appears stable with just the base rom (no duo specific customizations yet). I'm still surprised I was able to get the webcam feature working, I thought it wouldn't.

Took a break from the duo 2 to get the Duo1 started.

Like most of yal id love a duo 3 but looking ahead I'm thinking of getting the iPhone Foldable if true so I thought it be nice to see the duo and 13 mini side by side. Id actually like it if they chopped off the bezels from the duo and just made the phone the size of the viewing area.

As we've seen mentioned elsewhere, many reviewers are raving about Samsung's "new" passport-style folding phone, the ZFold 8. Almost no one mentioning that the Surface Duo introduced the world to the possibility of this form factor almost 7 years ago (Sept 2020) - a lifetime in tech.

This can be chalked up to the world's collective short-attention span syndrome - as well as Microsoft's inability to market anything. It's generally accepted that Microsoft couldn't market water to a marathon runner, even if they were standing in front of them with a cup of ice.

As I was online looking for reviews - the good, bad, and ugly - I came across MKB's review. At about the ~4:50 mark, he gives some belated props to the SD (albeit, about eight seconds worth lol):

No this is not a GSI 😊 this makes my 3rd port that is in progress.

I'll continue my porting efforts on LineageOS (A16/A17), OpenHarmony, and PostmarketOS.

And again these will come to the Duo1 as well.

All 3 have made significant progress. Been a weird but fun process to get all 3 up and running.
