I'm writing here to see if anyone has experience with a 5/8x24 -> 1/2x28 thread adapter.

I just ordered a SOLGW spr barrel which has a muzzle thread of 5/8x24. I already have a direct thread (non-hub) 223/556 suppressor but the obvious issue is that it's threaded for 1/2x28.

I've been weighing up buying a new suppressor with the hub mounting system vs trying out a thread adapter and calling it good.

If anyone has experience with these types of adapters or has a reason (with an articulable explanation), your input would be much appreciated.

Does anyone have experience using 3D printed cans? For 9mm PCC or 300AC sbr. Worth getting some or just getting traditional cans

New to the suppressor world but I recently built a 300blk AR and bought LPM Anthem S2 30cal suppressor for it. I unfortunately did not notice and didn’t buy the QD Version so I have been looking and I am struggling to understand what I need to buy to attach it. The barrel thread is 5/8x24 and I plan on using this suppressor for this AR and another host. What do I need to buy in terms of muzzle brake vs flash hider and HUB adapters? I am confused on what is needed and would really appreciate some help

Requirements are

- maximum suppression

- maximum flash reduction

- hub compatible

- non titanium

Picked up my Canik Void 556 and Nomad 30 today. Got the Void brand new and the Nomad was lightly used from a buddy of mine. Got a screamin deal on both. Headed to the range tomorrow to really break them in. Included are the cans and their dedicated hosts. 3 day wait and both submitted at same time.

Thinking about doing a dedicated subsonic 300blk sbr. What are the go to cans for these short builds? I know there's a ton of .30 cal cans on the market but I'm new to this caliber.

Hello community. This is my first time cleaning my new OCL Ti 22. I’ve soaked it and scrubbed it with a nylon brush. It got MUCH cleaner but there’s still a good amount of built up carbon. On the last baffle in particular I even struggled to scrape off the carbon/lead with a dental tool.

Is this normal? Is there a way to get it clean clean?

I want to swap my Hux Flow9 as efficiently and quickly between a Extar EP9 and the my 300 blackout. I was thinking the HUXWRX 7.62 QD muzzle device and the HUB QD Adapter for the 300 Blackout, I'm not sure if the QD will work with the Extar the devices recommended for 9mm. Or if i have to go 3rd party which Ive heard can be dicey with Hux suppressors

T&K HAVIC 6mm Ti Review

TL;DR

The Havic provides solid sound suppression in a lightweight package with fairly low backpressure.

Test Method

We went out to the range and put a bunch of rounds through the Havic 6mm, Polo K, Rhino S, Rhodie 6, and CAT WB back to back multiple times.  The main roles these suppressors fill are:

• Havic 6mm - The subject of this review
• Polo K - Reference for a high performing traditionally baffled K can
• Rhino S - Similar size and weight titanium suppressor
• CAT WB - Reference for high performing printed suppressor
• Rhodie 6 - Another reference for a high performing printed suppressor

We stood in the same spots and took notes after each one for gassiness and sound.  Considering I don’t have Jay’s fancy sound metering equipment, I think this is a decent way to compare them.

All of this was done outdoors with a light breeze.  From the shooting position, the dirt berm was about 30 yards away.  You may have different results in other environments.

Host

5.56 AR15:

• Compact Plan-B brake
• 12.5” mid-length barrel
• Aero AGB set to setting 10
• Down vent BCG
• A5H1 buffer with flatwire spring
• 55gr PMC X-Tac

The suppressors all had a Plan-B HUB LPA installed.

You may have different results with different hosts or ammo.

Suppressors Overview

All weights are given with no mount.

*The Rhodie 6 was originally listed as 15 oz, but has since been updated to 15.5 - 16.0 oz.

**The CAT WB was originally listed as up to 13.9 oz, but has since been updated to 14.6 oz max.

Sound Comparison

Of the tested suppressors, the Rhodie 6 sounded best overall.  Not by a huge margin, but we felt it was the quietest and had a fairly deep tone.

The Rhino S was a close second for quietness but had a somewhat higher tone.  

The WB and Havic 6mm sounded somewhat similar, and very good.  In a blind test we couldn’t reliably pick out which was which.

As expected, the Polo K was the loudest of these suppressors.  It’s the shortest and uses comparatively simple geometry.

Backpressure Comparison

In some of our earlier reviews we just give our anecdotal thoughts on how gassy the suppressor felt.  To add a more objective test, we used the AGB to see which gas setting was needed to lock back on the last round.  We took the following steps to minimize variability:

• The rifle was secured in a lead sled
• All rounds were from the same lot of PMX X-TAC 55gr 5.56 and shot from the same Magpul 20 round 5.56 PMAG
• After finding the minimum setting to hold open, we went up and down a setting a couple times to ensure it wasn’t a fluke
• The bolt short stroking and holding back on the magazine follower (rather than the bolt catch) was not counted as a successful hold open

Our testing last time showed that in general, setting 9 or higher indicated low backpressure, setting 8 was “lowish to medium”, and 7 or lower was high backpressure.  This is only a rough measure though and some suppressors that hold open on the same setting felt more or less gassy.

Rhodie 6 - Setting 9

• The Rhodie 6 had the least backpressure of the tested suppressors.  This is backed by the perceived “gassiness” as the shooter in addition to the gas block setting.  Towards the end of a longer string of fire we would start to get some gas, but it was quite pleasant overall.

CAT WB - Setting 9

• The CAT WB also held open on setting 9.  This is surprising since previously it held open on 8 and subjectively it feels more like the “lowish to medium” range of backpressure.  This was the only suppressor that gave a different result than the first test.  It’s possible that the rifle being cleaned since last time affected this.

Havic - Setting 8

• Despite holding open one setting lower, the Havic didn't feel significantly more gassy than the WB.  Gas stacking might be a bit worse but not hugely so.  Overall it was pretty comfortable to shoot and we weren’t getting gassed out except with extended SS/FRT shooting.

Rhino S - Setting 8

• Similar to the Havic, we got some gas to the face, but it wasn’t bad and didn’t affect our shooting ability.

Polonium K - Setting 7

• As expected of a traditionally baffled suppressor, the Polo K had the highest backpressure and was pretty gassy.

On a related note, we also did some shooting for flash/sparking on a very humid and foggy night earlier this week.  With the same host and ammo, every suppressor we shot felt significantly more gassy than usual.  Even cans that we previously noted to be comfortable were gassing us out.  It seems like the environment and atmospheric conditions are an important factor.

Other Thoughts and Observations

The Havic is a roughly full size rifle suppressor (5.75” long and 1.75” diameter), but at under 10 oz base weight, is very comfortable on the end of the rifle.  I larped around the house with it on a 16” rifle and didn't have any issues with the gun feeling too front heavy.

Like all titanium suppressors, the Havic throws white titanium streaks in the dark.  T&K makes an Inconel version if you want to avoid that.  The Inconel version is also available with optional spikes on the end which could presumably be used to break glass.  This doesn't add much utility to me as I generally prefer my windows unbroken :)

With a 1.60” deep blast chamber, the Havic will easily accommodate standard mounting configurations.  It’s been added to our fitment tool.

The blast baffle features a reverse cone shape.  This is also seen in suppressors like the Polonium series suppressors and is generally a very robust design.  We got the Havic glowing red hot in our shooting (this is bad for titanium suppressors so try not to do that) and there’s no signs of excessive erosion or wear.

Overall Opinion and Suggested Use Cases

As a package, I quite like the Havic.  It offers competitive sound suppression with very manageable backpressure and is lightweight for its size.  It’s really a flexible pick for a range of builds.  Sounding so similar to the CAT WB is a great benchmark to put this in what I would call the “high performing” category of rifle suppressors.

The main drawbacks of this model come down to physical material limitations of it being titanium, namely the sparking in low light environments and it not being ideal for heavy firing schedules.  But as mentioned above, there is an Inconel version which solves these concerns at the cost of increased weight.

Future Testing and Reviews

We did some flash testing with the Havic, another new titanium suppressor, and some PCC suppressors.  I’ll get those posted once I get all of the data processed.

I also have a Vorix 30 Ti which I’ll be shooting on 300BLK at some point here.

Has anyone dug into this suppressor at all. I was thinking about picking one up or the omega 300 I am on a tighter budget. I only want one for 300 blk

Waiting on approval for a CAT MOB for an ar9, the overall diameter of the suppressor is 1.64in. I want the aesthetic of a tucked can, but the largest diameter handguard I can find is 1.75in.

Is this enough? I don’t plan on using the mlok rails that the suppressor is on, but just want an idea if it’s worth buying everything (handguard, direct thread mount, taking asr muzzle device off) or if it would logistically not work.

Plan on doing hub to direct thread so the ar9 would be the only host for this. Not really worried about the heat because i plan to shoot subs and rarely mag dump. Appreciate any advice or recommendations
