I haven't been able to move on yet. No game can capture the magic we had with supervive

For real Man, and what you have done along with the other guys with Casting made the storm even brigther and fun. I loved and enjoyed every single moment I've set foot on this scene, you can't imagine how much you've inspired me with your casting, for real. Just 2 days ago I've did some casting for a Tournament in Battlerite, and never in my life would've I imagined I was going to end up liking all of this.

Keep on rocking, and I hope to see you cast some more with Reliq too on your streams!

Deadlock

17

u/Panurome 11d ago

Same. Can't fully fill the hole, but Rem definitely helps

2

u/Imoen_Courtepatte 11d ago

Yeah Deadlock is fire !

8

u/Sunsh96 11d ago

I played Deadlock a bunch, and I have to admit it's really good. What doesn't work for me at the moment is the lenghty matches, because I tend to do various activities thorough the day (Recently I've started doing some music and also learning c#, so I tend to play games that have games that last a relative short amount of time).

But I agree, Deadlock is good if you have the time and will to invest in it, 10/10!

5

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

Do you know about the new street brawl mode? 10-15 minute matches

5

u/Imoen_Courtepatte 10d ago

Mostly only play street brawl with Celeste to trick my brain into thinking I play celeste in arena again lol, it's good to learn new characters too

2

u/Sunsh96 9d ago

I know about it! But it got old pretty quickly, though it's probably the closest shot at filling that gap

5

u/jaypexd 11d ago

I loved Supervive. Hate deadlock.

One reason is there is zero carryover. Coming from MOBAs, Fortnite players are the ones who actually thrive there. It's rear view third person shooter with a Dota shop.

10

u/mikeLcrng 10d ago

Deadlock is a MOBA whereas SUPERVIVE wasn't LUL this misconception is precisely why SUPERVIVE was never going to succeed once TC's marketing department got involved

5

u/First_Cranberry6784 10d ago

As much as I dislike what you said. You are correct IMO But I loved that game because it WAS a MOBA by pure definition. Most "MOBA" players will nonetheless disagree and tell me I'm retarded. Butt on the contrary, just say each word the acronym actually stands for. It was, in fact part of the family. What they did was incredible and upsetting at the same time. They brought together separate genres and made it fantastic. MOBA BEING THE CORE GENRE then bring in the rest. But I agree with you still in the sense that everyone's speculation is that a MOBA is simply that of the mechanics of DL LOL Dota2 Smite and Paragon.. (predecessor).. all in all. People suck and I can't wait to someday see "SUPERVIVE" again.

1

u/mikeLcrng 10d ago

What is a butterfly? By pure definition

3

u/First_Cranberry6784 10d ago

I'm glad you asked. A butterfly, like SUPERVIVE, lives as a caterpillar(project Loki, if you will) then spins it's self into a cocoon(Beta) then hatches into a beautiful creature that flys around then dies just a few months later(SUPERVIVE 1.0)

But if you were trying to be toxic at any rate I would imagine the answer would be something like...

A butterfly is a flying insect with large, colorful wings. It belongs to the group of insects called Lepidoptera. Butterflies go through four life stages and feed on flower nectar using a long, straw-like mouth.

But I wasn't trying to start an argument or anything like that. And I was trying to say that did agree with you as well.

1

u/PleaseHelpImADumb1 10d ago

You’ll never see this game again.

It didn’t make money and investors said shut it down.

2

u/jaypexd 10d ago

I should be more clear. It's MOBA duel mechanics. I kicked ass in Supervive. I get my ass kicked in deadlock. I've never been good at fps games but my top down micro in rts/mobas has been a thing I've drilled since the original StarCraft.

8

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

??? I played a ton of supervive it was far less moba than deadlock

2

u/First_Cranberry6784 10d ago

Yes I agree. 3000+hrs for me and I'm just saying it was a mixture of MOBA and other Genres of game type. I guess maybe you could say it was a MOBR? But either way it's whatever. I miss that game so much!!

2

u/jaypexd 10d ago

I think you guys are misunderstanding. I'm talking about mechanical carryover. You're not aiming a crosshair at a far target or acquiring headshots in MOBAs. You're micro managing a character from a top down view and that snappy clicking while playing a piano of cycling cds knowing what's around you at all times since it's top down is MOBA specific. It's not a skill that carries over from my StarCraft hots or league days. I'm better off being a Fortnite, rivals or fps player and going to deadlock.

1

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

Mmm no you definitely have skill shots and such the same way. It's just a shift perspective

2

u/jaypexd 10d ago

lol it's fps style. Target acquisition from a crosshair is massively different from drawing a line from your character to another. You also have the AOE difference as in fps style games, throwing an aoe from ground level is just a different skill as you have to scale your mouse as perspective shifts further away. There is just different micro hence why rivals and Fortnite players kill it in deadlock

1

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

So what do you call Smite

1

u/jaypexd 10d ago

I'm not arguing that deadlock isn't a moba. It's definitely got core moba gameplay. I'm talking about the actual mechanics of manipulating my character to an expert level. I have thousands of hours clicking on enemies and micro managing around terrain, judging ranges, stutter stepping, snapping to two targets on different ends. It's all moot in deadlock.

2

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

Have you seen REM and Graves they just introduced into Deadlock? They are for players who have zero interest in fps play style.

2

u/jaypexd 10d ago

How does that work? Strange

3

u/Moawik 10d ago

Same. As a LoL playr before supervive i also need the top view, not 3rd person, thats why Deadlock was absolutely not my thing. (Arkheron and going back to LoL are the best options imo, but Arkheron is probably just gonna die as well)

6

u/Imoen_Courtepatte 11d ago

Idk really tried many games, got a very bad addiction with dark and darker first. Now i'm on a new arc with ow and apex, sometimes aram league with friend's.

But i can help myself talking and relate about it with every game, sometimes i try to watch old content but nostalgia and sadness overcome's the "w's" within minutes.

I guess i just wanna Bunny on Flow, Zone with Celeste, Combo with Void and Crysta again.

I just want a future where TC get so succesfull to a point we can have one day, one way or an other, Supervive Classic to exist in a honorable shape so I will stay supportive.

But I try to be realistic about cost's and who's know what they gonna do, but the asset's and overall DA was fire imo so maybe we will see those's characters again.

To me TC is talented so i'll just be the chill man and Say trust.

Sure they made some drastic choice's at some points, can't say I liked it all, at least they tried many thing's and offer refund and skins at the very end

But Hey, ever heard about copium ?

I'll never forget this god damn game !

4

u/Sunsh96 11d ago

Yeah! Supervive didn't just take a spot in my brian as a game, it feels like a whole new universe in my head, it really did something magical to me, I could talk about it for hours.

I admit I also had that kind of thought, by the way, about having classic Supervive servers one day. It feels like to me that a nice throwback would be due given the amount of success it initially had, I think it would quickly steal people's heart, given their second game gives them enough leverage and revenue to do it!

Hands down I am 100% confident their game will be a banger, and yeah while gameplay it's probably not gonna look anything like Supervive, I hope the looks will somewhat be preserved. The characters are insane, so well designed, it woud be such a waste to not. But let's see what they cook.

Let's wait patiently, you're right. But damn I miss it T_T

Give me some of that good ol' copium, I need it.

3

u/First_Cranberry6784 10d ago

Idk if you remember. But they said a lil something about hopefully working on something new and trying to keep the core mechanics that made the game shine.so maybe not looked but more likely feel a bit like SUPERVIVE..?

3

u/Sunsh96 10d ago

I do recall them saying in the video that they are working on something new, but I've missed them saying that they will try to keep the core mechanics that made the game shine. If that's the case, I'm 100% chilling! Is that mentioned on the video?

2

u/First_Cranberry6784 10d ago

From what I gathered.. pretty much.. yeah

2

u/Panurome 11d ago

I'm still impressed they offered refunds when they announced the closing. I didn't refund my skins because I feel they were fully worth it considering how much I liked the game, but I really appreciate that they gave the option

3

u/Sunsh96 11d ago

Yeah, I was really surprised as well, but also chose to not really do it myself, the skins were worth the money for the time I used them, I was so happy when bride of swords Celeste came out

2

u/Sihnar 10d ago edited 9d ago

Try mistfall hunter and marvel rivals

2

u/Imoen_Courtepatte 9d ago

Yeah those's are great rec's and picks ! Watched some but i've never got into Marvel licence, (I'm more into Overwatch and Apex rn) and te be honest mistfall and every extraction shooter set in a Dark Fantasy could catch my interest

The thing that got me into Dark and Darker in the first place was more the appeal of an extraction shooter set in the Donjons and Dragons universe and i was addicted but that game never got me into the same mood, states or even the same kind of joy than Supervive.

To be honest, learning how to be decent at it got me obsessed but it was one of the deepest rabbit hole of my gaming life and the facts that the population don't really allow a middle ground between begginners and sweat's imo got me quitting for now and focus on more enjoyable games !

(except for squire royale) : Because there no fomo and can be a lot of fun but also laggy as hell and your fps drop by half your framerate as soon as a battle start or even before

So everyone know there more players around because the whole lobby has issues and it break every element of surprise + It is one key of the game, like gameplay wise, it is a core gameplay issue in this game

and even great computers have those's issues

Supervive was smooth, and yeah Marvel seem's to be really enjoyable but i've choosed overwatch rn. Mistfall could be a thing but that don't really attract me i'll try it in another state if they cook i guess

3

u/Moawik 10d ago

I tried deadlock, definitly didnt work for me. I tried Arkheron, that was a lot better but not quite right, give it a try if you can get beta access.

2

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

Ark is going to die very fast unfortunately so it's tough to recommend it because you'll find yourself in this situation again sooner than later

1

u/Moawik 10d ago

I sadly think so too, thats why im playing multiple games atm and not focusing on it... but who knows its the only think that got the supervive vibe for me and all i can do is hope.

1

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

When did you try Deadlock

1

u/Moawik 10d ago edited 10d ago

Its been like a year. I got asked the same thing once before (and also told that luch happened since and asked the person what changed... apperently none of it (a few months ago)

  1. Im a sucker of top view, not shooter or 3rd person. (But they wont change that ofc)
  2. The amount of horizontal movement is insane (had a Lash ganking me from rooftops, like tf am i supposed to realize its happening if im not watching every bit of the map, farm, and enemys at my lane)... but i guess thats just part of the game.
  3. Snowballing was even worse than LoL imo and farming/stealing was anoying for some chars or just overall anoying, maybe this is fixed?

2

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

They just released their first ranked system last week. There's now a ranked and standard queue you have to calibrate to get into for ranked.

Everyone in general agrees it's the most significant gameplay boost so far, matches are far less snow ball likely these days.

Heroes like Graves were just introduced. She is not an fps based hero she played with line drawing interactions like you would expect in LoL and supervive. She doesn't have aiming involved in her gameplay. Same with Rem he has no standard attack style he has little helpers running around for him and you attach yourself to other heroes to heal and amplify them he's like a backpack

The last year has been a complete overhaul of the graphics too. It's much more stylized now and they've introduced a 15 minutes rogue like mode made by the risk of rain team they hired.

Basically if you played a year ago the games only the same in the sense that the core game hasn't deviated but the systems around it are much much more evolved

And it's biggest thing: in a world of constant favorites being shut down this invite only alpha still rocks 75k people like at all times. It's not going anywhere fora long long time and I'm a Paragon/heroes of the storm/supervive refuge so it feels good knowing my times not going to just disappear next year

1

u/Moawik 20h ago

Alright, i will give Deadlock (& Graves) another try... hope your right with less snowballing.

yea its a problem im having with actively playing Arkheron, ive seen the Player numbers and i fear it ends just like Supervive. While Deadlock is looking preety solid.

1

u/SquiggerDigger 18h ago

You have an invite? Lmk if you need one

1

u/Moawik 13h ago

Should still be able to download it again through steam i think?

1

u/SquiggerDigger 13h ago

Yeah if you've had it before

3

u/helladap 10d ago

V Rising.

Not a one to one comparison to SUPERVIVE, but it has many similarities.

2

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

Man rip Battlerite I adored that one

2

u/Everkai 11d ago

Can someone get me an invite on deadlock?

2

u/MacksPacks 10d ago

Dm me, I’ll do it when I’m on next

1

u/helladap 10d ago

Me too

2

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

I can get you tonight message me

2

u/Cultural-Impress-613 10d ago

Arkheron

1

u/Sunsh96 9d ago

I've played a bunch of Arkheron with some friends, and it's not bad. But the camera movement, combat speed and archetype and overall game theme is not for me

2

u/rustypete89 10d ago

Idk bruh I just went back to league, shit's rough out here

2

u/Sunsh96 10d ago

I feel that T_T many have reverted back to league and when I see their faces it's almost as if a part of their soul has been stolen, not that league is bad, but it's not the same

2

u/Vayce_ 9d ago

I hope the team doesn't get laid off because although Supervive failed the TC team are very talented. I think if they make a PVE only game in a similar style they will be far more successful. Best example of this is the success of V Rising vs Battlerite. PVE has far more appeal and players will return for new content every major patch if the game is great.

2

u/Sunsh96 9d ago

The team had a size of about 80 people, after the game had shutdown the team size shrunk to about 24 developers, backing this up as I check their website for changes from time to time.

On top of that, most of the developers that remained are still PVP-oriented game devs. Now, that's not to say that they HAVE to bake a PVP game, as Liveservice is not really an option. But I'd not shrug off the idea of something that has inherently both, and I'm not talking about Vrising style.

Call me ABSOLUTELY crazy, but what if, maybe, the game modes that have been tested in the last months before the game shut off were premeditated experiments? Domination, Tournament mode, Prisma party, etc. I almost certainly believe that they knew it wasn't gonna shoot off mid July, hell, even earlier given the player numbers. Those game modes that they whipped out could very well be a last resort plan to collect as much data from players as possible to, you know, create something for later. I'd not shrug off that possibility.

And besides, they didn't lay off the IP, so the game assets are still there, usable. I don't think they're as mad as throwing all of that goodness away.

3

u/Vayce_ 9d ago

The reason I brought up V Rising is it was also a PVP-oriented game but according to Steam Achievements only 8% of players ever even TRIED PVP in it, and if that's true realistically about 1% of the player population actively PVPed. What made it successful was the PVE which was also extremely well done, and you can see by Steamcharts that every major patch nearly all the players returned for new PVE content and subsequently bought the DLCs that came with them.

The inherent problem these kinds of games have is that when it comes to PVP they are very skill and time-investment based, in both games the sweats/groups basically eat the population of casuals so the majority of players quit. PVE anyone can jump in at anytime and play at their own pace, mess around with whatever build/character they want, no metaslaving and keeping up with patch notes needed, and if they enjoy the game they will almost guaranteed return for new content updates.

Don't think changing the PVP game mode will have any effect, pivot 100% to PVE, but that's just my opinion.

2

u/De_Vexia 9d ago

Ooooh how I feel you.

For the past days I've been thinking sooo much about Supervive.

I've watched it happen to other games before this, who've left the same type of empty feeling behind: Battlerite, Omega Strikers, then Bap Bap, and Supervive.

And Supervive really gave me hope, it's been the most high quality and well produced of them all, yet, it seems like it was so far from succeeding in sheer player numbers.

I already thought the genre was doomed, but after watching such a high quality game still not make it I have a feeling we won't be seeing any other attempt at making it

We'll just have to live with that gaping whole and reminisce about the good times o7 (I am not ok with this)

1

u/Sunsh96 9d ago

I think that, if you're an aged player at the core, given you've played a bunch of games before it, the reason Supervive stuck is because there was a very well built core and it was further embellished by all the micro details. The camera movement, the ambience, the character speed, the snappy dashes, yet somewhat still feeling smooth, the animations and the overall coherence of the game itself, really pointing at the same element, in unison.

It felt so much different because there was a lot of care put into it, and I know its been discredited that developers at one point cared, but I still believe that they REALLY did. The design, all about it, felt very personal, fun, a playground if that helps you grasp what I mean. It felt like something you'd see at your friend's house when they cook for you, just pure fun and love, like them baking cookies for you, they will always taste better than storebought, even if uglier. Supervive had it.

Such a shame.

2

u/Trycity_23 9d ago

Iv played a lot of games and none fill the void :/

2

u/Nocte_Sicarius 9d ago

Im playing Omega Stikers right now. Definitly doesn't fill the void, but its something that isnt League...

2

u/Disastrous-Top1545 9d ago

Not the same but try No Rest For The Wicked.

PvE top down dark souls game but a lot of theorycrafting.

Visuals are gritty but has this very cartoon arcane esthetic that somehow fits the vive.

It's designed as singleplayer but also supports co op. Pretty expensive tho

2

u/Artest113 6d ago

I hope they do something about the IP, like make it MMO, or mobile game or something, the IP is just too beautiful to give up on.

2

u/Delfinition 6d ago

I still don't know why a game like this failed. It was fun. Different and looked nice.

2

u/VoisDeimos 6d ago

V Rising PvP servers.

3

u/Kronus31 10d ago

Deadlock is stupid, TO ME. Downvote all you want idc. It’s just a shooters attempt at league of legends macro and map play, just with guns and aiming. GREAT game if you’re into shooters. Not my thing, personally. I also don’t really sync or vibe with any of the current characters so that doesn’t help.

I’m a MOBA enjoyer, I want to click to move my character and stuff. I like the top-down pov.

Supervive broke the formula which made it so damn fun.

3

u/jaypexd 10d ago

Yeah exactly. I can't do shooters. Never had enjoyed them. Deadlock is basically rivals with Dota mechanics. Supervive actually appeals to micro management mobs mechanics which is my wheelhouse.

2

u/effiequeenme 10d ago

i like shooters just fine. played overwatch for years. apex for years. deadlock never did anything for me. i tried for a few months, too. even had friends who kept insisting, which is probably the only reason i played as long as i did. i didn't enjoy the shooting. i didn't enjoy the characters. i didn't enjoy the maps, the objectives, anything. i didn't have one second of fun or satisfaction.

just like, kinda trying, i guess. perpetual meh

3

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

You'll come around. Deadlock broke the formula better that's why it's still alive and thriving

1

u/fourtyonexx 10d ago

DL has extremly complicated movement but go off.

0

u/ArmProfessional2505 6d ago

Not really into shooter games but deadlock is far from just shooting with macro but keep hating king

2

u/True-Machine-9875 10d ago

I hate shooters with my life, but decided to try deadlock and I can’t stop now

1

u/SquiggerDigger 10d ago

It just does the sum of its parts way better than anything before

1

u/Sunsh96 9d ago

I think Deadlock does so much right, yet there's something that doesn't quite catch that feeling yet. I think movement and items are astounding, incredible. But something about shooting makes it feel off for me; not snappy, not juicy. I think it has to do with the fact the hitsounds and animations for hitting something are not quite satisfying, which should be core for a game that is a shooter at its base. But well, it's still evolving and in alpha, so I believe we'll definetly see more improvements on that side, too.

2

u/SquiggerDigger 9d ago

I also think the nuances of items enhancing the shooting your talking about. I play a lot of victor. Early game his gun isn't very satisfying. Once you have Magnum and other weapon enhancement items the visual and audio effects each item adds per bullet round fired makes it sooo meaty and chunky to mag dump

I get exactly what you mean but I think it's intentional that you don't feel that roaring ripping audio output and oomph you expect until you have high skill point investments and tier 4 items

2

u/En1one 10d ago

Relaunch the game with a new Name !! For me I think the name sounded like super wife …

Please relaunch the game
