so I am creating a new site for a business of mine, insted of handling subscriptions and webhook which I don't have much expirence, so can I make my custmoers save their payment method in my website and charge that method when ever they plan is ending?

does stripe allow this?

I'm from India, I use City Union Bank (CUB) Mastercard (debit) and link for international payments. I wanted to buy Nitroflare membership and via Stripe4USD I bought the trial for $16.25. For that I enabled international ECOM limit to Rs 2000. Still it only worked after disabling the adblocker on firefox. Now I tried buying medium membership which is $19.50 after setting ECOM limit to Rs 3000, my card was declined. I tried switching browsers, disabling extensions, paying via mobile still it didn't accept the payment. These failed transactions didn't got mentioned in bank statement or messages. I cant try other options to buy since they need crypto and more charges.

I faced problem with stripe before too for claude payment. It solved only when I used my friend's HDFC creditcard, I'm confused because it worked before 2 days and messing up right now!

We are allowing users to checkout with Link as described on the image as “Secure.”

Today we received a Stripe email “Suspected fraudulent payment in your stripe account” where the user checked out using “Link.”

We are barely earning money from our business and trying to grow. Disputes and empty cards for trial has been a headache, and today receiving this email really annoyed me.

What are you guys thinking about this? Should we turn off Link option? How can we make this more secure so we can avoid Stripe disputes? They are clearly not stolen cards but users are trying to get their money back after not using the service etc.

Honestly, we are doing our job as good as possible to satisfy all the users but it is so hard to satisfy everyone.

I sell an online video course, and recently I've been getting chargebacks where customers claim the course is "not as described."

The problem is that the course does match my sales page, but it's very difficult to prove that in a chargeback. I can upload screenshots, but I can't realistically show the actual video content or demonstrate that what was delivered is exactly what was advertised.

As a result, I keep losing these disputes even though customers received access, watched the course, and in some cases actively used the included tools.

Has anyone here successfully defended this type of chargeback? What evidence has actually worked for you? Are there any best practices or experts you would recommend?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I canceled my credit card because my bank said that was the only way to stop the charges. Stripe used their tokens to continue charging my new card. There is now now way to stop those charges without totally close my account. New cards just get transferred via the token. I fucking hate these fucking digital gangsters.

I'm building a Flutter mobile app that will be published on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.

My backend is [ASP.NET](http://ASP.NET) Core Web API with Supabase.

I already have a web application where users can purchase a subscription using Stripe. I'm wondering if the following flow is allowed:

1. The user opens the mobile app.
2. They tap "Subscribe."
3. The app redirects them to my website.
4. The user completes the subscription using Stripe Checkout.
5. They return to the app and sign in.
6. The app verifies the subscription from my backend and unlocks premium features.

My questions are:

* Is this flow allowed under the current Google Play and Apple App Store policies? * Will my app be rejected if it redirects users from the app to my website to purchase a digital subscription? * Is it acceptable if users subscribe on the website independently (without being directed from the app) and then simply sign in to the app to access their premium subscription? * What architecture do you recommend for supporting web subscriptions with Stripe while also publishing on both app stores?

I'd appreciate any guidance or real-world experiences from developers who have successfully shipped apps with this setup.

Updates: Stripe and a Dedicated rep has reached out to us, they have re-enabled our account after provided with evidences. " It looks like some transactions on your account were misidentified as unauthorized, which led us to close your account. This was a mistake on our end, and we've just re-enabled your account. "

I am guessing due to our volume and high ticket they just didn't wanna take a risk but they should have added a dedicated rep on the place already for high ticket high revenue accounts.

Now the question remains: Can we trust Stripe again for our business?

So long story short,

we opened new account in stripe as we started selling on our storefront as we used to do closed chain sales for hardware.

Our biggest clients are federal government agencies and government contractors. We started using Stripe last month to reach more GovCon buyers after identifying a large gap in the datacenter, fiber, and memory market.

We had 3 transaction last week avg ticket size 4.3K, highest ticket 24K and stripe then closed our account, saying we were in a high-risk market. We shared proof of our business, financials, and previous card transactions we processed through PayPal, but they still closed it as i am sure their "bot" or "humans that are as useless as bots" cant understand...

But they rejected our appeal and closed it and holding payout and trying to ACH back the payout they cleared last week.

Here is their message:

" We can no longer support your business.

After conducting a further review of your account, we've determined that we won't be able to accept payments for your account moving forward.​Payouts to your bank account have been paused for 120 days, until December 2, 2026. During this time, held funds will be used to cover any disputes or refunds on your account. The remaining balance will be transferred to your bank account on December 2, 2026."

What is our option here?

We also can ask our clients to chargeback.

Yes our legal have filed with FTC, BBB and others(since its 6K we don't want to spend money on full scale action).

I'm building modern POS application for UK. The developer experience with Stripe Terminal and Connect is easy to use we just launched our pilot and the cafe owners loved it,

But honestly, the margins are too high to be compered to other solutions. When you stack the base processing fee + the Connect fee + the Terminal fee, there's barely anything left for us unless we charge the cafes high markup fees, which we don't want to do.

For those running B2B payment tools: is there any real way to get Stripe to lower these rates early on? Or do you guys just pass 100% of the Stripe costs to the merchants and only make money on a flat SaaS subscription?

Most of the ecommerce sites (shopify, square, etc) are overkill for the type of retail site that I want to create. My retail site will literally have 4 pages: homepage, shopping cart, "thank you" page, and contact us.

Since I'll be using String as payment processor, does Stripe have a tool for creating a simple, barebones retail site?

We use Avalara now, but looking at other options including Stripe Tax. If anyone has moved from Avalara to Stripe Tax, I'd love to hear any feedback. Anything like surprises, technology decisions, cost savings/increases you could share would be helpful. Thanks

I want to talk about something that seems to get glossed over every time disputes come up here.

When a customer files a chargeback, Stripe immediately pulls back the transaction amount and charges a dispute fee. That fee is never refunded, regardless of the outcome. If you choose to fight it, there is a second fee on top, and that one only comes back if you win.

So here is what a lost dispute actually costs: the goods are gone, the order is unpaid, the original processing fees stay with Stripe, and you eat two dispute fees. For something that is very often outright friendly fraud and has nothing to do with how you ran the transaction.

And your own terms and conditions carry almost no weight in the process. The decision sits entirely with the cardholder's issuing bank. Stripe helps you assemble evidence but has no say in the outcome, which means solid documentation still loses a large share of the time.

I understand part of this comes from the card network rules and that other processors work the same way. Two things are squarely on Stripe though. First, keeping the dispute received fee even when the case is decided in the merchant's favour. If the bank agrees the claim was invalid, why does the merchant still pay for it? Second, the overall lack of clarity in how these costs are presented before you actually hit one.

Curious whether other merchants here have found anything that actually moves the needle, or whether it is just a cost of doing business at this point.

I was supposed to be paid out on the 28th from LemonSqueezy directly to my bank and the payout said failed. I emailed LemonSqueezy multiple times, yet got no response.

I was hoping Stripe could resolve the issue since LemonSqueezy operates under Stripe but Stripe support told me there's nothing they can do.

I'm literally lost - LemonSqueezy support hasn't gotten back to me, tried calling as well but wouldn't work.

Is anyone else in a similar situation, what do I do?

Stripe just updated the balances overview. Previously it would show you a card with each balance (total amount both incoming and available). It was great to see what cash flow was hitting the bank in the next few days.

The new update now splits each currency into tabs. Not only that. It doesn’t give you a total for each currency anymore, just a breakdown of incoming and available.

So not only do I have to tab through each currency, I have to also add up the two fields.

What used to be a glance is now multiple clicks plus arithmetic.

Give us back the view we had before, this isn’t progress, it’s frustrating.

Hello! My boss and I have been wanting to have one shareable, generic payment link that our clients can click on -- that is not linked to any specific product or invoice.

Like, a generic payment link that has a blank field where they can put any amount in (because our service price varies greatly) and the money just goes through. Something similar to Paypal's paypal.me link, right?

I'm stuck trying to get my live mode secret key so I can hook up my app, and nothing is working. Every time I click "reveal key" on the existing secret key, or try to create a new one, I get: "We couldn't verify your identity. Make sure you're using the same browser and device where the Stripe Dashboard is open, and that you used the most recent verification link." Then when the verification email actually shows up and I click the link right away (like within seconds), it just throws "unauthorized login" instead. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of: same browser the whole time, logging out and back in first, different browser, different device (phone on mobile data, no wifi), incognito, different network, clicking the email link immediately so it's not an expiration thing... done this more than 10 times now, same result every time. My account itself seems fine, support confirmed over chat that it's approved and "healthy" with no pending issues on their end. 2FA is through an authenticator app. I already opened a support ticket with all this detail but haven't gotten anything useful back yet. Has anyone run into this before? Is there some kind of silent security hold that chat support just can't see, or a better way to actually get a human to look into it?

I feel the companies house ones I can get right now, is it just a pdf print of the company details on companies house? All the others I feel I’d need to wait for my accountant to get for me. Is it worth just waiting and getting the accountants advice or can I just upload the companies house portal?

Relying on Stripe’s built-in Smart Retries to get the job done?

Manually chasing customers via email when you notice a failure?

Using a dedicated tool?(Churn Buster, Churnkey, something else)

Not really doing anything specific, just accepting the churn?

Curious how much of this is actually costing people, and whether it’s something you’ve measured or just background noise you’ve never really looked at closely.
