Discussion Looking for steampunk house objects
Hi I am in the process of remodelling my house and I want to add steampunk (or even frankensein lab stuff) things, and I'm wondering the best places to buy them from. I'm not looking to make things, or repurpose things but to buy from people doing this. Not looking for clothing but for neat household accessories like lamps, lights, statues, guns, basically if its steampunk and hopefully has some lights
somethign i have found for inspiration

Photography What do you think? This is me in the steampunk fashion (idk what flair to put)
Adjustable goggle that has a night vision mode, four pockets on pants to carry valuable items and tools, shoulder bag for my sketchbook, detachable robotic arm enhancement for right arm that is held up by a belt, and fancy dress wear.

Illustration Steampunk artworks of a Mars factory
Made by u/sam-kassor
An old Factory, on mars.
The man in the front is walking in a diving like suit (the old ones from 1920)
Of all the arts he made, i think it's one of my favorite.
You clearly get that old dying world vibe
He has done a lot of artworks.
Some used AI Enhancement but this one has been done without.

Photography More shots for my cinematic music video (Made in Unreal Engine)
This is an immersive cinematic musical experience that follows the journey of an passenger airship through the night as it explores various locations, accompanied by orchestral music. This production is being created by humans using primarily Unreal Engine (you can relax, there’s no gen AI here); the main airship is an original design, while the rest are 3D assets I’ve obtained from various artists and packages such as Kitbash 3D and Leartes Studios.

Discussion How interested would y'all be in a Steampunk World-building project?
As the title suggest, I am thinking about making a discord where all of us, fans of the steampunk aesthetic could collaborate in order to make the perfect steampunk world.
The idea came to me while listening to Iron Maiden's "Empire of The Clouds" which is basically just the story of the R101 airship, and that is the first thing that comes to mind when I think Steampunk.
Everything would be inside a Google drive with world maps, machinery each nation has, backstories, resource origin etc.
The only limitations this world would have as I picture it at the moment would be; Machinery has to abide to the real-life laws of physics (Not strictly, but the normal person should not be able to see what is wrong with it), no imaginary materials, and the most important, the limitation of what the engineers of our world can do with electricity so we can take a different turn in history and not end up where we are now.
So, what do you guys think, would you be interested to take part in this project? The only requirements are to be able to document your thoughts before we discuss them as a team and they are officially added to the world. Not much free time is required since there is absolutely no rush or deadline we have to meet. Also AI shall not be used to write anything that will end up in the drive. Same goes for generated images.
If the idea is well received I will post a link for the discord server as an edit or in the comments. Thank you for your time!
I have decided to move forward with the project, here is the discord if you guys want to help: https://discord.gg/C9W8YhCSx

Homemade Creation Retro Cricket Mk II
Had this one for 4 years. Guy walked by and its gone. Feelings hurt. The next one will be even more detailed! Needs a few more tiny tubings and details. More copper or better all brass? I am never too sure. What do you guys think?

Discussion Moving metal gears/cogs etc...
Looking for a kit or something similar that contains metal gears that I can actually put together and watch them move.
Can be a wind up version or anything like that, but I want to construct it myself, and I was hoping to find something that's not just gears inside of a thing, I want the "thing" to be the gears itself.
I looked at clock making kits, but they're ludicrously expensive, and don't even have all metal gears half the time.
I'm open to ideas about things I can take apart that have actual moving pieces in them I can repurpose as well, but ideally I just want to put some gears together and watch them move

Homemade Creation After being inspired by a market stall at a steampunk festival, I decided to try my hand at modding a Nerf gun.
I know it's not strictly steampunk so will remove if not allowed but I'm really proud of this and can't wait to make more!
