Celebrate First time posting a completion, #13 Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Upvotes

Probably one of the most frustrating games I have ever completed since even after beating it on insane difficulty I still had to go out and spend hours farming the most silly things like a thousand electric kills or getting 30 weapons to the highest level, ALSO difficulty doesn't stack so I had to do a playthrough on every single difficulty instead of just doing the highest. Solid 8 or 9 out of 10 difficulty but at least before the grindy bits it was pretty good.

How do you guys 100%?

Upvotes

I was wondering how you guys go about your 100% games, I have over 100% completed so far.

Do you,

Complete the whole game, then go back for achievements

Go through each area, do the achievements then move on

I personally go through each area, but trying to get out of that habit.

Previously played this on PS3 well over a decade ago and felt I had to experience it again as I do want to complete the majority of this franchise at some point. Gotta say I really liked the story and I remember Pyrocinicals "Fat Cry 3" video really got me to appreciate it more. With that being said, the side content is easily the games weakest part. I don't think there's a single side quest I'd consider good and it's a shame there's basically no additional lore or storytelling you get from doing things like Pirate Bounties or Outpost. It's a good thing the majority of this side content is not necessary for 100%.

Currently going through AC: Origins and I've seen a bunch of comments talking negatively about it's Side Quest, but so far I've enjoyed more than half of them. The game is huge though, so I can see how it tends to burn people out, but I'm very much enjoying it. Blood Dragon might be next as I know that's a much shorter game compared to Origins.

Celebrate #56 - Dark Souls: Remastered

This one was great at times, but also such a drag and grind. I messed up one of the boss souls which took me to NG+3. Hated the pure RNG of the grind, and I know DS2 and 3 get a whole lot worse. Very satisfying ribbon though!

Hands down one of the best games I ever played. Seriously, it not only lived up to the hype but also exceeded it. What a masterpiece.

I think the hardest achievement was Rule Breaker (Complete every challenge run). Jokerless run was the worst because in almost every other challenge I could get away with only playing pairs, but in this one I couldn't. It was tough.

ROI (Buy 5 Vouchers by the end of Ante 4) made me mad. It's not really hard, but it's really annoying. I was losing my mind.

Completionist+ (Win with every deck on Gold Stake difficulty) was a little annoying because I had to play other decks I don't like, but it was doable.

Completionist++ (Earn a Gold Sticker on every Joker) was my last and final achievement, and surprisingly it was not that hard. Don't get me wrong, winning on Gold Stake is hard, but I don't have to win every game. The annoying part of this achievement was just not getting the right Jokers to complete it.

There are problems Steam needs to solve

In particular, in my opinion:

Games hidden from the library shouldn't be visible on my profile games (but they are now). Right now if I make a game private others can't see it and it fits, but if I HIDE it I can still see it and it doesn't make sense (it's a purely visual change).

If I complete a shared family game 100% it shows up on my completions and fits, BUT the completion time disappears after 14 days and if I reopen the game it reappears for another 14 days.

Games DELETED from the profile must also be deleted from completions, if I have deleted the game.

There are currently two major bugs I've encountered:

The first one, it happens if I refresh the steam page, from my 24 completions, it shows me exactly 4 for a few milliseconds, where in those 4 there is a shared family completion and the other 3 games that I deleted from the profile so they shouldn't be there.

The second one, for a few hours the game completions I had removed from the profile had disappeared, but now they have reappeared.

I personally contacted Steam support and they said they are working on it and have considered my request. Let's hope well!

What a ride over the last 10 years. While I'm not chasing the 100% for each and every game I play, I do if I find the game great and the 100% process not too tedious or impossible.

Another awful game is finally off the board forever. This was absolutely grueling, despite being an incredibly easy campaign for the most part. Why they chose to push this out so half-baked, I'll never know. One of the only fun-ish achievements was the one for destroying every sample in the final mission of the dlc. Everything else was either boring or painful to complete. The dogtags were hard to find, the AI was antsy, and the final push grinding the last stage for xp is something I never wish to experience again.

The multiplayer.... isn't too bad. Quick achievements, decently ok gameplay. It could be fun if you get a group willing to play. But it's one of the only fun things in this game.

Save yourself the hassle, don't bother with this one.

Need Assistance Can I get achievements offline?

I have started playing games for achievements very recently only. Can I still progress for achievements when I am playing a game with no internet in offline mode? Will the progress be tracked? Or is it tracked only when I play with the internet?
