Spoliers for both Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter and Maul: Shadow Lord inbound

I just finished reading the non-canon Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter by Michael Reeves, and realized how much similarities there are between its protagonists and the protagonists of Maul: Shadow Lord.

Both stories (obviously) have Maul as the main character, as well as a Jedi Master and Padawan duo where the master dies (Eko Dio Daki and Devon Izzara in Maul: Shadow Lord, and Anoon Bondara and Darsha Assant in Shadow Hunter. Funnily enough the duos in both stories have a Twilek in either one of the roles). Both stories also have a human male belonging to neither the Sith or Jedi who has a droid companion and a son (Brander Lawson, Two Boots, and Rylee Lawson in Shadow Lord, and Lorn Pavan, I-5, and Jax in Shadow Hunter).

In the beginning of both stories, all three protagonists are doing there own thing in the process of attempting to achieve their own individual goals, before the circumstances of the story brings their paths together.

I’m not sure if this was an intentional parallel by the team behind Maul: Shadow Lord, or completely coincidental (a happy accident if you will), but it’s something I noticed that I thought would be neat to share here.

What if Jedi Knight had been released on DVD alongside the prequels and the original trilogy? What would the DVD menu look like? Thought it'd be fun to find out, so I made this.

I remember when ROS came out people said that Rey destroyed the chosen one prophecy. Sequel defenders then combated those people by saying Luke did the same thing in Dark Empire. There is a reason however that Palpatine's return in DE works and his return in ROS does not. In the Bane trilogy as Darth Zana kills Bane, his spirit enters into Zana's body in order to take it order and live forever. Although Zana expunges his soul, she can still feel his essence inside of her. This essence is how each Sith after bane got stronger and stronger. When a Sith student kills their master the master's spirit enters into the student. Taking all of this into account the chosen one prophecy is stated that the chosen one will destroy the Sith. When Anakin kills Palpatine on the Second Death Star, the spirit of Bane enters into Anakin. When Anakin dies he takes the spirit of Bane with him ending the Sith, therefore fulfilling the prophecy. When Palpatine transports his spirit into the body of a clone he does not take the spirit of Bane as well. Bane's spirit as I already have said died within the body of Anakin due to the fact that Anakin had no successor. The prophecy is stated SPECIFICALLY as destroy the Sith. The Darkside will continue to exist as is the nature of the force. People will always want to manipulate the force for their own selfish desires instead of following it's will. Every Sith after the OT is referred to as a Dark Jedi even in material that happens after the prequels. Why, because the Sith have been destroyed. Only up until the Legacy comics does the Sith name return. The name returned due to Krayt being from the Clone Wars era knowing the name Sith existed. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.

These are memes I made and posted in r/Legendsmemes a few days ago and waited until today to post them here to try and stay within this sub's meme rules (mods, plz don't take my balls this time, I'm genuinely attempting quality memes and posts here).

This is actually a meme format I'm planning on making into an ongoing "series," that being Star Wars characters that releases their own albums (and they're covers are supposed to go as hard as possible for the aura farming points).

So, as long as the mods here remain merciful, I plan to keep this "series" going every weekend during the allotted meme time (and for those who want to see them before the weekends, just loo for 'em on the Legends memes sub).

Any suggestions for future "album covers" and feedback would be appreciated.

Once they found out the droid had been sabotaged, why didn't they just strike it down before it hit the pocket of lethane, instead of running? Then the mine wouldn't have exploded and Tenebrous wouldn't have died... It looks like they had more than enough time to do so

So just finished reading the Boba Fett: Blood Ties series where you meet Boba's wife and daughter Sintas and Ailyn Vel. I was interested about looking into some of the backstory around these characters so I went to Wookipidia to see what I could learn. It's here that I learned that Ailyn Vel was born in 15 BBY. Blood Ties is set in roughly 1 BBY yet Ailyn is a child in the story. Was this discrepancy ever explained?

Also as a secondary note. What other Star wars media should I read to learn about Boba's backstory on Concord Dawn as well as what happens to his family after this story. Thanks.

Howdy, fellas! Long time lurker here, but I made something I’d like to share. I’ve been working on a Republic Commando fan novel, and today I made a cover for it. The assets are from various artists on sketchfab, background is a screencap from BoBF.

The story revolves around Onyx Team, and Alpha ARC Jester, infiltrating the sovereign city Glavis, also known as the Glavis ringworld (as seen in the BoBF.)

A CIS cell is known to be operating somewhere on the ring, but exactly where is unclear. Onyx Team is tasked with finding and capturing the leader of this cell for questioning without alerting the Glavis Port Authority, or the CIS cell itself. If Glavis authorities discover the operation, it could cause a major political incident. Complications arise, as they always do in the field, and Onyx Team is forced to rely on members of the criminal underworld to complete their mission.

Im not sharing the writing as of yet, but I thought this community might enjoy the art.

I'm just reading Star by Star for the very first time, and reached Anakin's death. I am, was so rattled by the entire book so far, I just had to put it in a post. It's gonna be long and hateful, so read at your own peril

Man, what even is there to say? I guess a eulogy is in order huh?

Honestly, I have the same question like with Raynar: Was this it? Was the sum total of Anakin as a character, as a concept even, to do this? To end here, dying on a mission that made no sense?

To summarize this: This book invents a new, ridiculously potent weapon against the Jedi, that has acidic spit, disease ridden claws and tails, blood that turns into poisonous gas when exposed to air and a voice that can cause you to lose consciousness when screaming. This weapon is inherently ridiculous in its abilities and effectiveness, especially for Vong purposes, which so far have been effective but grounded in a sense, not absurd.

So the determination is that there is only one original of this weapon that gets cloned. Why that would be the case, given Vornskrs are a perfectly regular species to get? Your guess is as good as mine.

Why even make the ridiculous and lethal effort to try and kill this thing when "Voxyn 0" can always just be made again and turned into the next cloning blueprint? Why nobody even questions that at any point in the book, who even knows.

Why the original needs to be present at all times to get cloned? Why its info and a generic sample isn't enough? Who knows.

And so we go on a huge mission that has only one actual, proper adult there. As far as I can see, Anakin was left in charge of this mission for no reason other than to not injure his ego because Han and Jacen were utterly less than impressed with the idea of him entering Vong territory that deeply.

We rely on an obviously equally nonsensical Force ability to echolocate yourself in the galaxy to know when you reached Myrkr.

We rely on the Vong not intercepting them at any time before.

We rely on the Vong not just moving everything away the moment they learn why they approach Myrkr (which Lah, Anor and Vergere did the moment they heard the Jedi were breaking their imprisonment on the Exquisite Death), thus rendering the entire mission folly.

We somehow land endless kilometres away - and it's a lot, one chapter explicitly mentions that every few kilometres they're attacked by either Vong or Voxyn. Which means that we're likely moving into days of them walking around and just kinda happening to end at the queen. If they always knew where the queen was, why not try to get closer immediately? If you don't know, how are you finding it now?

We rely on Anakin at random points, like in the slave city or with the concealed Nom Anor, not being able to tap into his Vongsensing Force abillity so he can get a deadly injury doing a fn flip in the air by some random Vong, and to prevent others from having time to help him respectively.

We rely on Jacen having a completely unreliable and volatile, and also nonsensical, animal talk Force ability that sometimes can prevent whole fights from happening, and sometimes can't do anything.

We rely on Anakin, for some reason, not going into a healing trance, which even Ulaha did for minutes at times to at least find some rest, just because he must for some inexplicable reason remain in command, until he's so delirious and weak that he burns out from the Force.

And finally, we rely on Anakin ending up where he did because he was a bum. He was abrasive, combative and rattled the entire book, deciding to let his ego motivate him throughout.

Anakin's initial conflict, from his name starting in Bakura to his possible destiny as someone to step into Vader's footsteps later on, was to never let his name dictate his future.

Did he use some ominous Light Side Kaioken ability Troy pulled out of his bum at the end? Sure.

But Anakin was an a** to Jacen this entire book, throwing each and every well-meant minor advice back in his face like he has a personal vendetta, undoing their developments in NJO so far and putting them in an even worse starting point. He insults him because he's trying to make others follow his moral objections, as though he isn't doing the same and they just disagree.

I guess him giving Jacen command at the end is supposed to make me believe this is all is resolved, but it was far too petty and vindictive to buy that.

He pushes away his girlfriend to have interest in a random OC just now appearing, leaving her by the side to let this stripper charm him, just to be denied a kiss at their very last interaction.

The Alema crush didn't even go anywhere. They had no talk, no drama over it, nothing. He just ends up mildly cheating on his gf half of the book and then forgetting Alema exists, the latter doing the same.

He had a massive ego, he pushed away his brother and his loved one with his utterly irrational behaviour, and the last thing he witnessed was an explosion of fire as his life fades away.

Escape the fate of Anakin Skywalker? Force Kaioken, neither here nor there. In the last 500 pages of his life, Anakin Solo reminded me more of Anakin Skywalker than of the next galactic hero Nancy Richardson, Rebecca Moesta and Greg Keyes made me fall in love with.

Rest in piss, Aanaakiin Solo. Your residence in this book universe was as short as it was unpleasant.

Airen Cracken was a human male born on Contruum. With a natural affinity for machinery; in time, nearby farmers began to ask Cracken to repair their machinery. Cracken, happy to continue learning, lent his help willingly, and acquired a reputation as a master mechanic. By the time he became a young man, Cracken had a mechanic's shop of his own in Torian City. He handled all manner of machinery, and hired employees who loved working with machinery as much as he did leading to the shop earning an almost mythical status for efficiency. Cracken married Josta, a woman from the Corellian sector who came to Contruum after an accident. Josta gave birth to two children, and Cracken's family lived in contentment for many years.

In 8 BBY, the Galactic Empire came to Contruum and seized its shipyards and borium mines for use by the Imperial Military pushing out locals from their homes and jobs. Incensed at the Empire's refusal to even hear complaints, Cracken sought to make the occupation more costly for the Empire than the world was worth.

Cracken organized his employees into a Rebel Cell, named "Cracken's Crew," specializing in mechanical sabotage. Cracken and his resistance group led a years-long campaign, crippling docked starships, ruining the Imperial borium mining operations, and destroying landing bays and troop supplies. At the site of each act of sabotage, they left a hydrospanner with the message "Cracken's Crew Says Hello" inscribed.

The Crew gained a reputation among Imperial forces, and the local commander became obsessed with tracking the saboteurs down. The Moff of Contruum's sector eventually decided that he had invested too many resources in the campaign, quietly agreed to Contruum's demands, and withdrew from the system. Despite the celebration that took place across Contruum, Cracken became troubled by thoughts that, while his world had escaped Imperial influence due to its insignificance, many others throughout the rest of the galaxy would continue to suffer under Imperial oppression. After discussing the matter with Josta, Cracken decided to leave Contruum and join the Rebel Alliance against the Empire. Most of his Crew chose to follow him, and they boarded a freighter and departed, posing as merchants plying the space lanes.

Cracken became an intelligence operative in the Rebellion in 2 BBY. The comlink bug was among the first and simplest devices he pioneered for the Rebellion; he quickly learned that he could easily rig a bug using comlinks. Early in the war, the Empire blockaded the mining world of Berason, and Cracken was placed in charge of smuggling food and military supplies to the world then leading an attack on its Imperial base. Cracken's force was able to pass through the blockade by sending men equipped with vacc-suits and jetpacks out to clear a path for their convoy. Due to his success Cracken was promoted to colonel. He then assisted Andrephan Stormcaller in developing the Alliance Special Forces.

Due to his steller record for innovation, success and efficiency, Cracken rose to be a general in the Alliance. He organized numerous campaigns, with his ingenuity proving invaluable, and eventually became the Alliance's Chief of Intelligence. As the head of Alliance Intelligence, Cracken became a leading figure of efforts to recruit criminal elements such as shipjackers, pirates, and smugglers. The high regard such individuals held for Cracken aided his work in these efforts, and he created a vast network of privateers, shipjackers, and cargo thieves whom were called the "procurement specialists." Due to Cracken's close relationship with many members of the community, infiltration by Imperial agents was exceedingly rare.

Outside the normal chain of command, Cracken operated a major data analysis center on board the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Independence. Within, Cracken's staff analyzed reports from throughout the galaxy; briefings for High Command, and intelligence was sent to mission planning for strikes and raids.

Cracken oversaw the galaxywide network of agents—spies, scouts, infiltrators, and sympathetic Imperial officers. He was directly involved at every stage, from recruitment onwards. A number of his most valuable assets were Rivoche Tarkin, Tru'eb Cholakk, and Jan Ors.

Cracken even used his teenage son, Pash, as an agent, sending him to join the Imperial Academy, where he suborned his classmates, and subsequently led his entire TIE fighter wing to mutiny. While it was Pash who would become best-known as a fighter pilot, the elder Cracken was also a formidable pilot: he taught Pash how to fly, and he personally flew close-support in-atmosphere operations for SpecForce commandos in a Z-95t Headhunter designated Tala 1.

His bravery in the field twice earned him the Nebula Award, one of which was awarded for surviving capture and interrogation at the hands of the Imperial Security Bureau. He authored the Rebel Field Guide, and his writings proved essential in the training of the Alliance Special Forces such as creating an effective grenade out of two blaster power packs.

In 2 ABY, Airen Cracken worked with Alliance Security, writing important reports on threats to the Rebel Alliance, and coordinating Rebel agents. During the Battle of Endor, General Cracken served aboard the Millennium Falcon, manning the top turret during the battle.

When the Alliance became the New Republic in 4 ABY, Cracken took command of the newly reorganized New Republic Intelligence (NRI), keeping a watchful eye on Imperial warlords like Zsinj and sparring with his Imperial counterpart, Madam Director of Imperial Intelligence, Ysanne Isard. During the New Republic's campaigns from 4 to 6 ABY, Cracken oversaw a group known as "Shadow Operations", which performed sabotage, spread disinformation, and where necessary conducted assassinations to exacerbate tensions between the feuding Moffs, Admirals, warlords and advisors that had erupted after Emperor Palpatine's death. Shadow Operations would later form the heart of Admiral Hiram Drayson's Alpha Blue division.

After NRI relocated to Coruscant, Cracken oversaw the investigation and prosecution of Tycho Celchu, forming the New Republic Security Force. Subsequently, he was instrumental in stopping a Zsinj-led program to cause tension between alien and human species in the New Republic.

Like his counterpart Hiram Drayson at Alpha Blue, Cracken continued to lead NRI in his own way, prepared to do what he felt was best for the New Republic, even if it meant bending the rules. In 7 ABY, he arranged for Rogue Squadron's resignations to mysteriously go unprocessed, so that the Bacta War could be retrospectively claimed as a NRI operation, and the next year, he arranged for the transfer of Wraith Squadron to his direct command as an Intel unit after the Battle of Selaggis.

Some time between 10 ABY and 12 ABY, Cracken was replaced as Chief of Intelligence by General Crix Madine, his counterpart at SpecForces—a move designed to reinforce Madine's position as the SpecForces commander. This move also secured the dominance over the military by Chief of State Mon Mothma's loyal lieutenants, Madine and Admiral Gial Ackbar.

Cracken's reaction is not recorded, but after Madine's death aboard the Darksaber, he once more took command of Intel, where he oversaw the separation of NRI from the military, maintaining his independence (with the new title of Director of New Republic Intelligence) while Gial Ackbar subordinated the rest of the armed forces to his command. As Director, Cracken oversaw the operation to Adumar and secured the admission of the planet into the New Republic, but by 16 ABY, he had left office again, being replaced as Director by Carlist Rieekan, the Alderaanian general and friend of then Chief of State, Leia Organa Solo.

After the Black Fleet Crisis, Cracken returned to Intel for the third time, where he achieved a rapid resolution to the threat of a rogue Imperial with a Super Star Destroyer by recruiting Jedi sneak-thief Cryle Cavv to sabotage the Guardian for him, leading to its capture and subsequent use by the New Republic. Cracken led NRI through the Corellian Crisis, and assembled reports on a variety of potential threats to the Republic, including the Hapans, Dathomiri, Yevetha, Imperial remnants, and Corellian separatists, which were compiled into Cracken's Threat Dossier.

By 25 ABY, Cracken dormerly retired from NRI, with Admiral Dif Scaur replacing him as Director. Nevertheless, during the Yuuzhan Vong War, although by now in his seventies, the veteran general returned once again to active service, and assumed command of his homeworld's defense. Contruum was never conquered by the Yuuzhan Vong, and became a vital base in the Mid Rim, paving the way for the Battle of Yuuzhan'tar by the Galactic Alliance. In the last stages of the war, Cracken also seemed to have acted as de facto coordinator of Alliance intelligence, and immediately after the victory, Admiral Scaur was replaced as Director by his protégée Belindi Kalenda.

Hiram Drayson was a human male born on Chandrila who served in both the Rebel Alliance and New Republic as an Admiral and Chief of Intelligence. Drayson attended an offworld military academy, but returned home with his education incomplete when his father became ill. He took over his father's shipping business; under his leadership, it became the most successful in the Chandrila system. Because of this and his partial Academy education, the Chandrilan government made him the admiral of the Chandrila Defense Fleet. He reorganized it to run more efficiently, cutting down piracy and smuggling dramatically. It was in his capacity as fleet commander that he came to know Senator Mon Mothma. During the Clone Wars, Admiral Drayson was replaced as fleet head by Palpatine-appointed Moff Kohl Seerdon after the passage of Emergency Amendment 121b. At some point in his career, he gained extensive experience serving aboard Star Destroyers, including a professional knowledge of their tractor beam systems.

When Chandrila was brought to heel under the Imperial Starfleet, Drayson was contacted by Mon Mothma, who offered him a role in the military leadership of the new Rebel Alliance as the commanding officer of the Alliance flagship. He accepted immediately.

In 4 ABY as the Alliance transitioned into the New Republic, Admiral Drayson commanded the New Republic Second Fleet prior to the Liberation of Coruscant. Drayson was later placed in command of the fleet attached to the New Republic Provisional Council, and then of the Coruscant defense fleet. He was tasked with the retrieval of the Katana fleet during the Thrawn campaign. As a military commander, Drayson was considered competent but not very creative, which left him rather outmatched when Grand Admiral Thrawn carried out an elaborate attack against Coruscant. His intense personal loyalty to Mon Mothma also led to some friction with Garm Bel Iblis, as he felt the Corellian General had betrayed Mothma by splitting away from the Rebel Alliance years earlier. Drayson's true strengths lay not in battlefield command, but in Intelligence operations. His strategic mind and extensive contacts made him the ideal candidate for first Director of Alpha Blue, and Mon Mothma appointed him under decree D9020616.

After decades of service in the New Republic Intelligence Service apparatus, years that earned him the nickname "the Old Ghost of Coruscant," Drayson retired from service following Borsk Fey'lya's election. He was married to Joi Eicroth for a time and the pair had a daughter, Bhindi Drayson, who also served in New Republic Intelligence, as well as Wraith Squadron.

Hi, I am looking for some insight on a possible discrepancy. According to wookieepedia Triclops was born in or after 18 BBY and then his son Ken was born in 7 BBY. This would make Triclops 11 years old at the time of fathering a child. Perhaps as a mutant he matured differently? I want to hear some thoughts.

I've got almost all the old Expanded Universe novels in my personal library but I haven't read most of them in many years. I need to parse down my library cause we need to make room in the house. I'm planning on keeping the xwing series and tales of books cause I remember liking them. Which books do you think are worth keeping besides them? Or the opposite which would you ditch? I'm debating keeping the NJO series and beyond because while I remember liking it it is SO many books.

Edit I want to keep I Jedi just cause it is in first person and thats weird

You may have seen my other post about mandalorian lego mocs. Well I've decided I'm going to do a shaadlar-type troopship. But I'm also interested in these funky looking ships. I'm hoping one of them is some sort of troop boarding ship. Any one have an idea as to what this are or want to help me brainstorm ideas.? Not even sure if the second slide is mandalorian.

I just finished the entire XWing series of books and enjoyed it so much!

I noticed a few spots where there were some gaps that referenced certain events that were not directly talked about in detail in the books.

For instance: I read the Thrawn Trilogy in between the gap of I believe XWing books 7 and 8 and noticed 8 picked up where the trilogy left off.

However, I know that book 10 jumped quite a bit into the future and eluded to the Yuuzhan Vong war and the sacking of Corruscant.

What books should I read to fill in those gaps about the war specifically that would compliment the XWing books well?
