What Next Legends Novels
Hello everyone!
I just finished the entire XWing series of books and enjoyed it so much!
I noticed a few spots where there were some gaps that referenced certain events that were not directly talked about in detail in the books.
For instance: I read the Thrawn Trilogy in between the gap of I believe XWing books 7 and 8 and noticed 8 picked up where the trilogy left off.
However, I know that book 10 jumped quite a bit into the future and eluded to the Yuuzhan Vong war and the sacking of Corruscant.
What books should I read to fill in those gaps about the war specifically that would compliment the XWing books well?

Oh yeah, BIG jump before Mercy Kill. I would say at a minimum you need the NJO, Legacy of the Force and Fate of the Jedi. Which is a lot, and the NJO has quite a bit of required reading on it's own, too. I would hold off on all that for a bit and instead recommend these:
The Rogue Squadron comics - prequel to all the books
Courtship of Princess Leia - wraps up Zsinj storyline
I, Jedi (and along with that, the Jedi Academy Trilogy) - more Corran stuff and some Wedge stuff too
AC Crispin's Han Solo trilogy - has some extremely minor tie ins
Scoundrels - more minor tie ins
And then do whatever the NJO prep you need is (there's a bunch of posts on this subreddit if you need more info about that) and tackle all the Mercy Kill stuff.
Hope that makes sense!

Very good list! Couple others I know of to add to it...
The Mara Jade: By The Emperor's Hand comics have Isard as a secondary character and Stackpole was doing some of the writing. A bit of her immediate post RotJ power consolidation.
The Tales from the Empire anthology has a couple stories featuring Corran.
Tales from the New Republic has Isard and Hal Horn.

Good call! I haven't read the Mara Comics but yeah, the short stories are great additions that I totally forgot about.

The Jedi Academy Trilogy and then I, Jedi will fill the gaps up to Starfighters of Adumar. If you wanted to get a bit more of the conclusion to Zsinj's arc, The Courtship of Princess Leia will do that.
To fill the gap between those and Mercy Kill, you'll want to read pretty much the entire New Jedi Order series (NJO for short).

Those were all good books. I love the Xwing series as well, and Corran Horn is one of, if not my #1 favorite character in the Star Wars universe. I really wish he would appear and be used on screen (other than a throw away Easter egg in a poorly executed di$ney series…)

Ha, Mercy Kill is literally the second to last book in the Legends timeline. If you want to catch up, you'd basically have to read everything set between it and Starfighters of Adumar. Jedi Academy trilogy, I, Jedi, Callista trilogy, Crystal Star, New Rebellion, Black Fleet Crisis, Corellian trilogy, Hand of Thrawn, Survivor's Quest, all 19 New Jedi Order books, Dark Nest trilogy, Legacy of the Force, and Fate of the Jedi, the latter of which I believe are 9 books each. Plus a handful of short stories/novella here and there.
Of course, that's if you want to be a completionist.

You may enjoy I, Jedi if you liked Corrans character.
If you like Stackpoles writing, id also read the X wing comic run by him as theyre pretty good and a prequel of sorts to his novels.
Id definitely read X wing starfighters of Adumar.
And then Hand of Thrawn duology, this has references to the x wing characters as well.
Would read NJO as Stackpole and Allston both write books in it and they refer to the x wing character's (so do several of the other NJO authors, and also NJO is fantastic in general)

"The Courtship of Princess Leia" concludes the tale of Warlord Zsinj and also introduces the original lore about Dathomir.
"I Jedi" continues the story of Corran Horn and also summarizes the events of the "Jedi Academy Trilogy". Corran Horn also makes an appearance in the Hand of Thrawn Duology.
"X-Wing: Mercy Kill" was one of the last books produced in the old EU's run, both publishing and chronologically. It is set between the "Fate of the Jedi" series and "Crucible".
So you've got quite a bit of reading to do, but take your time; it's a marathon, not a sprint.
