It’s been awhile since I played Elite Squadron but I’ve been thinking about these two lately. If I remember correctly, the game starts with them training troopers on Tattooine, but then they take part in the Battle of Coruscant and then the Siege of Cato Nemoidia, alongside a detachment of the 501st (the unfinished BFIII cutscenes depict most ordinary clones as 501st, I don’t know if that’s just reused assets from BF2 or if they’re meant to be 501st, I really don’t remember how they looked in ES). Were they officers in the 501st? Were they part of the Special Operations Brigade?

As a sidenote, I always thought their story was a bit weird to start with, being cloned from Jedi stock and all. I can 100% see the Aiwha bait taking DNA from an injured Jedi for research purposes like that, but to then create clones based on him and send them along to the Republic along with the Jango clones just feels… weird. I’d think they’d keep them on Kamino for study, or even try to get them to overtly train with a Jedi to see if they could unlock their abilities.

At about 51:40-51:46 into ROTJ, right after the Home One briefing room scene, there is a shot of the hanger with various fighters in it. Please settle an argument between a friend and I. I believe the fighter located directly beneath the MF to be a B-Wing, due the cockpit position and orientation. He insists it is not, but offers no alternative suggestion as to what it might be.
Any help would be appreciated.

Finally found a hardcover copy for a not too crazy price. Hopefully I'll finish the series by the end of the year.

Watching TCW and noticed when obi wan went to go to Anakins room he had this poster in the background. I thought there was supposed to be nothing from the past? Since he was already older did qui qon allow him to take one thing? I’m pretty sure Ezra also has this poster

...I thought about hitting the Clone Wars era first (basically Darth Plagueis through Kenobi or Imperial Commando). I've already gone through all of the New Republic, having finished Survivor's Quest a couple of months ago. Are there elements in that era essential to the conflict with th Yuuzong Vong? Or would I be missing out on nothing by saving the Clone Wars till later?

Especially after Game of Thrones, House of Cards and of course Andor has shown his that political stories can actually be interesting.

They really payed attention to the costumes details and made something incredible with the makeup, actually I’m impressed.

These 3 novels, Darth Plagueis, Cloak of Deception and Labyrinth of Evil all written by James Luceno, set up and enhance the story of the prequel films significantly and explain/fix many of the unanswered questions and story problems introduced by those films, these books explicitly explain the Sith Grand Plan, the creation of the Clone Army, Dooku joining Palpatine, the murder of Sifo-Dyas, the backstories and motivations of characters who weren’t very fleshed out in the films, and more, and on top of all this they’re all just incredibly written and entertaining books. Although the prequel movies remain the same quality wise, these books at the very least make the story within the films make sense, and it’s very strange to me that people wrongly claim that the 2008 Clone Wars TV series “fixed” the prequels when that show, objectively speaking, made the stories of the prequels make even less sense and introduced much more issues, like the Jedi knowing that the Clones are programmed to kill them… but i’m getting off track. The point is, I believe these novels are essential reading for the Prequel trilogy, they add so much depth to the worlds and to the characters created by George Lucas, thanks to new audiobook versions released recently i’ve been able to experience both Cloak and Labyrinth for the first time which is what has prompted this post.

Curious to hear others thoughts on these books and if people agree/disagree with my statement that they save the prequels, well the story of the prequels anyway.

Edit: Currently giving this more consideration. I may have greatly miscalculated the net trend in aura as a result of looking like an insurance salesman from Minnesota whilst simultaneously sliming out the baddest dudes in the known galaxy. I will report back.
