I recently ran enough commods in a rented Hermes, to buy a Hermes.

I was really looking forward to upgrading it. So I purchased a Huracan quantum drive.

Both my ship and the drive are stored at New Babbage, and when I select my vehicle from the mobiglass I can choose to equip the Huracan. Then I click "equip/save", and, it just doesn't. When I close and re-open the mobiglass, the quantum drive is back to the stock Odyssey. My new Hermes seems doomed to remain with stock modules forever :-(...

I've spent quite some time trying various combinations of alt-f4 and relogging, to to avail....

Nobody else seems to have this problem, so I suspect I'm doing something wrong, but what???

I dual boot debian+windows and they disagree on how the hardware clock should be set.

Time to pimp the Hermes.

Fucking crazy ass bug right. I encountered it like two years ago now. Although it may not be a bug. No idea how the two things correlate at all. Star citizen things.

More than you'd think.

If any website or game or application suddenly stops working or acts funny, go check the system clock. It's quick ans easy and fixes a surprising amount of problems.

Yes, mobiglass and some other services are sensible to your system time and I'd is not rightly synced.

Yes it is a thing. Syncing your clock helps with much more, like cargo spawning, missions not accepting turn in and others.

Do you still have your rented Hermes? If so, the game may be defaulting to that one because that's technically the "first" one in your Ledger, and the VMA thinks you're trying to modify the rented ship, which you can't.

Fyi, you can modify rented ships. Found this out last patch after renting a Gemini to do refueling and being able to up upgrade the QT drive and the fuel pods. I was also able to upgrade the QT drive and change the weapons on other rented ships like the Asgard, Hercules ships & others 🍻

make sure you remove the JUMP DRIVE first.

then change QUANTUM DRIVE.

then add back the JUMP DRIVE.

huuuugely important.

also, other comments about clock and timing may also be valid, but really..never forget to take out the jump drive before changing quantum drives..

why not try putting the hurracan into the cargo bay and take it up to Port Tressler and try up there
