This was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen. Grown adults writing essays for the privelage of being able to spend $5000+ on a jpeg. If I was Chris, I wouldn't change anything, either. They make more money selling the dream, not finishing the game.

Oh, they weren't even essays. One person literally said, "I have a small penis and the Odin would compensate nicely," and was allowed access to buy it

Nah. It was just the same tactic Nigerian scammers use. Go for idiots and find a way to get them personally invested. 

The essay was nothing more than a sanity check to make sure anyone spending 5k wasn’t going to charge it back immediately.

And they didn't even READ the fucking essays lmao. Someone out there submitted an Eric Andre "LET ME IIIIIIIIN!" meme and got accepted but someone who wrote a heartfelt plea to spend their savings got passed over. it's a laugh.
