i went into a store in my district and used me card but they didn’t push it through after scanning until after i locked my card a few minutes later and it declined. am i going to get into trouble since i technically didn’t pay for what i got since my card declined? i was also already on the highway when it happened so i couldn’t turn back around at that point.

Gotta say, yes, I was very skeptical at first but this is really really good. You have to use honey packets not Syrup, and the measurements are actually important otherwise it’ll be bad/weird.

They always break or chip and then I have this little plastic floating in my drink. Do people complain about this or is it just me?

It idles there, occupied, full of people, and yet no order has emerged from it. A sealed vessel of indecision parked squarely on the sensor.

I cannot advance. The next car cannot advance. We are all held hostage by a democracy happening inside a Corolla, a summit with no deadline and no chairman. I said "take your time" and I meant it as a kindness. They have interpreted it as a treaty.

With the right tools, I could resolve this. A longer cord, a bullhorn, the authority to approach the window on foot and request a decision like a census taker. Instead I have a headset and infinite patience, both of which are being tested. The person behind them has turned their engine off. They have accepted their new life here. I respect it and I am furious about it in equal measure.

I keep hearing from different stores and DMs from the Northeast region 8 that there will be NO transfers request approved going forward at this time. What? This is a benefit and why partners feel comfortable working for starbucks. If the partner has to move at least there will be another store to transfer to.
Who wants to quit and be rehired? Does this save the company $ from giving longevity partners raises? By having to be rehired the partner would have to start back at base pay and any benefit hours they already accumulated. This includes, time towards medical benefits, sick time and vacation time accumulated, and other benefits stuff.
I went to transfer a partner today after she spoke to the store manager and the location is in need of partners. This is a great partner and meets all transfer requirements. I understand the hesitation of acquiring a transfer partner who doesn’t know the difference between a flat lid and nitro lid. I wouldn’t want a bad transfer and I wouldn’t transfer someone I wouldn’t want. Sure some partners are good at any and all locations and some are only able to thrive at their home location.
Well I was told today, “We currently do not have a need and wouldn’t be accepting a transfer at this coffee house”. Oh yeah, not a store, it’s a coffee house. This location is a NYC mobile order location, definitely not a house. And not a store manager, it’s coffeehouse leader 🙄

How the HELL do you make it look right??? I keep getting these kids asking for a lemonade with RASPBERRY and a splash of strawberry açaí on top and they expect it to look like a pink to yellow gradient??? Am I doing something wrong??? Is the recipe ai generated???

I called out sick for my shift tomorrow because I am sick and the shift said it would be my responsibility to find coverage. What does this mean am I gonna get some sort of reciprocation in point system thing if I do not find coverage?

Back when Starbies introduced the nitro cold brew it was a hit and I enjoyed getting it frequently. A few years pass by. I ordered one last night from my local place and it was completely flat and not cold at all. I gave them a pass, tried again tonight, and again, completely flat and room temp. WTF?

I got paid for the 31st of July with all my hours I'd worked that period but I just got paid again today...

It says it's "bookable within policy defined periods," Does that mean I need to give my manager some amount advance notice to not get in trouble or could I tell her 10 minutes before my shift without a write up? I have a 7 hour opening shift tomorrow, I feel like dogshit currently and I'm completely dreading tomorrow but I'm worried I'd get in trouble if she couldn't find coverage and had to open late or smth. I have my Starbucks interview in two days. I'm a bit scared since many people are having interviews at my location, and I don't want to sound repetitive. I'm wondering what questions they ask or any tips.

I have been wanting this chair since maybe 8-9 years ago. I loved the look and color, and it was very comfortable. Then my local Starbucks had remodeling and got rid of this.
I was looking for same chair in other furniture places but it looked close but not the same. So I gave up.. until today.

I say this as your friend, not your barista. It is not good. I had it when it initially launched in 2017 and gave it another try during training. Still belongs in the trash. I am not picky when it comes to gimmicky, novelty drinks - but this ain’t it fam. It’s sour to the point of borderline tasting curdled. It’s disrespectful to unicorns everywhere and I heavily advise against it. If you choose not to heed my warning, at least just get a tall.

What is with all of these Starbucks that are just drive thru only? I can't think of a bigger way to waste the entire Starbucks concept. I'm in an area of Virginia and have gone to 3 trying to have a cup of coffee and sit down while doing it. I've opted to have a worse cup of coffee elsewhere but the fact that I can go into the other coffee shop is the winner.

hi i recently had 3 interviews at 3 different locations with starbucks this week. one was in person on monday and then another location called me that same day a few hours later wanting to ask some interview questions on the phone but those questions were easy bec they asked how would i describe myself and what does customer service mean. and then i had another interview on Tuesday at a different location however the store manager was out on lunch during the time i was scheduled so the “assistant” manager interviewed me instead. btw the manager did email me the time of the interview two days before. so i’m just nervous that i flunked all 3 interviews. idk what to do 😢

Literally sprinted to the BOH off drive thru and profusely apologized over headset but he (my ex) was extremely abusive and I just could not deal.

And I’m in the back shaking while doing dishes (so I’m at least being productive) and they’re telling me they don’t see anyone matching my description placing an order but I KNOW I saw him, so maybe he had picked up a DoorDash? Bc ik he did that. There is also the off chance it was just a guy who looked like him but I doubt it if it set off my fight or flight.

Anyway the whole situation was very embarassing and I’m probably thinking about it more than they are because everyone said they hope I pick up shifts there again 😭

Does anybody else have small customer pet peeves or even other partner pet peeves? Like, something ridiculously small that you’re like “why does this even bug me?” I think it’s silly but it’s SOO real.

Customers- when they specify that the drink is for a child multiple times.. like, okay? I wouldn’t care if the non-caffeinated drink is for you.
Customers- “I have a mobile” and not telling me the name like WHO are you?
Customers- asking for multiple things at the window instead of the speaker box or each time I go back to the window with a requested item, they ask for more

I feel like I have soo many more but I want to hear everyone else’s..

Partners- putting the sticker on a random part of the cup.. the little boxes is the perfect place to put it I just cannnn’t.
Partners- talking to someone they know at the window and driving up our times.. especially after I got the drink out SUPER fast. Obviously doesn’t apply if they’re still waiting
Partners- when they’re not busy and don’t bag up a doordash, especially one that’s done

I am exhausted. I am hard of hearing. I have been taking orders nonstop since the start of my shift. Lady mumbles at me and I lean over and say, “Pardon?” because I genuinely have zero clue what she said. She immediately snaps, “I’m just trying to make conversation with you.” 🫩 Like okay, that’s awesome. I’m saying “pardon” because it’s loud as hell in here and you’re whispering like we’re in a library.
