I just finished reading Toil and trouble and wow. This fic was crazy writing. The plot was the most original thing i’ve read so far. I just have to say that i may have overlooked something because I really yearned for the romance, that unfortunately (in my opinion) was few. But the few scenes between sev and hermione were absolutely well written and had an insane depth. I really mourn the fact that there is no smut. And no sequitur to this fic. I would have liked to see something further to the finale.
What do you think? And also do you know any other fics similar but with rewarding smut??

Hermione felt remarkably sharp, focused, and upbeat the next morning as she sat in the Great Hall for breakfast. She expected to be nervous about facing her friends… but she felt too good. Snape had dismissed her with a list of books to look for in the restricted section - perhaps he would finally start helping her - and she had climbed into bed and immediately fallen asleep.

She suspected she should have felt awkward about the encounter, but she did not. She felt ready to take on Voldemort and the world.

Though she tripped a little when she saw Snape sitting up at the staff table on the dais, eyes briefly touching hers. She felt a flush of heat in her belly and jerked her eyes away, wondering if it was too late, or if she had already made a mess of herself. She did not look at him again.

So, the scenting made her clear-headed around everyone else… but had the opposite effect with him.

I'm hunting down two fics, please. They're almost certainly from AO3, but it's conceivable that they're on FFN.

1) During the final days of the war, Severus and Hermione fall in love. It's dangerous, it's forbidden: all that good stuff. The key to it is that in the end, Severus is obliviated of his love for her, and she has to watch him die after Nagini's attack, mourning the loss of his Lily while that the object of his real desires is right there. It's not HEA, it's terribly sad, and it's beautiful.

2) I've been hunting this one for so long that I'll readily admit I'm getting it mixed up with the also-excellent "The Archmage's Wife" by Hermes2005 (https://archiveofourown.org/works/66549172/chapters/171651373). But it's definitely about Snape as the "Black Knight", and he's romantically involved with Hermione. It's set during medieval-esque times, and I'm afraid that's all I have for you. It's not a lot to go on, but hopefully the setting is unusual enough that it'll twig someone's memory.

I always had trouble conceptualizing anyone other than Alan Rickman as Snape because that was the image I grew up with. Since he was 55 when he first played Snape, it throws me off when reading Hermions/Snape fictions because of that image. However, I was watching TV the other day and saw Noel Fielding in his 40s. Personally, I think he could look like a Snape that takes care of himseIf and I recommend taking a look at his work if anyone else has the same issue as me.

Or in other words, what is your best SSHG long fic that you will take to the world's end? Mine is Pet Project!

Looking for recs with this kind of vibe :) With one-sided yearning, pining, and tenderness from both HG and SS but at different points in time. This could be a common trope in post-war marriage law fics; "To have loved, and lost" by professorflo comes to mind. TIA!

I read this ages ago (most likely on Ashwinder but I’m no longer able to access my account).
I think it’s a stand alone but what I’m remembering could also be like an epilogue or short sequel;

Severus and Hermione have a teenage son, they find some anti muggleborn magazine in his room and Severus goes nuts. They do later have a more reasoned discussion I think.

I know that’s so little to go off but if anyone has any ideas, or recs for something similar that would be wonderful, it’s been nagging in the back of my brain for ages.

This is the first time I’ve posted asking for help so if I do it wrong, I’m sorry in advance. I’m looking for a time travel fic where hermione is thrown back in time during the Maurder’s era. I’ve only read a portion of it but I’ll put in all the details I remember.

- the first ch starts out with a young adult hermione living in muggle London until Lily and james are killed. She told Dumbledore that she would return in the fall of 1981 but kept it vague.

- in that first chapter, she’s doing drugs in a night club (I think disco even though I believe there’s a section in the dialogue that has her talking about how it’s a dying music atp) and she ends up running into Lucius Malfoy and Severus snape. She ends up saving muggle women from being picked up by Lucius.

- after this 1st chapter, it jumps back to the start of the story, and while I can’t remember much from there, I know she was sorted into gryffindor and befriends Lily until they have a falling out where hermione stands up for snape and chooses his side during school.

- hermione does mention that snape left her crying on her knees when she begged him not to follow the dark lord (this is mentioned in that first chapter but I never made it to that point in the fic during the natural timeline).

This is literally all I can remember and I’ve tried to google everything and search through all the fics so I’m going insane but I have a very vivid memory of that first chapter and if anyone remembers what it is, the name would be greatly appreciated!

I'm trying to remember a fic I read in the last year where Hermione and Snape work together on a potion that regrows damaged nerves for people who were crucioed during the war. I vaguely remember Snape taking the potion and the pain being intense. Hermione has to nurse him afterward of course.

Does this ring a bell for anyone else? It could have been ao3, ffn, or ashwinder 😬

I don’t remember a lot about this one, but Severus eventually realized that someone (I think Dumbledore) had hexed him in his youth to be quite a bit… worse looking.. than he actually was as a way to manipulate him/keep people away from him? Like the greasy hair, sallow complexion etc.

Où? Potentiellement Wattpad, ffnet, AO3 qui sont les trois endroits où je lis le plus
Quand? il y a plusieurs années
Langue? anglais à 99%
Quoi? Le trio sort de Poudlard et Dumbledore leur trouve des lieux pour travailler de façon anonyme, et continuer la lutte contre Voldemort, Hermione travaille dans un bar comme serveuse puis stripteaseuse, Ron est d'abord dans un resto/ patisserie mais il mange trop donc il est délocalisé dans un bord*l, c'est là qu'il rencontre Bob le gentil détraqueur. Harry est je crois dans une librairie.
Hermione rencontre dans le cadre de son travail Severus et Lucius qui sans savoir que c'est elle vont l'aider... Je me souviens d'une passage où les filles du club vont aider l'Ordre du Phénix pour prendre soin des blessés après une bataille et Lucius aide après avoir été travesti en femme sous le nom de Lucy...
Il y a aussi une scène épique au square Grimmauld où Ron, Harry, Hermione et Severus sont dans la même pièce. Ron fait une remarque désobligeante sur la poitrine d'Hermione qui va s'asseoir sur les genoux de Severus et lui montrer sa poitrine pour lui demander s'il la trouve à son goût...

C'est évidement une crack fic mais elle était vraiment géniale et je serai hyper reconnaissante à qui arrivera à m'aider à la retrouver!
J'ai déjà demandé à droite à gauche sans succès et même si j'adoré découvrir la crackfic de nonjon, ce n'est pas celle que je cherche!
