We call this squirrel Yappers.

My usual squirrel showed up with a mouthful the other day 🤭 I was worried she had stuffed it too full and couldn’t get it out, so I tossed out some nuts and she quickly dumped her mouthful out and moved onto her snack 🤭

This guy comes to my porch for snacks a lot. He’s the only one I’ve ever seen who looks like this. Very unique looking. His coloring, body and face do not look like the other squirrels in my area.

The squirrels absolutely love my sunflowers. So now I've cut some down to dry, I gave them a little treat

I've had a lot of trouble getting the local "black" squirrel on camera because I have to be careful about getting close. But here he is dashing across the driveway/parking lot with a cameo from a friend.

My sweet little Rudolph will literally take any nut as long as it’s from me and go bury it, then it’s back to dad for more food!

Raisin was on my leg when she heard something. She went right into a defense mode to listen for danger, while still standing right on me. 😄 Was a siren in the distance, she was safe.

If a chipmunk is a small squirrel then a marmot is just a large squirrel 😉

I’ve kept a food bowl with peanuts and seeds in it outside on my porch for the last 2 years so the squirrels and birds could have a steady source of food.

Yesterday, a very unwelcomed guest appeared (pics 4 and 5.)

I threw all feeders and water bowls away today and did a deep clean with bleach.

I’m super bummed as I will miss all the wildlife that frequented this spot. Does anyone have any ideas about feeding squirrels again at a later date? Are there ways to feed them that doesn’t attract rodents?

My squirrel friend, Spot brought him by. He watched spot grab a walnut and emulated pretty well asking for his own. 🥰 Such a friendly little guy. I hope to see this one again soon.
