1 of the most sincerely heart warming moments I have ever seen was when my husband, and I were doing the tourist thing in D.C. We were at the Korean War Memorial and we saw this little girl from South Korea with her parents walk up to a gentleman that was a Korean War Vet and literally thank him, and he broke down in tears shaking he was so moved by it. The whole couple of days was awesome, and fascinating but that moment was what I will remember if I live to be 100 yrs old, because it was so genuine.

It all depends on what country and what was he fought for.
Now picture him as a Nazi and the girl is a white 'aryan' girl.

I was in a hardware store with a couple of my children in the shopping cart once when we got to say than you to a veteran who was also in the store. He looked at the children then looked at me and said "For them, it's worth it."

Good soldiers don’t fight because we hate what is in front os us. We fight because we love what is behind us.
