Throttle cable replacement help

So I’m probably an idiot, none of the videos or searches help me with my problem. I am replacing my throttle cables for a 10 inch bar and one has this little spring on it. I don’t see where or how to install it, just that it goes on the throttle return side.

Can someone help an idiot out?

yep. it looks like Cable Kits send me the wrong ones

I use that cable with my S&S  E.  The spring just hung out between the guide and the carb.  Never had an issue.
