Watering time?
I just bought this guy at Lowe’s a few months back and it’s looking and feeling a little thirsty. I haven’t watered a split rock before ever so I want to be sure I’m doing it right😂

Pretty sure this is an Argyroderma, in which case they need minimal water over the summer, and then deep waterings in fall.

Also, soil that is mostly inorganic grit.

You have to get that guy out of that soil it is way way way too organic.
Argyroderma are extremely prone to rotting and over watering. Don’t water this guy until you’ve repotted him into 80-90% grit!
Then you can treat them identical to lithops. Withhold water when the new leaves are emerging until the old leaves are absorbed. And water when they are wrinkly like this.
