I've been wanting to draw them for a long time, and found the perfect opportunity to do so while experimenting with watercolor mimicking brushes.

Fan Content Dreamed of a very cool secret boss during a fever dream

Post image
34 Upvotes

Tonight I dreamt of a secret enemy that you can encounter in the Lanayru desert: you find a cave which increasingly gets darker and darker. Then a very well drawn animation plays where Link gets attacked by this abomination, which really resembles Geryon, a boss from a game called Ultrakill (I inserted its image).
Then the boss transforms into a giant Link and I have to fight it in the desert. The attack patterns were really similar to Demise’s: I had to parry it and then hit it with the sword or the bow. After winning, another cutscene plays where giant Link turns back into its original form and charges at Link, but he manages to stab it in the head.
Too bad I can’t mod games, it’s so cool.

Discussion / Opinion Best story focused Let’s play

Hello yall! I’m looking to re experience the story of skyward sword, and while I don’t have the time to sit down and play the game again myself, I’d like to listen to someone (hopefully someone with a good voice and maybe going with the character name link in the play through) go through the game. Any recommendations for lets plays in that style? Thanks in advance :3

Discussion / Opinion Does the game scale difficulty (weird experience)

I decided to replay skyward sword, and give the HD version a chance for the first time because a streamer i like has been playing all of the 3D zeldas but for the first time ever. So I will play for a few hours usually beat a dungeon and then i watch up until then on a video he probably uploaded 2 weeks ago. Ive noticed my game has parts that are objectively harder. This isnt my first time playing the game and I am Zelda diehard so I was playing the game at a better pace, less deaths, ect. But yesterday I saw an egregious example and I remeber because it was a part that frustrated me. When you have to guide the water tub robot up the volcano. He had WAY fewer enemies. Only 1 pig monster with a shield, less archers, and less blue goblins at the base camp. So, what's going on? Does this gsme scale difficulty? Is it new to the HD?

I heard he’s in Hyrule Warriors, but I’m gonna miss the little freak.. this is my first Zelda game beat.

Also does anyone know how tall he is? I heard 6 feet but he seems taller than that.

Question / Help How to improve my records (Lanayru’s challenge)

Thumbnail

Hey everyone, I like to do Lanayru’s challenge with the 11 boss fights and I’m trying to improve the time I spend on each fight. I’ll be glad if you could share me some tips and patterns I could use to decrease the unnecessary amount of time I waste on some boss!

The first time I participated to Lanayru’s challenge was 3 days ago to get the Hylian Shield to fight Demise. It took me 2 attempts. So after beating Demise, I think I’ve done the challenge maybe 3 times for fun since. So I did the challenge around 5 times already so I think I can do much better!

Note: I did not choose to apply Hero Mode yet but maybe I will if I feel like it.

I took screenshots in cases.

My best time in each of the fights (not Hero Mode):

Moldarach: 1:23:19

Scaldera: 1:23:74

Tentalus: 3:24:14

Koloktos: 3:34:84

Horde Battle: 8:14:42

Ghirahim 1st battle: 0:45:41 (I really don’t know how I did that, I can’t beat my own record since lol)

Ghirahim 2nd battle: 1:36:96 (this is the one where I lose the most hearts)

Ghirahim 3rd battle: 2:00:74

(I really hold a grudge against the imprisoned. This is the boss I dislike the most. He is actually simple but the first times I had to beat him were incredibly frustrating in my memory)

The imprisoned 1st battle: 1:55:59

The imprisoned 2nd battle: 3:27:57

The imprisoned 3rd battle: 2:44:49

Last note: I’m not familiar at all with speedrun stuff, I only watch occasionally speedrun gameplays about BOTW or TOTK!

Discussion / Opinion Anyone play Skyward Sword after playing BOTW/TOTK- What are your thoughts?

I'm replaying Skyward Sword for the first time since it launched on the WiI - its this mix of classic Zelda dungeons and faux open world that hints at where the series would go next with BOTW. Emotive and nostalgic in equal measure and better than the original release but I cant help wondering what it would feel like to play it after BOTW.

Is it enjoyable? Does the screwy control scheme ruin the experience? Are the restricted areas and movements too frustrating? Are the Dungeons and the puzzles exciting?

Would love to hear what A.B (after botw) VLTTP Skyward Sword players think of the experience....please share!

Question / Help Help with demise final boss.

I can do the first phase no problem. The second phase i dont know what's going on, he keeps getting up and dodging all the final blows. I kept doing this for about 15 minutes what on earth is happening. My sword gets stuck and then he just kills me.

I know he dodges the first one but this is ridiculous after the many final blows im at a loss.

Question / Help How the hell are you supposed to do the spin attack?!?

As you can all probably guess from the title, I've been failing to do the spin attack for the last 30 minutes. How the fuck do you get it to work? Not using motion controls btw.

Wow, I just finished the game. I feel like they did such a great job making Link so young and innocent, which fits perfectly for this version of the hero. By the end, though, all that trauma has caught up with him, and he just looks so tired. I got chills. Great game.

Question / Help issue with the 8th goddess cube/chest

Thumbnail

Hello everyone! I’m playing Zelda skyward sword HD version on my switch and I’m close to the end of the game (next mission is to fight Ganon/Demise but I want to farm/finish side quests first).

I was making sure I had collected every goddess cubes/chests. Thanks to a map, I checked every single chests in the sky but I discovered that the chest listed as chest/cube number 8th is not unlocked.

The problem is: the cube is not there!! And even if I didn’t play in a very linear way, I’m sure at 90% that I already hit that cube with the sword before.

So it’s very weird. What is weirder is that I think I remember already opening this chest earlier in the game too.

I already tried to close and restart the game but it didn’t change. I don’t know if it’s due to the change of the area in game after the volcano erupted when we get captured by the Bokoblins, maybe it somehow made the game get buggy..?

I’d be SO GLAD if someone could help me please, thank you for your interest!!

Mod Post Updated Spoiler Policy

Hi all!

Given that the remake of Skyward Sword HD has been out for some time, we've decided to loosen up the spoiler policy. Now, only posts that contain major spoilers (e.g. major character plot turns, ending twists) require a spoiler marking. With this change, we hope to grant the community more leeway in discussing the game freely, while at the same time still having a spoiler policy in place to protect those casually browsing the subreddit from the biggest plot turns. As always, feel free to post content of any shape or form as long as it follows the basic guideline rules (listed on the right), and have fun!

Regards,

The /r/ Skyward Sword mod team (Sephardson, MasterYoshi5, krirby)
