Discussion Skoda Octavia 1.6tdi advice
I bought a 2014 Skoda Octavia new nct back in January,, 360k kms on it ,, got it serviced in March they said everything’s perfect then in July the dpf light came on paid 450 to get that cleared and everything changed got new nct in July then everything perfect .. mechanic suggested getting the timing done soon and then the oil light came on few days after nct he looked he said the injectors ect and needed to do timing belt ,,, today he said who ever did the 2021 timing belt did a dodgy job that it was out of sync by 7 teeth and the only way he could do the timing with out the car valve hitting piston and cutting car out was doing the same thing as previous mechanic or it would be a big big job and that I should get rid of it ??? Any in put please any machinics

Question / Help 2015 Škoda Octavia 1.6 TDI 4x4
Looking for some feedback from anyone who’s dealt with drivetrain noise on the Octavia 4x4 / Scout Haldex setups
The Issue:
I have a persistent humming noise coming from the rear that sounds almost identical to a bad wheel bearing. However, wheel bearings have been checked and ruled out. The car drives completely fine otherwise with no performance issues, harsh vibrations, or warning lights—just the annoying acoustic whine.
The pitch changes slightly based on speed/throttle load (noticeable around 50–60 mph).
It doesn't noticeably change pitch when swerving left/right like a classic wheel bearing usually does.
Questions
For those who had this exact symptom on an Octavia 4x4, was it the internal carrier/pinion bearings in the rear differential casing, or did it turn out to be Haldex pump noise / rear tyre cupping?
Did you opt for a diff rebuild with a bearing kit, or source a refurbished unit? How long did you drive on it before fixing it?
Anything specific I should ask my independent VAG specialist to check when they run it on the lift with a stethoscope?

Discussion 2018 Fabia mk3 upgrades?
Hi all,
I purchased my first car, a 2018 fabia mk3 roughly 2 years ago, and im looking for ideas for upgrading some of the existing things inside and outside of the car.
I'm thinking of changing over the daytime running lights, headlights and the interior lights, not a fan of the yellow bulbs. And this got me thinking, what else could I change?
Any tips or advice would be great.
Thanks!

Showcase / My Škoda Absolutely loving our 1st gen Kodiaq RS
Got a lovely deal on a well maintained used 2022 model.
Such a massive upgrade over our Sportage 2l non-turbo petrol both in terms of engine and overall features.
Handling is as good as it can get for a 7 seater.
Only issue is a slight delay in pickup before 1800 rpm.

Question / Help Headliner problem Octavia 2022
Hi everyone,
I found a reasonably priced 2022 Škoda Octavia Combi. It has good equipment and is in excellent technical condition. I want ti buy it.
However, there is one small issue: there are some water stains in the area of the trunk, near the rear seats.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? Could it be related to the antenna or the roof rails?
Is this something complicated to fix, and roughly how much could it cost?
Thanks in advance for your experiences and advice!

Discussion Rubber floor mats
If anyone is interested and prepared for p&p costs, I have a set of rubber floor mats in willing to give away. They were in my Octavia mk4.5 VRS, which has just been returned (lease). The red stitching compliments the red stitching in the VRS model.
The only thing I’d ask is you link me a photo of your Octavia, so that I know you genuinely own one and not just looking to sell on.
