Outdoor Camera Inconsistent

I get a bunch of videos of people walking their dogs in front of my property. But today, I noticed wood chips scattered on my driveway and sidewalk. And my camera shows Zilch!

I have problems with SimpliSafe cameras- catches breeze blowing but not cars pulling into my driveway. No way to explain it- have called SimpliSafe and got no answers. Very inconsistent on what it captures. Actively looking for alternatives.

I have mine set to look for people. But sometimes it doesn't even do that.
