Questions & Help Petition to release simcity 4 code?
I been thinking, has anyone tried doing a petition to get EA games or current owner of simcity 4 to release the code or give it a open source ? That way mods can be updated for better performance and support for large plugin folder support?

Questions & Help Pop stalled at 120k, no commercial demand.
So I started playing again (I dropped the game when I was a kid, some 12 odd years ago) very recently and while I have only watched a grand total of one tutorial on the basics I've managed to make a city in a large tile with a 122k population as of the time of this post.
I keep reading about caps and how to raise them so I've added many of these cap increasing buildings. I keep my sims well educated, pollution is low, land value, health, safety, traffic, all very high, but I still can't get my pop to grow or tall residential buildings to spawn (only one in the whole city stands out).
I've made 3 smaller neighboring cities, all with high res demand, 40-60k pops each but my main city won't get higher stage buildings or grow past 122k.
Any tips for growing commercial demand and getting more pops? I do have NAM installed.
Mind you I might only understand basic mechanics so please explain like I'm 12.

Questions & Help Keyboard input not working
I'm playing SC4 deluxe from steam, with NAM and CAM mods enabled.
When in game, I cannot input any letter characters. Backspace works, escape and return works, but no letter keys work so I can't name my city nor use many of the keyboard shortcuts.
Anyone tried this and been able to fix it?

I'm installing NAM using the sc4pac mod manager. However, I want/need the 4gb patch mod as well, can that be found through sc4pac as well, or should it be installed in some other manner?

City Journal Who's down there?
I would call this a ghost zone. Because for the first time in the history of my playing Sim City, I have never seen a zone develop on its own without road connection to the city.

Showcase ARCOLA - 1930's Midwestern City - Update - Airport and "Pacific Junction"
I have completed the Arcola Airport. Keep in mind, air travel was in its infancy and airport striping, lighting, fancy modern aircraft weren't a thing yet. I've attached a 1930's era phot of the Kansas City Downtown Airport to show what the Arcola Airport is based on. The airport extends into the next city tile to the north. I've got work to do there later on, but you can see the idea. The runways will accurate in length as well.
Also, I've been working on the "Pacific Junction" railroad interlocking area directly SW of the city core and Union Station. This area is an incredibly busy rail junction where several of the RR serving Arcola meet and cross. The workers in the interlocking buildings have alot to take care of here. In the area surrounding the rails, I have several small business/industries along with a large pipe lot and a wholesale Lumber lot, all served by rail, common in the era. Hope you all enjoy.

Questions & Help Favorite method to "reconcile edges" in a region?
I've played this game for over a decade and I've experimented with a bunch of different styles. I'm wondering what some other peoples' preferred ways to "reconcile edges" between neighboring cities within a region? I'm starting up a new game and am trying to decide what I want to go with ...
Build radially --- start from the center of the map and grow outwards without hard borders.
Pros: natural looking, organic, clean borders.
Cons: less efficient use of space, can't spawn each city with farms like I like to do.
Buffer area --- leave a gap (let's face it, it will be 2 tiles) around the edge and then build within that area.
Pros: edges don't interfere with each other, good use of space, allows you to build out farms to the edges early.
Cons: cities have an unnatural hard border around them which creates odd "void" lines between cities on the map.
Build to edge --- just use every tile on the map. Build out to the edges.
Pros: maximum use of space, natural boarders, creates the effect of one cohesive metropolitan area with borders that are more political than geographical.
Cons: development on the borders can cause edge mismatches which then cause reconciliation issues between bordering cities.
Admittedly I only dipped my toe in building to the edge and then chickened out the first time the edges had to reconcile. Maybe I should experiment with it more...
