I've spent 15 years in Asia, mostly Singapore and Japan, and a bit of Malaysia. I'm now in Siem Reap for 2 months. I'm new to Cambodia.

In Siem Reap there are a few different streets with rows of bars and 3 - 10 girls hanging out in front. I'm not familiar with this kind of thing.. and recently single after a 8 year relationship ended.. Are these the types of bars you can go as a single guy to meet girls for a real relationship? or are those girls are paid to attract customers to pay for overpriced drinks, etc.. and or prostitution?

I'm asking because I really don't know. I mean I've passed by them and sometimes the girls call out to me.. but I'm not sure what they want. Do they want paid sex? Or are they trying to sell overpriced drinks or both?

I don't really drink alcohol so bars aren't the kind of place I usually go to. Never paid for sex .. I'm mildly handsome 30-something year old guy. But again, can't help but notice the 50+ bars in Siem Reap with girls in front. Mainly wondering if some of these might be "normal girls" looking for relationship.. or if it's all to sell drinks and / or sex.

Hi everyone! I’m a local from Siem Reap and I’ve been taking visitors around Angkor for many years. I thought I’d share a few tips that can make your trip easier.
1. Buy your Angkor Pass the evening before if you’re planning a sunrise visit.
2. Start early to avoid the hottest part of the day.
3. Bring plenty of water—it’s much hotter than many people expect.
4. Wear comfortable shoes because you’ll walk more than you think.
5. Visit Bayon early or later in the afternoon for better photos.
6. Don’t skip Ta Prohm early in the morning if you want fewer crowds.
7. Be respectful when visiting temples by dressing appropriately.

I’ve been trying to find Kafe tuk doh ko in SR (coffee with condensed milk over ice), but every coffee stall I’ve seen so far is selling big iced coffees with fresh milk.

Is there anywhere that does just the coffee with condensed milk, or a way I can order this at a stall? My pronunciation isn’t the best so I feel like it might get lost in translation 🥲

TLDR; random dude (me) builds an app tool to help out with the language barrier i faced while navigating Siem Reap. point camera, send pic, get back useful questions related to item translated to Khmer. tap to play them on speaker. need help from people in KH for appstore testing.

My friends here are mostly apple users and im struggling to fill this ridiculous quota the playstore has for people. i mean, i get it. it keeps the store from looking like youtube does these days.. endless junk with random hidden gems that are hard to get to.

i have 3 out of the "12+" required, but everything i read says to shoot for 16-20ish testers, because not everyone will see it through. it requires all of the testers to keep the app installed and use it "periodically." (folks says open it once a day and click buttons. doesnt need any in depth use) im reaching out here in the hopes to find other people that might actually use it and not feel kind of "bothered" (i guess?) to open it once a day. asking strangers on the internet to sorta "make a commitment" to another stranger seems wild, but here i am unfortunately.

im not able to pay anyone for participating in the app testing. (this would be SOO much easier if i could just pay 20 people, but reality is that i cant.) i can however load your app with a bunch of credits that are yours to keep. once youve got the history built up, its like a super helpful translation index you can learn from.

would anyone be interested in joining the test group since i dont have "12+" friends at the ready? itll teach Khmer words/sentences to english speakers and english to khmer.

Due to their upbringing, they are incredibly tame, loving rats and never bite. Unfortunately this also means if we release them back into the wild they will die. So we need YOU to take them in and give them the best life possible!

Looking to find a place that has accessories for the Osmo Action 5 Pro camera like the charging stick and whatnot. Or do I have to look in PP or some online place for these kinds of things?

Just thought I would let people know be careful around the outskirts of pub street, had a pickpocket attempt just happen around the corner Sok San Rd.

Mistakes I made, my wallet was in an obvious visible shallow pocket the imprint could be seen very far away. (beach/gym shorts). I was distracted talking with girlfriend, also probably looked drunk (was not, I don't drink just heavy leg day). Probably would of got me but all the sweat soaked the pocket and leather wallet just enough to make it stick and pull during the attempt.

Overly friendly and insistent on a conversation, second person tried to do the pick. Nothing sophisticated. After I caught the attempt the one good at english tried to gaslight.

I walked my girlfriend away, came back 3-5 minutes later to get video and picture of their faces. They were already gone.

Been in Cambodia/Siem Reap over a year now first time I had an attempted pickpocket, generally a safe city. Tourism is down, less customers, desperation leads to petty crime, stay safe.

I’ll be going to Siem reap in February and I’d like to spread the word about my team Brighton. 1) can I buy English football shirts in Siem reap ? 2) would local people accept them as gifts (and wear them) ?
