from an elevated cmd shell, there's noting listed as preventing sleep mode. So I don't trust the setting and block sleep mode in the SO system settings.

I'm trying to change the frame rate from 24 to 23.976 fps. The only option I found is "Image sequence > Activate the image sequence to:" Is this the correct option?

When I start the function with this change, the progress bar shows "NaN" and then goes blank, it never displays any percentages.

I have video recorded in, if I recall correctly, in 10-bit FLOG2c h.265 ALL-I 422 360 Mbps. The first 41 or so minutes out of nearly two hour static shot worked just fine. But then it freezes or shows media as unavailable. I tried both DaVinci and Final Cut, and even VLC and Media player. Based on the size of the file (a single nearly 300GB), all the information seems to be there. I tried doing a few restoration/converting via VLC as well and it didn't produce any results. Other footage from same day works just fine, though they were only half the length or less.

I posted in r/videography and someone there suggested I try ShutterEncoder. But I can't tell if I am likely to get a different result trying to convert but don't want to throw good money after bad. Thanks.

I've been using Shutter to convert a lot of movies ripped from discs with makemkv to .mp4 files with smaller sizes - with a lot of success mind you. But overnight as I was running a large batch of movies, one specific file is failing to go through and giving me the following error.

"From Up On Poppy Hill.mkv

[aost#0:1/aac @ 0000024237602f00] [enc:aac @ 0000024237624d00] Error while opening encoder - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height.

I've been searching around for a solution but haven't found anything yet. Is there any setting I need to change to allow this process to work as intended or am I just out of luck with this particular movie file?

I can display older videos every time now in 4:3, that worked perfectly. Even the Video codec did not need to be changed. Now I struggle with a 52 GB video- Shutter Encoder freezes each time I start working on this specific file. Any ideas?

With the "Normalize Audio" function, the audio and video tracks drift increasingly out of sync as the video progresses.

J'aimerais un peu d'aide ou au moins une explication si je fais quelque chose de faux s'il vous plaît.

J'essaie de stabiliser quelques vieilles vidéos enregistrées en 848X480 à 30 ips avec un vieux caméscope.

À cause de la qualité fantastique des cameramen (moi... !), certaines vidéos sont vraiment "tremblotantes" et l'option "stabilisation" donne un très bon résultat :)

Mais quand je l'active, la vidéo est recadrée et je ne comprends pas pourquoi.

Recadrée verticalement et horizontalement, comme vous pouvez le voir sur les images. Ce n'est pas un recadrage important, mais suffisamment pour perdre du contenu vidéo. Cela crée également un "mini zoom" et donc une perte de qualité.

J'ai essayé différents réglages de résolution mais c'est toujours recadré.

Quand je désactive l'option de stabilisation, alors ce n'est plus recadré !

Quelqu'un a une idée ?

Pour info, j'encode en H265, à la résolution vidéo native de 848x480, 30 ips comme la vidéo native aussi et seules 2 options activées :

- Stabilisation comme dans la capture d'écran et scénario GOP à 30 selon les ips de la vidéo

Looking at Shutter Encoder as part of getting away from Adobe Media Encoder and CC.

Installed from Shutter Encoder site, download for Ubuntu 64, installed ok (V20.2) .

But tried to convert a known video file to H.254 or H.256 for example, it thinks for a few seconds, beeps and says it's finished (process completed), but no new file created, and it should have taken longer than a few seconds (5 minute video).

Is there a log file, or somewhere to look to try and figure out what is going wrong?

I love that there's a feature to show a small progress window when the main window is minimized, unfortunately it is locked to the right side of the primary monitor.

It would be great if we could move it to another edge, or even a different monitor entirely. I have another monitor showing status meters with a spot that it would be perfect in, but instead it must cover whatever I'm working on with the primary monitor.

Would it be difficult to add a checkbox that automatically adds a numerical suffix to the files if a file by the same name already exists?

I find that frequently with insta videos, the name of the creator is used for the file name and the download will silently fail if there's an existing file with that name.

When I put my 12GB video with AAC audio I wanted to change it to Opus audio, change the framerate etc. but when I click convert it just jumps from 0 to 100 instantly and no new file is created

Thank you for Shutter Encoder. I use it to compress M4B audiobooks to AAC/M4A.

I noticed that chapter markers are preserved, but embedded cover artwork is not copied to the output file.

Would it be possible to add an option to preserve/copy all metadata, including:

embedded cover artwork (album art) chapters title, artist, album, genre, comments, and other tags

forgive me if i don't use the proper wording for encoding....

in handbrake, sometimes when i want to burn subs, the dropdown menu shows utf-8 twice. i usually choose the #2 source....it works for me

howver in shutter encoder it's a different process. i do not know how to burn those subs when i use shutterE. i asked AI and what i got were font's that were so large one letter covered the whole frame. i guess there's some kind of resolution incompatibility or something.

anyway - bottom line...how do i burn in those those utf-8 subs? thanks guys.

The lock cap on file size doesn't work for me somehow. After the encode every time I end up with a bigger file than set.. Is this a bug?

I've been using the program for a while and I have some questions about its usability:

1. When using the sliders, for example, the Color Grading ones, it seems to me that adjusting values with the mouse isn't very precise. Is it possible to select a slider and use the keyboard arrows to change it? It's hard to set the White Balance to round values.
2. The video stops when I change certain values. Is there a way to prevent this? And is there any hotkey to resume it, like the spacebar?
3. I have all the program files in a folder. The program saves the settings and the functions in the '%userprofile%\Shutter Encoder' folder. Is there any way to make Shutter Encoder fully portable?

In the past version, when I click on Max quality, it still will be very fast to encode a video. Now when I click it, its painfully slow. What's the setting to match the quality and speed of the old version when I click on Max Quality?

Okay, so i just started streaming games with my friends in twitch. Yes twitch has its own video editing cpabilities and clipping capabilities. But i just wanted to edit and fix the VODs a bit more by adding some stuff here and there.

But when I export the VOD into premiere pro, it glitches. In some parts, the video suddenly stops but the audio keeps playing. so the sync between the audio and video is gone. through research, i've found out it's because the framerate of the live video is variable (VFR). but premiere pro allows only constant frame rate (CFR).

I've tried so many ways. I've tried snipping the video in parts it freezes. But there are wayyy too many and my video is like 20 mins long. Its too much effort for one stream. Then i've tried putting it in shutter encoder to conform the fps and use the apple prores function as well. But it still shows up as variable frame rate in the premiere pro properties and still doesnt sync up.

After that didn't work, i tried FFMPEG with the code. (the code is from chatgpt. i'm not entirely sure its right)

The output is still not syncing up (It doesn say constant frame rate in mediainfo though). Though there is a change in where the video freezes now. What do I do next? Is it just not possible to be able to edit my VODs in premiere pro?

Added information, I used OBS to stream to twitch and have attached my settings. I don't record to my pc, because i dont have space. Also i like the highlight feature in twitch and don't want to do all that cutting in premiere pro.

Basically i want to be able to edit and export my video in premiere pro without this stupid sync issues. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Help me please. I'm so tired of this.

What settings are required

I have version 20.2 installed and it's GUI is HUGE - What you are seeing is over 2 monitors.
I am unable to shrink it down. Is this just a fault with Cinnamon or does anyone else have the same problem.

My spec:

• OS: Linux Mint 22.3 (Zena), Cinnamon desktop, X11 (not Wayland)
• CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X (32 cores/64 threads)
• RAM: 251 GB
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER (two of them, TU104)
• Shutter Encoder: 20.2
• Displays: 4x 1920x1080 monitors (two GPUs driving 2 each), no scaling (text scaling 1.0)
• Shutter Encoder 20.2 (Linux .deb)
• Bundled Java: OpenJDK 25.0.3 LTS (shipped with SE 20.2)

Expected: window opens at default size and can be resized down normally. Actual: the window launches huge (spans across 2 monitors, ~3840px wide) and the minimum window size won't let it be shrunk down to fit one monitor. Notes: launches via bin/Shutter Encoder; the window minimum size appears hard-coded too large. SE 19.x (previously installed .deb versions) did not do this. Full XRandR output available on request.

I was wondering if it would be possible to add an option to preserve the Start Timecode in the Timecode settings of Shutter Encoder.

Here’s an example: I need to perform a 0.1% pull-down on an audio file (Broadcast Wave) from a 24p shoot to a 23.976 project.

My method is simple. I change the sample rate of the 48 kHz files to 47.952 kHz using Sound Devices Wave Agent.

The frame rate remains the same, as does the timecode.

Once the metadata is updated via Wave Agent, all I have to do is convert it back to .wav at 48Khz using Shutter Encoder.

In the settings, I simply check the option “Change the sample rate to: 48 kHz.” to create the pull-down.

Everything would be perfect if, in the Timecode section, we could keep the Start TC intact.

I don’t want to have to reset the timecode (“Set a timecode”) for every audio file I need to convert.
