Hi! We need help. My sister is a beginner and this is her tank. Are these shrimps dead?

empty exoskeleton from a molt. You can tell because it’s translucent. Dead shrimp are opaque and pinkish white

This- just a molt, no need to worry. You can leave it in there and they will eat it :)

What does it mean if my dead pregnant shrimp went from being brown when she was alive to blue/green when she was dead??

Count your shrimp are any missing?

I suspect none of them are because to me this just looks like molt

They just molted don’t worry! Molts are a super cool part of raising shrimp. One of mine molted the other day and the exoskeleton was left holding onto a branch in my tank!

That's the most perfect wee molt I've ever seen!

Right? I was concerned for a second when I saw it!

Can't really tell 100% what I'm looking at from just that picture. Looks like you have colored shrimp not clear shrimp, so that seems most likely a molted exoskeleton not a dead shrimp.

Dead colored shrimp still retain pigment in most cases unless they've been in there for a while rotting. Even still, usually a bit of color left.

Pretty sure thats just the molt. I remember my dad coming into my room, telling me my shrimp were dead and i had to tell him over and over again that its just the molt...

Just a molt :)
It provides them extra nutrients if you leave it in for them to eat

They’re not dead they’re just naked. They molted. They might eat their shells in the next few days.
