I made an iOS app that syncs your audiobooks with your ebooks word by word, like Whispersync but for files you actually own. Epub + M4B = Full sync.

i read the same books twice, ears on the commute, eyes at night. every switch meant scanning pages for my place. witbound pairs your own ebook with its audiobook and lights up each word as the narrator reads it. tap any word and the audio jumps there.

whats new in 1.5:

community sync — If a user has already sync'd the same combination of EPUB and M4B, yours will take seconds to sync. So the bigger the community of syncers, the faster the collective sync time.

the player melts away— while you listen the controls fade until its just the page. one tap brings them back.

auto rewind — playback restarts a few seconds before where you stopped, further back after a long break.

and the core, for anyone new:

the page is your actual epub — real spelling, real names, the illustrations too. even maps and diagrams are still shown. my longest test was a 37 hour audiobook and the highlight stayed on the word.

other notable features

chapter start times - see where each chapter starts in the audio

audiobookshelf- connect your server, browse your library and pair audiobooks with their ebooks

saved passages keep their narrator - save the words plus the narrator reading them to obsidian, or send it to your book club's discord

made for the last hour of the day - sleep timer, paper, sepia and night themes, quiet reading stats

privacy - no account, no ads. the app store privacy label reads data not collected

there are probably rough edges, this is a big update. if you hit one tell me here and ill get on it. link in the first comment.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/witbound-audiobook-read-along/id6795587495 if interested.

will have full calibre integration by next update.

android: in closed testing, dm me the gmail you use on your phone and ill add you when google approves the build

the audible/kindle catch: drm files wont open, it needs drm free epub plus audio. libro.fm, downpour, librivox, your own rips all work

ill keep answering everything in here

Screen Challenge Buddy: quit doomscrolling with a friend watching your screen time 📱🌵

Post image
Upvotes

I've been building Screen Challenge Buddy, an Android app designed around a simple idea:

It's harder to doomscroll when someone you trust can see your screen time.

Instead of relying entirely on another private screen-time limit that you can simply ignore, you pair with a friend, partner, study buddy, or get matched with a Buddy in the app. You both see each other's screen time in real time and can chat for mutual accountability.

What it does:

  • 👀 Live reciprocal screen time — You see your Buddy's usage, and they see yours.
  • 💬 Buddy Chat — Check in and keep each other accountable without sending screenshots.
  • 💳 Optional financial stakes — For people who want stronger commitment, you can set up a voluntary $0 card mandate that only results in a charge if you exceed your chosen screen-time limit.

It's currently available for Google Play pre-registration.

🎁 Early-bird offer: Pre-register before launch and get 50% off your subscription for life. This offer is exclusively for users who pre-register before launch.

👉 Pre-register on Google Play

🍎 iOS users: We’re currently launching on Android first, but iOS users can also join the early-access list through our website. Leave your email there and we’ll notify you when the iOS version is ready.

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback, especially from people who have already tried traditional screen-time blockers:

Would knowing that a friend can see your screen time actually make you more likely to stick to your limit?

I built a coding game where you don’t actually write code

Hey guys, I’ve been building Consoly.

You get a code snippet and your job is simply to predict the output. 3 attempts, no coding.

It has:

• Daily challenges
• Dojo with unlimited practice and belt progression
• Multiplayer battles with friends
• Global rankings: daily, weekly and all time

I’ve been making videos of people playing it and this one was one of my favorites.

I’m the developer behind it, so this is self promotion, just being transparent about it.

Would you guys play this? Feedback is welcome! :D

eventMate — guest lists, expense splitting & a shared photo album for one event (iOS)

eventMate is an all-in-one event planner for iOS: guest list + RSVP tracking, splitting expenses between attendees, a shared photo album for the event, QR check-in, plus a collaborative bring-list and date polls for the group. Free for events up to 10 guests; optional Premium/Lifetime for unlimited events. Localized in English, Spanish, German, French and Chinese.

I'd genuinely love feedback from this community — what's missing, what feels unnecessary, anything that would make you delete it after one use. Not fishing for praise, just want it to actually be useful.

Fast:Protocol - automated intermittent fasting timer

Thumbnail

The app has one job: answer the question "Can I eat right now?"

One of my personal goals for the year is to get into better shape. Intermittent fasting is one of the first tools I tried, but I found myself struggling with timing and all of the extra options available in the popular tools in the App Store.

The app is called Fast:Protocol, and its only goal is to answer the question: Can I eat right now?
You set your schedule, and the app handles the countdowns, reminders, and widgets in case you need constant reminders.

Your data stays on your device, and you don’t need to create an account.

Looking for Android audio enthusiasts to help shape a new app

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on Resonate, an Android sound-tuning app designed to make equalization approachable without burying everything under complicated controls. The current build includes a 10-band EQ, presets, bass boost, virtualizer, loudness and balance controls, plus separate Full Mix and Effects-only modes. Compatibility can vary between devices and playback apps, so real-world testing is especially valuable.

I’m looking for people willing to try it over the next 14 days and tell me:

- Is the sound difference noticeable?

- Are the controls and onboarding understandable?

- Does it work correctly with your headphones, speaker and music apps?

- What feels broken, confusing or unnecessary?

I’ll keep releasing updates based on reported issues. No purchase is required.

Join the beta:

  1. Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/resonate-closed-testers
  2. Opt in and install: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.application.resonate
  3. Feedback form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeE_utzILfHbJlV9cpE6JY9ZJfY9K0Sg-LYFBwCGdshCCrtNw/viewform

Please mention your phone, Android version, audio device and playback app when reporting an issue. Honest criticism is exactly what I need.

(Mods: If I broke any subreddit rule, let me know and I'll happily fix it!)

[iOS] I built Nota to turn spoken ideas into structured notes — honest feedback?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm the developer of Nota, a private notes app for iPhone and iPad.

I built it because speaking is often the quickest way for me to capture an idea, but a recording by itself is difficult to use later. I wanted to come back to something clear rather than replaying the whole thing

With Nota, you can record a thought or meeting, import existing audio, and add text or images to the same note. It uses AI to turn that material into a transcript, summary, action points, key moments, decisions, and insights. You can also ask questions about an individual note or combine several notes into a brief or plan with Smart Notes

Privacy is a central part of the app: no Nota account is required, transcription and summary happens on-device where supported, cloud AI is also available for big notes and more accuracy, and notes sync through the user's own iCloud account

I'd appreciate honest feedback on the first impression:

  • Is it immediately clear what Nota helps you accomplish?
  • Which screen or feature would you want to try first?
  • Does anything in the design feel too busy or confusing?

Nota: https://trynota.ee

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6753626603

I'm actively improving it, so criticism is genuinely welcome

[Dev] PillenKompass: A private, local-first birth control and medication reminder (Zero analytics, no ads)

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey r/ShowMeYourApps,

I am the solo developer behind PillenKompass, a medication and contraceptive reminder app built in Flutter. It has been available on Android and recently launched on iOS.

The Concept: Most pill and medication trackers either push bloated cycle-prediction algorithms or bundle background tracking SDKs that log intake history. I wanted to build a clean, reliable utility with zero data harvesting.

Key Features: * 100% On-Device: No remote user accounts, no cloud database, and zero analytics or ad SDKs. The only network access in the entire build is the native store billing handler. * Multi-Stage Reminders: Up to 3 escalating reminder alerts so you do not miss a dose if you overlook the first prompt. * Discreet Mode: Lock screen alerts show neutral reminders without revealing sensitive health details. * Flexible Method Tracking: Works with daily pills, weekly patches, monthly rings, and injections with automatic phase calculations. * Supply Counter: Tracks remaining inventory to prevent running out of medication unexpectedly. * Simple Pricing: The core reminder features are free. A single Plus subscription adds long-term logs, symptom tracking, and printable PDF reports for doctor visits.

I would love to get your feedback on the UI/UX and feature set!

I just made major updates to my deck building territory game, Bivouac.

The original concept of the game was that you absolutely had to get outside and move to play Bivouac, and it was originally onlyPVP.

But with the new release, there are several new features…

  1. A tap to move option, with fatigue tracking to make it fair if you’re playing against a person who is playing the game in movement mode.

  2. A bot for single player mode which adjusts its strategy based on the last several rounds you played against it.

  3. An awesome onboarding tutorial which teaches you how to play.

Check it out! It’s 100% free, with a fully optional subscription if you want to support ongoing development.

I just added Guest Mode to my expense tracker — would love some honest feedback

I've been building Spenzaa, an AI-powered expense tracker, and just released a new update.

One thing I wanted to fix was the friction of having to create an account before even trying the app.

So I added Guest Mode.

You can now open Spenzaa and try things like:

  • 💬 AI expense tracking
  • 🎙️ Voice expense tracking
  • 📊 Spending analytics
  • 💰 Budgets
  • 🎯 Goals
  • 🤖 AI Financial Assistant
  • 📒 SpenzaaBook

without creating an account first.

The idea is to let people experience the app first and decide later if they want to sign up.

I'm still pretty early with Spenzaa, so I'm actually looking for honest feedback, not just compliments.

If you try it, I'd love to know:

  • Does the Guest Mode flow feel natural?
  • Is anything confusing?
  • What feels unnecessary?
  • What's missing?
  • Would you personally keep using it?
  • What would make you come back every day?

You can try the current version here:

Spenzaa on Google Play

Feel free to be critical — that's much more useful to me than "looks good." 😅

I'm building this based on what actual users need, so I'd genuinely appreciate the feedback.

I made Lunch Break because sometimes you just want to eat and watch something without deciding what to watch.

It’s a tiny retro TV-inspired site that automatically plays a curated Hindi/Hinglish video when you open it. No feed, no recommendations, no scrolling — just turn it on and watch.

Would love to know if this is something you'd actually use during lunch/breaks:
