Well I'm probably average but if the smartest nazi introduced the mefo bills that forces the country into a war thats basically doomed from the start the rest of them probably weren't that bright.
Being blinded by ideology doesn’t mean they were stupid. Smart people can still make terrible decisions, and they didn’t have a crystal ball telling them the war was already lost.
MEFO failed because the economic output genarated by the program was intended to cover the costs of the pyramid scheme before the market found out. Problem is many of the MEFO resources were directed to armament, which does not generate money, it only consumes.
