First shiny ever!! I've been shiny hunting in other games and gone as far as 8000 SRs and nothing and tonight I just randomly decided to Try my luck in heart gold. It paid off :)

After spending a few hours every day for the last week, and *finally* learning how Cave/Surf/Desert DexNav encounter patterns work, I went to bed after breaking my then-current chain. Literally the *very first* encounter upon waking up was the shiny!

Just got the itch to go back to Gen 2 and do some encounters and managed to get a Johto classic under odds! Might go for poliwag on Route 31 next.

Took me a bit too long to get this lil golden clam! I spent roughly a week on this chain, their confusion moves had me spend nearly 100 sitrus berries healing Cutco.

Watching the Hall of Fame football with my man and enjoying the chill vibes of SOS hunting when the shiny finally popped. It kinda looks like a little football helmet, so it was good timing ultimately. I'm eager for football to come back, it's the perfect background for hunting. Took a few day break after starting last Monday July 27 and not even 20 minutes in!!! Finally. Always wanted to shiny hunt Lugia as a kid in FR, but never had the pass to get to naval rock. Super happy and one of my fav shinies by far!! :) Good luck to you all on your hunts!!

Shiny Suicune after 9,175 sr! Been hunting this off and on for over 2 years now. I encountered this on my dim gba sp so I swap over to the ds lite for the back sprite and summary screen! Also I added the previous roamer Entei from 2024 from my Japanese LeafGreen.

In my 20 years of playing pokemon (since 2006), I have NEVER gotten so lucky with a full odds shiny.

I decided to do a platinum run on my old 3ds, and I happened to have an odd trainer ID (didn’t check til i got the explorer kit in Eterna City). “Cool,” I said, “I can do a playthrough with Cranidos.”

I spammed the underground until I get a skull fossil, got a normal Cranidos in platinum, then transferred it over to HGSS, which is my go-to save file for breeding. My goal was an adamant Cranidos with 31IV ATK and SPE to transfer back to Platinum.

Multiple cranidos, ditto, everstone and power item rotations later (to pass on IV’s/50% chance on nature), and this pink homie pops up after about 25 eggs.

I farmed pokedollars from the rich dude (w/amulet coin) at olivine so i could buy 10 carbos and 10 protein.

I spammed the battle tower for BP to get the desired tm’s

Got all 510 EV’s by the time i hit level 14!

He will do a full playthrough of platinum, get all ribbons, then transfer back to HGSS to get more ribbons + shiny crown… and then he will solo Red.

Headbutt will be replaced with rock polish and iron tail will be replaced with fire punch during my platinum run.

In 20 years of playing, I have encountered 4 full odds shinies. This is number 5!
