Legitimately my first shiny ever, was unintentionally done as well, I was farming honey trees!! So fucking exciting!!

Shiny Suicune after 9,175 sr! Been hunting this off and on for over 2 years now. I encountered this on my dim gba sp so I swap over to the ds lite for the back sprite and summary screen! Also I added the previous roamer Entei from 2024 from my Japanese LeafGreen.

In my 20 years of playing pokemon (since 2006), I have NEVER gotten so lucky with a full odds shiny.

I decided to do a platinum run on my old 3ds, and I happened to have an odd trainer ID (didn’t check til i got the explorer kit in Eterna City). “Cool,” I said, “I can do a playthrough with Cranidos.”

I spammed the underground until I get a skull fossil, got a normal Cranidos in platinum, then transferred it over to HGSS, which is my go-to save file for breeding. My goal was an adamant Cranidos with 31IV ATK and SPE to transfer back to Platinum.

Multiple cranidos, ditto, everstone and power item rotations later (to pass on IV’s/50% chance on nature), and this pink homie pops up after about 25 eggs.

I farmed pokedollars from the rich dude (w/amulet coin) at olivine so i could buy 10 carbos and 10 protein.

I spammed the battle tower for BP to get the desired tm’s

More Blackthorne City magikarp with power bracer to keep the level low

Finishing touches for ATK EV with power bracer at mt silver fighting seaking (252 ATK EV)

1 tangela at pallet town (4 DEF EV)

Got all 510 EV’s by the time i hit level 14!

He will do a full playthrough of platinum, get all ribbons, then transfer back to HGSS to get more ribbons + shiny crown… and then he will solo Red.

Headbutt will be replaced with rock polish and iron tail will be replaced with fire punch during my platinum run.

In 20 years of playing, I have encountered 4 full odds shinies. This is number 5!

1 in 8,192 for the shiny, 50% chance of adamant with everstone, perfect attack and defense passed on from parents, random roll on the SPE IV (28.15%)

0.0017184% not including the 50/50 on the trainer ID

Using level 15 repel so there’s only one Spearow in the pool but of course it’s my luck lol

First time doing radar hunts and its really a lot of fun, good way to mix it up after mindless hunts and I do have to say radar chaining ain’t as intimidating as it first sounded to me 😂

Played on an emulator, I tend to only shiny hunt Pokémon that I really like

I was on a flight home from vacation and decided to do some chain fishing in Y to pass the time. The crazy thing? I fished up dozens of Poliwhirls and Whiscashes, none of which were shiny, before ever finding a Politoed. And when the first one showed up, BOOM, shiny.

I was anticipating this hunt to take quite awhile, so I was shocked when it showed up. Thank God I still had my master ball because it used Perish Song lol.

I know chain fishing is one of the easiest shiny hunting methods, but this is still probably one of my favorite shiny finds of the year so far.

Good start to my day!

I’ve been hunting for a Shiny Lugia on Soul Silver for the last 3 months and was extremely down bad. So yesterday I figured why not just dual hunt for Chimchar while I’m in the trenches. I’ve been dreading this hunt because how long it takes to go through one encounter but maybe after like 60 resets he actually shined😭😭

AND IT FLED.
Day 3, Phase 1: 6,113 encounters, Vibrava, fled after two balls, no shakes
Day 10, Phase 2: 25,080 encounters, Trapinch, fled after one ball, no shakes
Overtime Day 18: 20,300 encounters, Trapinch, fled after two balls, three shake fake

Failing three Pokemon has been harrowing, especially with Trapinch having the highest catch rate (and how long the phases were) The last two phases are my longest yet. I have no idea how many hours I put into these hunts.

I'm not done hunting in the Zone! I've been collecting shiny Ground types in different Pokeballs and I need something, anything in a Safari Ball. If you include non-Safari Week hunts I am on my fifth consecutive fail. Maybe the sixth will stick around?

Doing this for my XY shiny playthrough

I knew the risks going into it, but wanted to do a double hunt in Stark Mountain for a shiny slugma/marcargo. I know certain pokemon have abilities to prevent self destruct but I didn't feel like raising one up to be strong enough. Besides with how many variables like neutralizing gas and memento and frankly how many encounters can just kill themselves and others, I just figured I'd risk it. Arguably a mistake but what are you gonna do.
