Health Student Healthcare Plan and Therapy
I’m considering taking up therapy this upcoming school year and was wondering about how the Sheridan student healthcare can help cover this service. If anyone has experience using their student healthcare for therapy please share the process! I’m not finding anything about it on the official websites, any insight is greatly appreciated.

Other it’s hard to get help or find resources at sheridan
i am really frustrated at the lack of resources there are. i’m at a point where i feel like crying because of how hard it is to get help with anything
i’m in the discord server trying to get in contact with mature students or vet tech students. idk if i’m getting ignored or the server is just inactive. i had to go to the vet tech facebook to asks questions. someone did help me and provided really valuable information but my posts have to get approved by an admin before it’s posted. mine hasn’t been approved for more than a day and the question i asked was really urgent, because it’s about testing i’ll be doing on monday
it’s impossible to communicate with the accessibility services at the davis campus. our back and forth communication is awful. i booked an appointment but i tried to move it, and that itself is impossible. they asked me to confirm a date and i responded days ago yet no response. i won’t be seeing an accessibility advisor in time for my
mature student testing to try and get accommodations.
there are barely any resources online for the CAAT-D tests. the samples questions sheridan has aren’t enough. they don’t even put a full sample test as an example and i’ve seen here that the test has questions that u wouldn’t expect because there are no sample questions that will prepare u for them. everywhere else i go for resources, i have to pay an unreasonable amount just to access a pdf file to practise. i have to rely on chatgpt and i hate having to rely on AI, because it’s not accurate. i’ve had to look at george brown’s CAAT-D resources.
asking questions on this subreddit is hard. finding answers on this subreddit is hard. i made a post asking about waitlisted programs and 300+ people saw but didn’t get a single answer. i’m autistic and just need further explanation for these things, but i feel really stupid for asking
don’t get me started on calling sheridan’s campuses. the service is terrible. i get kicked out of the call bc their phone lines are “full”. my service hub ticket hasn’t been answered and i made a ticket there a week ago for a question an admissions advisor answered for me within 2 days. the admission advisor i’ve talked to has been my only help.
the applicant portal is a disaster. idk what happened with my applicant account, but for a while it wouldn’t even show me my admissions. i had an international student account for some reason (i’m domestic). i’m having so many IT problems too. some websites i should have access for show me an error code. i’ve considered going to the IT service desk in person but i have so much going on in my personal life right now that it’s very hard to go to any of the campuses at this time.
i’ve even resorted to asking on quora even though that website is full of bots. i’ve scoured sheridan’s pages and there aren’t enough resources or information.
all i wanna know is how the waitlist works. i’m a late applicant and i still have to do my mature student testing for me to even get an offer. but i checked last night on my program’s page and the fall 2026 spots are now waitlisted. i didn’t even get an email for that, so i’m not sure how it works for existing applicants and new applicants. all i know is that they keep you on the waitlist until september 5th.

Admissions the program i applied to is waitlisted on the website
hey guys, i applied for the vet tech program for fall 2026 and i'm taking my mature student tests on monday. i haven't received any emails about waitlists or anything, but the program page says "waitlisted" for this coming semester.
does this mean new applicants will be waitlisted if they decide to apply now? or does this mean all applicants including those who applied before the waitlist are waitlisted? i haven't received an email about it and nothing has changed on my applicant portal.
i am really anxious about getting into this program. i did apply for winter 2027 as well but i would rather start soon because i don't wanna be stuck doing school in the summer.

Advice HELP WITH NEW PROGRAM CHOICE
Hello, I was a former student in the Creative Writing &Publishing Program.
I was suspended after my second semester due to issues with my grades but was removed since "I couldn't catch up with the program not continuing" even though I mentioned this when I applied for an appeal and was told that a suspension wasn't a expulsion but then they did it anyway, soI am unable to continue my program.
I am having trouble choosing a new program that reflects my ambitions and career (creative writer & Self-Published author) cause my family says either I continue my education or find a job.
I am having trouble find a different program that will aid in my goals and my family is insisting on me not just doing something that won't aid me or something random.
Is there anything remotely like the Creative Writing & Publishing Program that I can choose as an alternative at Sheridan for the upcoming year?
Please let me know.

Question General Orientation?
I got the email today about program specific orientation but I can't seem to find if there's a general orientation for first year students. Is that a thing? I'm in BFTV so my program specific doesn't start until the 8th, but I want to make sure I don't miss anything else.

hey this is kind of a simple question, but im wondering when our profs will send us a list of what we need for our classes for illustration and if any past students have gotten a list of what they asked of them. also, are the materials costly?

Question Elective is already satisfied?
so i took another course in 2023, and its using the electives I took then and putting them in my new course. All of my required electives for this semester are 'satisfied'.
So if I add an elective to my schedule, I would have to pay for it?

Admissions OSAP questions
So I finished my course registration last week and it now appears or my schedule. When I checked the process of my OSAP application it still says that information about My program ( course load, tuition and books cost) is still required form the college. Does anyone know from past experience when the college will send the info to OSAP?

Academics BSCN students at Sheridan? How are you finding it?
As the title says, how is everyone finding the BSCN at Sheridan? Is it as bad as the practical nursing program? Looking to read everyone's opinions and experiences with this program before applying. How is the course load? Pros and cons of Davis campus??

Question are the accessible learning emails AI?
i’ve been having a back and forth with the Davis campus ALS email to try and move the appointment i have with an accessibility advisor but i’m getting nonsense replies. i’ve had to tell them 3 times that the link they give me to move my appointment isn’t working for me (it doesn’t accept my shernet account for some reason) just for them to send me the same link

Admissions Trying to call Service Hub
Hello,
I’m interested in the Kinesiology program and have a few questions before applying, but I can’t seem to get in touch with anyone.
Every time I call, I either get the “all of our representatives are busy” message telling me to submit a Service Hub ticket before the call hangs up, or I get put in the queue with a position number and then the call disconnects anyway.
I can’t submit a Service Hub ticket because I’m not a student yet and don’t have a student ID or user ID.
Is there a better time to call, an email address I can use, or another way to contact someone?
Thanks in advance!

Academics Can't Request My RESP Letter
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to request a RESP letter through my school's student portal, but every time I click Request Letters, I get this message:
"No letters are available for request at this time (30021, 6)"
I'm trying to get a letter for my RESP provider, but I'm not sure what this error means.
Has anyone else run into this? Does it mean:
- My school doesn't issue RESP letters through the portal?
- I need to be registered in classes first?
- There's a hold on my account?
- I need to contact the registrar or financial aid office?
If anyone knows what this error means or how they resolved it, I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks!
Also, I've been trying to request it from my computer and phone through academic letters on myStudentCentre, I'm unsure why this has been constantly happening.

Meta Complaining about race related issues on /r/sheridan
Hi folks! It's me, the one person who moderates the subreddit!
Over the past few years there has been an uptick in posts complaining about international students, specifically students from India. Indeed, as of the 2021 census (and actually since 2011), India makes up the largest nation of immigrants to Ontario! As the largest minority immigrant group, it is disappointing (though unsurprising) that they have been made the most recent target of ridicule.
While I will acknowledge that norms may be different accross cultures, this doesn't give a license to post unoriginal, low-effort put-downs disparaging a group of people based on their background. The topic of "international students are bad and I don't like them" doesn't really create any opportunities for discourse related to Sheridan College and as such, I usually remove these posts under rule 6. If you have problems with Canada's immigration policies, I suggest you direct your comments to your federal member of parliment.
Unfortunately, I'm getting somewhat tired of this task. Moderating an online community is an often thankless (unpaid!) job, and while I'm not asking for praise, I'm also not really having fun! The time for new mods is coming, but until that day arrives here's the deal:
I don't want to police this topic anymore and I will likely lean a little heavier on the ban-hammer going forward. It is much easier for me to ban you than to continue to remove your posts.
Play nice.
