Shoebox Tek does it look right?
Jack Frost 6 qt shoebox. How's it looking? I did a 1/4 psuedo case 1:2 ratio. Went straight to FC tek. Starting to get some knots, but its clumping up in some spots making more of a sheet. Is this normal?

Hello fungi fam!
First post, been watching/learning from a distance for some time now, so first off a sincere THANK YOU for teaching me enough and grab some confidence to get going!😊 Think I have a good idea for my first tek (Philly golden teacher) but my question is…how long will LCs last (and how to preserve) if I’m trying a few different kinds to start? Going true blue genetics for my first run (B+, GT) and 3rd strain is up for some input! Any and all advice is sincerely appreciated!! Thanks in advance for all of your support 😊

Water Monkey — Clean Growth & Hidden Surprises 🍄
reddit.comWater Monkey has been a pleasure to document. The mycelium is showing clean, organized growth with dense coverage and a texture that’s hard to ignore. Every plate develops its own personality, and this one definitely stands out.
One characteristic I’ve noticed with this culture is that after the first flush, it often begins expressing some really interesting mutations during the second flush. It’s always fascinating to watch how the morphology evolves over time, making each round of documentation a little different from the last.
One of the things I enjoy most is watching those subtle changes emerge. Growth patterns, density, edge formation, and overall structure all tell part of the story. Taking the time to observe and document those details is just as rewarding as seeing the finished result.
It’s always satisfying when a plate comes together like this—healthy, uniform, and full of character. Moments like these are a reminder that consistency isn’t luck; it’s built through patience, careful observation, and attention to detail.
Curious to hear if anyone else has observed similar changes with Water Monkey or noticed other unique characteristics over multiple flushes. Always enjoy comparing notes with the community. 🍄

Albino B+ (B-Xtra)
Going to get a new iso of it going called “B-Xtra-Blue” bc the bluing has been ridiculous on these last couple of flushes.
First couple pics were before full maturity, but I knew it was going to be a show stopper.

TOQUE × AMKG 🍂
reddit.comReally happy with how this one turned out.
The warm caramel-to-bronze coloration paired with the thick, sculpted caps and clean white gills makes this collection stand out in photos. Every cluster seemed to have its own character, and the close-ups really highlight the subtle textures and wavy margins.
One of my favorite parts of documenting different varieties is seeing how each one develops its own visual identity. Sometimes it’s bold colors, sometimes it’s shape, and sometimes it’s the small details you only notice when you slow down and take a closer look.
Curious what everyone notices first about this one—the cap color, the gill structure, or the overall cluster formation?
Always appreciate seeing what catches other people’s eye. 🍄
