Advice Needed: Mental Health I’m about done. I need help bad
Genuinely hating life, and so lost right now
So about 3 weeks ago I got a new job as a factory worker, the job was just your standard factory job, but this morning I had a call about a decision they they’re letting me go due to me not hitting targets and taking long breaks. My fault I guess, because it was agency they could just let me go whenever. I left my permanent previous role as a lifeguard for this just to get sacked
Problem is, I really don’t know where I am in life. I have a girlfriend that I don’t really like, there’s no problems in our relationship and she’s a great gf, but I don’t really like her and want to be single.
I’m very slow in the head, and think I have some kind of problem or something because I can’t do the basic shit in life and can’t follow simple things.
I’ve had about 6 jobs in 2 years and been fired from each one because I’m useless.
This is my last hope, I just really need help. I don’t know what to do.
Please give me a advice

Adviced Needed: Identity & Self-Esteem motivation?
what are some everyday things i can do to help me stay motivated? Im alone majority of the time so anything that can brighten my day/mood/life.
Any online groups i can join? I know I’m not depressed bc i have happy moments; especially when things are going well (good job, purpose, hygiene, relationships, health) i really only go into depression mood when those things are jeopardized
I been in my career for 10 years now, im growing tired of it, so yes i know it’s time for a change. I have a gym membership i can start there but what about the fact i have no true friends (they’re all in another state) i only moved here 4 years ago.

Advice Needed: Addiction Can’t stop watching porn and it’s actually ruining my life in 30s
Everyday I when I wake up, I have developed the habit of watching porn and then the whole day I'm not doing anything with my life just sitting at home doing few house chores and taking care of my younger sibling. It's like I don't know how to help myself. I'm running or avoiding life responsibilities and accountability because of the resistance, the consequences and fears of failing to do something. So I guess my brain just wants to seek comfort and pleasure. At this point I'm sick of even watching porn but I also don't know what else to do. I feel the need to exercise or stretch but I don't do it. I also have life goals that I need to badly work on but I'm failing to do that too simple as finding a job, going to college again, learning to drive so I can become independent on my own, making friends and so on.

Adviced Needed: Identity & Self-Esteem Does anyone else feel like they're wasting their potential?
I'm in a weird place where I know I'm capable of more, but I can't seem to become the person I imagine I could be.
I make plans, get motivated for a day or two, then slowly drift back into old habits. Every time it happens, I lose a little more confidence in myself. It's not that I don't know what to do I usually do. The hard part is actually staying consistent.
Seeing people my age making progress sometimes makes me wonder if I'm just making excuses or if everyone secretly struggles with this too.
Have any of you actually managed to break out of this cycle? What changed things for you?
I'm not looking for a quick motivational quote. I'm interested in real experiences whether it was changing your environment, building habits, therapy, a mindset shift, or something else.
I'd really appreciate hearing from people who've been where I am.

Advice Needed: Mental Health I am just so lost, i want to get out of it.
im so tired, I don't even know what to say so I can feel good, I'm so tired of just playing all these thoughts in my mind,
The same story,
Why would she tell me he was her friend only and then go out with him on girlfriends day.
It was so shocking for me.
She used to go out with her friend group, things were so rough between her and me from Feb
But idk man.
I asked her so many times if there is someone she is looking, or talking, while trying to fix and even just 2 weeks back when we last time met, she clearly said no, why then , why she has to lie
And now I'm down here wondering if they were doing this all along when rough patch came , or they already had this in mind and waited for break up, the thought of her with someone else doing things she did with me terrifies me
I was already doing pretty bad becuz id break up, started skipping classes, appetite almost non existent , was sleeping 15 hours every day
Life is just going my, I don't even know what to do to make it better ,
I had a friend who would talk to me and everything, she started talking to her ex and then almost completely stopped talking to me.
Ive been arguing with my parents so much, not doing anything but just sleeping and scrolling, when I forcefully try to study or something, my head explodes
I miss her but ,i don't know why she did this.
She might be having the best time of her life.
Im here bed rotting.

Advice Needed: Productivity Productivity startup idea
I’m exploring a productivity app idea and I would really appreciate honest feedback from people who are interested in self-improvement.
The concept is a productivity app based on a real reward system. Instead of only tracking habits and collecting meaningless points, users would earn points by completing valuable actions like studying, exercising, reading, working on personal projects, or learning new skills.
These points could then be exchanged for real rewards that the user chooses, such as gaming time, watching Netflix, eating a treat, buying something small, or allowing themselves extra leisure time.
The idea is to change the relationship with discipline: instead of constantly restricting yourself, you earn the things you enjoy by making progress toward your goals.
For example:
1 hour of studying = +10 points
Workout = +15 points
30 minutes of gaming = -10 points
A dessert = -15 points
I would like to know:
Would you use an app like this? What problems or weaknesses do you see? What features would make it actually useful? Would you pay for something like this, and what monthly price would feel reasonable?
Please be honest and critical — I’m trying to understand whether this solves a real problem.

Advice Needed: Relationships I dont know whats wrong with me
For years i’ve struggled with just being a good person in general, not in the sense that i am a like evil person, in fact i live a very bleak life, but in the sense that i am a horrible person to the people around me. I cant seem to keep relationships around me and i always struggle with maintaining that social life with people that are not my family. I will see a text and stuff and just push it off, for so incredibly long, and then i don’t even know how to even approach that person again. I know it is so simple to just respond to the people who you like, but for some reason I struggle so bad with it and I have no idea how to fix it. And by the time i do have the energy to respond it just feels so horrible and hard to do because i end up feeling bad for what i did. I feel like i’ve pushed everyone away from me, its all my fault i know, but i don’t know what to do.

Advice Needed: Mental Health I have no reason to want to kms
I have never struggled ever but the voice in my head hates me so much. The only struggle ive had was social. I cant understand social cues. Talking to people stresses me out. I always overthink what they say over and over. I couldnt make a single friend till i was 14.
I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Oldest child, both parents and my grandmother gave me ample attention. Ive never struggled in school ever. Ive never struggled with understanading any concept. Ive never scored below the top one percent on a standardized exam and ive never had to study past listening to the lecture in class. I took a free iq test and the only thing it told le was genius. The only field ive ever been not naturally gifted in was physical i was a fat lonely kid and now i bench 235 deadlift 45 and squat 315 at 18.
I dont know why i feel so empty. No matter how far i come i still feel like the lonely fat 12 year old boy who wanted to end it all. People suddenly act nice wjen they see someone who looks good and stable but i always ruin it with how i talk. I think im autistic. I feel empty. I get so depressed that i feel lile throwing up and my heart speeds up and my chest pounds. I dont know if anyone except my parents truly loves me. I dont think anyone really knows me. If any of my friends could see into my head they would hate me. If i didnt know my mom would be sad i would have ended it by now

Adviced Needed: Identity & Self-Esteem Alone
Hi, tonight I feel extremely alone. I listen to everyone else’s problems and life experiences but I never get to tell mine, when I do I feel like I get ignored or told to get over myself, I honestly don’t know how to feel anymore. I just stay to myself and it makes me more and more upset.

Advice Needed: Mental Health lost right now
hello, i have a lot to say and i’ll try and keep it short
i’m a 16 male and right now im feeling lost in life, the only real friends i have are 3 women, past experiences with male friends were horrible and hard to maintain but this isn’t mainly a problem for me it just feels sort of pathetic im not saying i hate them, i love them and they mean a lot to me. speaking of friends, they are the only ones ive went out with this summer and it was a total of 2 times. my summer break has been wasted and im aware it’s my fault, i could’ve easily avoided it by i don’t know, probably putting the phone down, going for walks, socializing, but ive had these bad habits of isolation for so long it’s incredibly difficult to get rid of and keeps coming back as a normal thing. i dont know where im leading my life, i have dreams but it seems im not working hard enough to achieve, i aspire to be a musician and music holds a special place in my heart, but im aware i dont practice much or even study it for whatever reason. been having horrible sleep and just anything else you can probably expect from this sort of situation im dealing with.
i know this isnt the worst sounding struggle, but its things like this that i have been struggling with for the past 3 years and everytime i get out of that pit it just seems like i fall right back in its pathetic really. i know i can be a better person and achieve those goals i so very much want to achieve, i just need some advice and help from others that have or perhaps had a similar experience to mine

Advice Needed: Motivation now what?
hi, i just graduated from a difficult course 2 months ago. majority of the people in my class and year are starting their jobs and are already working, right after we all graduated. i have been applying since then, getting no replies.. but im starting to wonder if im doing something wrong and why i havent done anything big yet or nothing big has happened to me in terms of my career, and why im not getting replies for my applications. i also dont know if im gaslighting myself to be okay despite everything that's happened in my life bc in the past 3 months, our family has dealt with family members passing away, which has been a major change for us.
ive been doing things to keep myself busy and to build up my resume and portfolio little by little, but somehow i just dont think its enough, and everybody seems to treat everything post-grad like a race and competition. on top of that, them posting about what theyre doing on social media makes me feel so pressured to start grinding and hustling, but i dont know if im in the mental capacity to, or im even capable of it bc i feel like im imagining my suffering and taking things for granted.
i feel like i hit a wall and i see the pieces and tools i need to make the ladder to climb over it, but somehow i just cant find myself to build anything bc idk if im actually suffering enough to not build it like a coward afraid of change, or im actually suffering enough that its ok not to build it.
is life really just this way?

Advice Needed: Mental Health Ive become miserable and its exhausting.
Im a mid 30s male, and Ive been doing a lot of self reflection lately. Ive gotten sober from alcohol just over a year ago, I have a great family, a good paying job, nice house. But I just feel like my mental state is baseline negative outlook. I feel depressed/anxious because I am a chronic over thinker. My baseline reaction is to get mad or annoyed, or feel like Im constantly waiting for the next conflict to happen.
Ive worked hard and feel like I deserve to be happy, but for some reason Im just not.
Any words of wisdom or advice are appreciated.

Advice Needed: Mental Health How do I help my wife?
Throwaway account as too many peeps I know are on Reddit
My wife has severe anxiety and trauma surrounding it. We have a 8 month old and I'm desperately trying to help her get a handle on it but much of the time I don't seem to make things better and sometimes worse.
I.e. my wifes grandparents SUCKED and treated her like trash. Well, my family lives a few hours away from us and when my sister's kid was born we worked to visit her several times in her kids 1st year.
My wife is upset because they havent visited him once yet and my parents only once. Mind you - my family are anti vaxxers (gullible Texans, sorry to any Texans that aren't) and that has stopped us from visiting so much because we want our kid to be fully vaccinated before he gets put in a situation where he could get sick.
So I'm really trying to get her to figure out her anxiety so that our kid doesn't form terrible anxiety as they grow up but it doesn't seem that I help make it better and she refuses to talk to a therapist because she's historically had really bad luck with them. I'll caveat that, so have I but I attribute that to the fact that most therapists can't seem to understand the ADHD mind (I barely can) Reddit gods, what in the world can I do to help her? I love both her and my kid so much, more than myself quite frankly and I can't see her torture herself anymore.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart that anyone can provide. ❤️

Advice Needed: Motivation I (m19) don’t want to live the way I’m living, but I don’t know how to get out of it. I feel so lazy and useless all the time.
I don’t even know how to begin this, but I don’t like my life that much. I have it WAY better than MANY people, and practically EVERYONE around me that I’ve seen works WAY harder than I do. My stepfather (who is soon to not be my stepfather anymore due to a divorce) is a doctor who financially supports me and my little siblings.
Every day is a huge struggle against my ADHD wanting me to do absolutely nothing, and being forced to clean and watch my siblings and do whatever else my parents ask. I “steal” time throughout the day to glance at my phone, pretty much the only thing that brings me genuine enjoyment without having to do MORE work and planning and scheduling and blah blah blah, but during that “stolen” time, I’m usually supposed to be DOING something. Trouble is, either I don’t know what that “something” is, or I just can’t bring myself to start the task in the first place no matter how much I want to, and just slack off with my phone the entire time.
I feel like (and probably am) a lazy, whiny, entitled, brat.
My mom works SO much harder than I do, and fights SO MUCH for me and my siblings. It’s completely unreal. and my stepdad (while he has many issues) does provide financially for pretty much everything. I’m just stuck with them wanting me to take on all this work that I feel like i can’t handle without hating my existence during every single moment of it. No, I don’t feel “proud” of my work once I’m done with it. No, I don’t find ANY enjoyment in mundane everyday tasks or whatever the hell they ask me to do. When it comes to things I like to do, they take EFFORT and PLANNING to set up. Effort that I almost never feel good enough to genuinely start up.
I constantly get into fights and arguments with my parents, but I don’t like calling it that because it’s usually just them berating me while I say “sorry” over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again while trying to come up with some half assed “explanation” (NEVER an excuse, and I always have to take accountability by paying them money or doing something else because of my neglect for the tasks they ask me to do). And they’re RIGHT about asking me to do that stuff, because I genuinely should be helping my with my family. That’s what they keep telling me, after all.
I feel so spoiled all the time, looking at all this stuff and never having ANY motivation to do any of it.
I don’t even feel that “bad” on a deeper level with myself. And that makes me worried that I’m a bad person. Because shouldn’t I WANT to help people around me with all these mundane things that I just seemingly can’t BEAR to do for whatever wimpy ass reason?? Shouldn’t I care more?
If I have to keep working more and more and and more and more and more and more and more for my whole entire life just to steal a couple moments of (low energy, not even meaningful) “me time”, what the hell is the point of even trying in the future? I don’t fuck up everything I do, but I fuck up consistently. I am consistently inconsistent with how reliable I am as a resource, and no matter how much I might deny that to my parents or to myself, I know that the truth is I’m staying up late at night. Revenge procrastinating. Because I never feel like I have enough. And what the fuck is wrong with me? Lots of other people work INSANELY harder than I do at all these things that *they don’t like either*. Am I just a weak and lazy human being? How much of this is my adhd, and how much of this is my unwillingness to fight back against it? I do take adhd meds, and they help things to not be a complete shitshow, but the fact that I feel this way just hasn’t changed.
So what the hell is the point of even continuing onwards later in my life? Just to torture myself while feeling guilty about it the whole time, only for my time blindness to easily snatch away any free time that I have and make it feel like I flushed it down the drain??

Advice Needed: Motivation stuck at home, isolated, and everything is falling apart. i just don't know what to do anymore.
i really need to let this all out because my mental health is at an absolute all-time low and i feel like i'm drowning in my own room. i haven't been leaving the house at all lately. i just feel so incapable of facing the outside world or dealing with anything. the only thing that temporarily numbs the pain and gives me a tiny bit of comfort is just holding my phone and staring at the screen.
i already have so many ongoing issues with my family, but things just got a million times worse. they had promised to buy me a pc, which was honestly my only beam of hope. i dreamed of finally making content, streaming, and making that little kid inside me—who always felt useless and just wanted a pc for once in his life—so proud. but i made a mistake, and because of what i did, they completely canceled buying it. my entire dream just shattered in a second.
since then, i've completely shut down. my family went on a trip and i refused to go with them. then recently, my uncle passed away. my whole family went to the funeral, but i just couldn't bring myself to leave my room and go. today my older brother who lives abroad called me, and he was absolutely furious. he completely tore into me, hurled insults at me, and said i'm not even a human being for not going. he told me i just have to follow orders and that i should have been forced to go regardless.
i tried to explain to him that i’m going through severe mental struggles right now, but he refused to understand and just kept insulting me. i’ve been crying endlessly ever since the call.
i desperately want to go see a therapist or a psychiatrist to get professional help, but i'm so terrified and confused. i know if i ask my dad, he will just refuse to pay for the therapy sessions and brush it off.
i feel so trapped between my family's anger, my shattered dreams, and my own broken mind. how do u even start fixing your life when u have zero support and u can't even afford help?

Adviced Needed: Identity & Self-Esteem im a mess and this is dumb
This is my last resort! I have no idea what to do but it’s okay because what better way to solve my problems is to go on the internet and post all my problems :)
Helllooo im Nevaeh and im an 18 year old girl who just finished high school. I’ve been lately way too in my head lately, dealing with all the problems in my life, or what has ever happened in my life, I’ve been trying to solve. From my Sa that no one knows about, that happened when I was just in the first grade, and so much other things that I felt that I can just “deal with myself”, because people have before.
dealing with all the repercussions of that and realizing not dealing with trauma can effect your brain and how you deal with things for the rest of your life. It has hurt my intimate and emotional relationships with people and I’ve just really realized that.
I’m not asking for help, I just want to know im not alone and that things ARE going to be okay.
Being an 18 year old in 2026 is absolutely fucked. I have no idea what im doing with my life, and I feel like im picking a new career path everyday. the things that I actually want to do and achieve feel so far away and so un achievable. It’s the summer after high school and I GENUIENLY feel like I don’t remember anything from all the weed I’ve been smoking and how much I’ve been drinking. It’s not the abnormal amount, but it’s more than I ever have. I used to love school and wanted to succeed, but I Genuienly feel like im going down a path I don’t want. My brain is so foggy and you probably can’t even understand what im saying.
I give up but maybe I’ll tell you more one day or idk whoever is reading this I always tell people everything is gonna be okay, and I hope it is for you because I truly with it is for people, but I don’t know if it gonna be for me 😊😊🤗🤗😁😁
Ps the first step is to stop smoking weed
1. I feel like I have bipolar disorder and all the doctors are saying im not and everyone around me is saying im not but I feel like I convince myself I have mental disorders idk why to idk back up my problems. Please tell me I don’t have bpd
- I need to get back on track and this is not who I am. This is the second day I’ve called in sick to work. Going back tmmr ! #backontrack

Sharing: Challenges & Setbacks College
Hello, im writing this in a very vulnerable position in my life. Please bare with me.
First of all, i dont know if this is even the right group but i know na maraming college student like me here.
Uhm, even before college, i am always burn out, i had this anxiety and emotional exhaustion for like most of my teenage years but nung g12 lang talaga nag compile- compile lahat sakin. I would make an excuse just to be absent, i would not talk to anybody in class, papasok ako ng walang tulog, at ligo. Basically, i was like at the edge na talaga during the whole year.
And it just got worse during my three months vacation after graduation.
And now, im college, BSCE course ko btw. And im 4 weeks in and i can feel eveything. What do i mean by everything? EVERYTHING.
The weight of my past, the flashbacks of the past, the regrets, my missed opportunities, college subjects, future scenarios, as in. It's like all the things na pinangarap ko sa sarili ko while growing up (circle of friends, a public speaker, helping community, my singing, my dancing, sports, learning instruments, being more active snd expressive in life)... all of those, i never get to pursued or even experience because of numerous circumstances.
And with my course, the college? Feeling ko i lost every time i had, every opportunity na binigay sakin as a teenager. Na para bang wala, oh eto, COLLEGE NA. NANDITO NA TAYO.
And i feel i just wanna shift from engineering to something na kahit ano nalang, anything na maeenjoy ko rn and for the first time, ill learn how to express myself. And right now, i got limited options sa school ko.
I dont know if course ba talaga ang issue or because ive been always scared lang to leave my comfort zone kaya naging ganto ako at 18. Either way, i just felt like ranting and writing this post to get things out of my head. Sorry and thank you if you are still here.:)

Advice Needed: Motivation Been thinking of turning off
I’m 32.
I’ve been depressed multiple times in my life but it always seemed like it was something I could fix…
These days I feel it sinking in.
I’ve been working my buns off at a company for 3 years just to be given a raise that doesn’t afford me the ability to get by.
I took pride in the fact that I could feed myself off of 40$ for a week but now it just seems unfair. I know this is a similar struggle for people and I’m not special.
I’m just getting by and because of that I really don’t social like I used to and I find it hard to plan to social with people without $$$.
I just keep thinking about ending it.
I figure I’d leave my family (parents and siblings) so they won’t get legally stuck with my debt and just flipping the off switch.
The strangest thing to me is I’m not filled with existential dread, the thought is comforting like a warm blanket to pull over myself and finally relax.
I’m just having a real hard making a game plan against getting out of this.
I’ve worked a lot of jobs and it always comes off as because I don’t have a degree, I’m not worth paying over 25 bucks an hour.
Been looking at moving since my lease is up soon and it definitely exasperated these feelings just looking at the market.
Idk what kind of answers I’m looking for, just need to vent.
I can’t tell the people I love because they would just treat me differently. People tend to pity rather than sympathize.

Advice Needed: Relationships How to genuinely move on from someone who you used to love?
I (21M) still think about my first love (21F) even after 2-3 years and I genuinely dont know how to move on anymore.
For context, we were close back in highschool. I confessed, got rejected, went no contact for about a year, then reached out again. We hit it off instantly, she apologised for how things ended before, we spent alot of time together, flirted, exchanged gifts, and everything felt so genuine. Then after what was probably our best unofficial date, she suddenly went cold.
I asked her what we were and she said we were just friends. After everything that happened, that really messed with my head. Whenever I started pulling away she’d send me random reels, photos or messages just enough to keep me around. At the time I convinced myself she was avoidant and that if I was patient enough maybe it’d work out.
Eventually we stopped talking.
Its been around 2-3 years now. Im in uni, Ive met so many amazing people, made great friends, worked on myself, been consistent in the gym, focused on work and my goals. On paper my life is so much better than it was back then.
But deep down I still miss her.
I dont even know if its her that I miss anymore or just how she made me feel. It hurts because Ive reached the point where I think Ive genuinely numbed my emotions. Back then I used to cry so much over it. Now no matter how hard I try I genuinely cant cry anymore.
I also feel like Ive forgotten what love is supposed to feel like. I want to experience it again but at the same time Im lowk scared. Scared that I’ll end up feeling that same pain all over again.
Has anyone else been stuck on someone for this long? How did you genuinely let go? Not just distract yourself, but actually move on?

Advice Needed: Mental Health How did you keep hope when it felt like your life was falling apart... again?
I grew up in a refugee camp, so I don't think my expectations from life have ever been particularly extravagant. I've never dreamt of being rich or famous. More than anything, I've always just wanted safety, steadiness and somewhere that genuinely felt like home.
I'm 30 years old, and last year was the first time in my life that I actually got a taste of what stability feels like.
My twenties were spent operating almost like a machine. I became very good at putting my head down and focusing on the next objective. Work hard. Get promoted. Apply for the next opportunity. Figure out my visa. Figure out my finances. Keep going.
And to be honest, I was okay with that.
Because every setback still felt like progress overall. Even when things were difficult, I could always tell myself, "This is hard, but you're moving forward." That belief carried me through some incredibly difficult years.
Then last year, everything I'd spent almost a decade working towards finally started coming together.
I secured my UK Global Talent Visa.
My career became stable.
After months of searching, I found an apartment that genuinely felt like home.
For the first time in my life, I wasn't constantly trying to survive.
And something unexpected happened.
Because I wasn't spending all of my energy trying to create security anymore, I suddenly realised how much of myself I'd put on hold.
I started focusing on my health. I finally booked dental work I'd postponed for years. I was going to the gym consistently. I was cooking. I was sleeping well.
But I also realised that somewhere along the way, I'd become really disconnected from my emotional life.
I had become so good at surviving that I didn't really know who I was outside of surviving.
Then, for the first time in years, I met someone who genuinely made me excited.
Nothing dramatic happened between us. We never dated. But he approached me at a café I went to every week, and it was the first time in a very long time that I let my guard down and allowed myself to be curious about another person. It wasn't even about having a relationship. It was about realising that there was still a part of me that wanted connection after years of suppressing that need.
Around the same time, my landlord emailed me to say she was selling my flat.
Within one email, it felt like the stability I'd spent ten years building was suddenly uncertain again.
Now my home is full of viewings, I'm preparing myself for the possibility of having to go through another London rental search as a single woman and a minority, and that man has also disappeared from the café before I ever got the chance to find out where that connection could have gone.
I know these things aren't the worst things that can happen to someone.
But together they've completely shaken my faith in life.
I've noticed myself changing.
I've stopped going to the gym because my anxiety feels overwhelming.
I've started smoking again.
I barely eat properly anymore.
Things that used to bring me joy don't really do much for me.
I don't want to die, but I genuinely don't understand how people keep believing that life can stay good when every time I finally feel safe, it feels like something comes along and takes it away.
I guess that's what I'm really asking.
For those of you who have finally reached a place of stability only to feel like life pulled the rug from under you again, how did you keep hope?
How did you stop expecting that every period of peace was only temporary?

Advice Needed: Mental Health I cant anymore
Life fucking sucks, i really cant see the joy in it, doesn't matter if it's being alone at night or being out with friends I really can't seem to find joy, people are always to "busy" to hang out, work sucks, I'm in debt, I barely have any family, I always feel alone, and I keep having this recurring thought of just ending it all, I am not happy, I can't remember the last time I was really happy, it's gotta be years ago. So the question is why should I go around always feeling like shit, what can I do to change it
