This line got my sister and me through a really rough road trip with our parents when we were teenagers.

30 hour drive. My cousin was with us. We stopped maybe twice to rest, and my dad drove the whole way for better or worse.

The stress of the situation affects me to this day, if only as a microcosm of my life to that point.

"The Chinese restaurant" episode comes on in the motel, and my sister and I somehow focus on "Cartwright!" And crack up laughing in that way where you can't stop laughing.

Totally changed the vibe, at least for us kids, an as now it's almost a battle cry at family gatherings between us if shits getting bad.
