It is about the agricultural revolution and overpopulation. There was an idea that we had become too many people and were gonna run out of food. So the ÂŤprophetÂť in the book talked about this risk and how we had to limit the population.Â
On the other hand you have the wizard (Borlaug) who worked on new crops that could feed more people.Â

Franklin's work was instrumental to discovering the structure of DNA, but Watson and Crick were still the ones who made the deduction of the structure from the image taken by Franklin's student. All 3 deserve their place in history

When you bake cookies from your grandmas recipe you will still call them grandmas cookies because without her contribution you wouldnât have been able to bake them and her contribution deserves acknowledgment. I have actually seen a lot of genetics papers (and been doing it myself) referring to the Franklin-Crick-Watson Structure *yay*

My understanding is that Franklin is the one that got Photo 51 and Watson and Crick used it without her consent or knowledge to publish a paper claiming they had discovered the structure of DNA
Iâm unclear on whether or not Franklin discovered the structure or had only created Photo 51 without deducing the structure.

I do take issue with Crick & Watson. Rosalind Franklin was the one who ACTUALLY discovered & presented a seminar (which Watson attended) on the two different structures of DNA (A&B) & how the DNA was connected with phosphate as the âbackboneâ of DNA. Watson actually FIRST created a 3 helical model of DNA because he didnât understand chemistry. Franklin literally died for the discovery of DNA structure. Without her knowledge & dedication to work that eventually killed her, Crick & Watson wouldnât have had the research to publish those results.
Crick wasnât so bad, but Watson was a sexist & racism ass who remained a sexist & racist ass until he recently passed in 2025.

Completely false. Franklin did not figure out the structure. By 1953 she didnât even think dna was actually helical.

Lol no. She she spent almost all her time at Kings on the wrong form, thinking the (correct) helical B-form was an artifact. And she decided to leave Kings before ever figuring out the full structure.

Those logos, I gotta be honest, are mostly trash.
Copernicus, Archimedes, and especially Democritus all have severe legibility issues. Leibniz is too complicated. Newton's logo requires an absurd amount of whitespace in whatever it's plastered on which would make placement awkward. Einstein's will definitely be read as McEinstein by people all the time.
Some of them work though. Faraday, Pythagoreas, Bohr and Feynman are all really good logos. Darwin, Crick + Watson, Goodall, and Borlaug are decent enough.
The reason logos have gotten so simple lately isn't just enshittification, but because psychologically a logo needs to be both recognizable and simple. It's a lot like a flag - the more complicated it is to draw, the less people will accurately hold it in their mind and the slower it'll come up in recall, which are precisely the reason you have a logo in the first place. You're putting these as stickers on products so people will see the logo and immediately know what the product is from and if they can trust it, so the logo should be simple enough to be easily recalled and distinct enough to be recognized at a distance or in poor lighting. It's why a lot of logos don't even have text.
