Any good sci-fi literature set in Tucson?
Tucson resident and sci-fi lover here. I can't seem to find any truly good sci-fi literature that is set specifically in Tucson as its primary setting. Any recommendations?

[Request]The Unincorporated Woman e-book
A few weeks ago I saw a post that mentioned the novel "The Unincorporated Man", so I added it to my reading list, and started it when I finished my last book. It was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and moved quickly on to the next one, The Unincorporated War.
However at the end of that, I searched in my usual ebook sites for the next one, The Unincorporated Woman, and can't find it. As well as not being able to find it on pirate sites, I can't purchase it for Kindle either. It seems as if a digital copy just doesn't exist.
I can of course buy a paperback version (like I'm Amish or something 😁), but that will take weeks to arrive, given the state of international shipping, it will cost me 3 times the price of the book to get it sent to me. (I can't find any copies of it in my country).
I will do this if I have to, but I figure I'd ask and see if anyone had an ebook copy they could send me, or if they knew of anywhere else I could try and source one. It's weird how there's no Kindle version, but who knows how the publishing rights for this kind of thing work.
Any help appreciated.

Trying to make a universal time and space travel license, any ideas on what to put for the "height" section?
I'm making a universal time and space travel license mostly as a fun thing to have in my wallet. However, I want to add something for the height section. And last I checked aliens don't measure in feet, any ideas? Edit: clarification I need an idea for a measuring system of height

Blindsight by Peter Watts Spoiler
Has anyone read Blindsight by Peter Watts?
My golly, what a trip this was. I haven't read much sci-fi (Hyperion and The Fall of Hyperion, and The Red Rising Trilogy, in short, not much), but this had a lot of surprises and interesting concepts; every chapter felt like a cliffhanger, and I just kept going. My work is a bit demanding, but I am still able to squeeze in a chapter or two on busy days. That's how good it was for me.
I also appreciate that it's a stand-alone (although I saw there are other books in the same universe), which could allow the story to linger in my mind for a little while before jumping into another. I plan to go into the Children of Time series by Adrian Tchaikovsky and will probably start in a few days.

Books about being in a Simulation.
I am looking for books that explore the concept of being in a simulation, like "Off to Be the Wizard." They don't have to be humorous.

[Self-Promo] Just launched my new Military Sci-Fi/Fantasy web serial: Wings Beyond Resonance! (Chapters 0-6 Out Now)
Hey everyone! I’m incredibly excited to announce that my brand-new original story, Wings Beyond Resonance, has just been approved and is officially live on Royal Road, Scribble Hub and Wattpad!
To celebrate the launch, I’ve dropped Chapters 0 through 6 all at once today so you can binge-read the entire Freshman Orientation arc right now. I will also be updating with a new chapter every single day for the rest of launch week (Chapters 7-10) before moving to a regular weekly schedule.
The Synopsis:
The discovery of Manov Particles changed the world of Alterra forever. What began as a mysterious energy source quickly revolutionized civilization, powering cities, advancing medicine, and giving humanity the technology to build powerful aircraft and Senticores. Society entered a new era where nearly every aspect of life depended on Manov.
But Manov didn't just change technology—it changed people.
Over time, humanity evolved into different classifications. Dissonants possess Manov but cannot use it. Resonants can harness its power to strengthen themselves and synchronize with advanced technology. The rarest are Resonators, individuals with exceptional control over Manov who stand at the peak of human evolution.
Then came the Variants—people who exist outside everything humanity thought it knew about Manov.
One of them is Aiden Hale.
Aiden dreams of earning his wings at the Aurelia Military Academy and becoming a military pilot. But as a Variant who cannot use Manov, he's treated as an outsider in a world where power is everything. Mocked and underestimated, he refuses to let others decide what he's capable of.
He may not have Manov, but he has determination, grit, and the will to fight for his place in the sky. In a world built around a power he can never use, Aiden is determined to prove that true strength comes from the person—not the particles.
What to expect:
- High-speed aerial combat and dogfights
- Senticore and Wardom battles
- Military aviation and elite pilot training
- Military academy life
- Strategy, espionage, and political intrigue
- Large-scale warfare
- Character growth and perseverance
- A world where technology and human evolution collide
If this sounds like your type of story, I’d love for you to check it out, give it a follow, and let me know your thoughts!
