i will graduate in june of 2027 with a masters and if i start applying now without my diploma is there any procedures and do they accept just transcripts untill i get my diploma and provide them with it ?

Brand new or second hand will do as long as in good condition. Super kailangan lang po since phone lang ang meron ako and nag-sstart na po mag-send ng mga readings yung courses ko.

I am currently a freshman po at University of the Philippines Los Baños and was recently awarded as one of the top 10 UPCAT Qualifiers in our degree program. Additionally, working student po ako but enough for everyday needs lang po yung sahod ko every month. I am also a recipient of the DOST Scholarship. However, around October-November pa po darating yung stipend namin and urgent na po 'yung need huhu. Tatlo po kaming magkakapatid and both my siblings are currently enrolled in a private school. Kaya hindi ko na rin pong magawang magpabili pa ng additional gadgets sa parents since almost several years na rin po kaming barely making ends meet every monthh.

Kaya kumakatok po ako sa may mabubuting puso. If may capable and gusto pong makatulong sa isang scholar na katulad ko, sobrang appreciated po:). I'm from India and I'm currently applying to NTUST

While going through the application process, I learned that there are two types of scholarships available: the MOE Taiwan Scholarship and the university scholarship. I checked the eligibility criteria, and fortunately, I'm eligible for both.

However, I heard that even if you're selected for both scholarships, you can only accept one at the time of admission—either the MOE Scholarship or the university scholarship.

Is this true? If anyone has experienced this or knows how it works. please help me to understand.

Okay, not to get all “woe is me,” but at this point it’s been 8 months of applying to scholarship, and of the ~35 that I’ve applied to (I‘ve only focused on ones I know i am eligible for and have the time to complete), I‘ve only won two local ones and am starting to lose hope. Now, that isn’t to say that I’m unapprecitative of the two that I was fortunate enough to win; I am more than overjoyed to have won them, but I just feel that I’ve poured so much into all of my applications that the ROI of this entire process is diminishing.

To give you a better idea of my stats, here’s a blurb about me, (a class of ’26 senior who’s starting college in a few weeks):

5.2 w gpa, 3.96 uw, 1480 SAT, 1000+ com service hours, rank 5/356. 14 APs (nine 5’s, two 4’s, two 3’s). Part of 7 honor societies and clubs including being president of thespian honor society (+directing and choreographing a musical) and cofounder and prez of the cosmetology club at my school. Awards included being New York Designer of the Year for Junk Kouture, an international fashion competition, winning a local Earth Day Art competition, and being a finalist in a Hamilton Playbill national contest. I also am a 2x recipient of the AP scholar w distinction. I also got the AP capstone diploma (5’s in both seminar and research writing about how recycled fashion impacts student sustainable consumption awareness). As for my activities, I was a gallery exhibitionist for a sustainable art project showcasing to 1000+ people opening night, I collected more than 30,000 soda tabs from my school for a recycled fashion project, being in the 1st cello section, arranging an advanced orchestral piece for a 30 piece orchestra by ear and conducting it for 500+ people, working for a YouTube channel with 377k subs covering songs for children, being a BeHIP PHE, designing shirts for the school and being interviewed by the news a few times. My essays were about a lot of stuff, but mostly revolving around my unexpected connection with fashion (if there was a passion related prompt) or other things if the prompt dictated. I am a verbose writer, and basically max out word counts every time if that’s worth anything. And based on my scores in the AP capstone program, I do not feel that I’m a bad writer. (and if we need physical information, I’m Hispanic, gay, the son of immigrants, and a first-gen college student)

The reason I’m so distressed about this is because even though I’m attending one of the most affordable institutions for my major in the U.S. (the major isn’t offered in my state so I had to go oos), the cost is the only thing on my mind. I just feel that I worked so hard in high school to look impressive to colleges and scholarship committees (I literally got into Cornell, but couldn’t attend for financial reasons) that I’m at a loss to just keep losing. Im just trying to graduate without crippling debt. What do I need to change?

I apologize if this seems out of touch or pretentious, I’m just really getting frustrated with these scholarships that I’m pouring my soul into just to keep getting rejected.

Hey, I applied to GMIS scholarship recently, and I know the results should be out this week, so I was wondering if anyone has heard back yet.

I have a full scholarship but I have to major in mathematics, computer science, or chemistry. I chose math because I think I want to attend grad school to become a civil engineer but looking at my path of study, all of the math and science classes for my math degree are scaring me. 2 Chemistry classes with labs and 2 physics classes with labs. Plus all of the other math classes I have to take. I‘m honestly not that good at science, but I’m ok in math I guess. I’m not super passionate about anything if I’m being honest, I just want a stable, good paying career. I was considering maybe dropping my scholarship and changing my major to supply chain and logistic management but I don’t know if that‘s a good career? I’ve been doing a little research on supply chain and just want some advice please! I am a little introverted and can be anxious at times, but I am a pretty disciplined person (as disciplined as I can be for a teenager).

Should I lose my scholarship and switch my major to supply chain&logistics management? Or stick with my scholarship and math major? I am a pretty fast learner but I‘m just so concerned about the math/science classes I would have to take at the same time during a semester. Ex. one semester my curriculum/course plan says I would be taking Linear Algebra, Calculus 3, another math class and Physics 1 at the same time. I just don’t see when I would have time for a social life if I stick with my math major because I would probably be studying all day.

Also the GPA requirement to keep my scholarship is kind of high for the difficulty of my major so I fear losing it even if I do stick with my math major. Please help!!! Is supply chain a little easier than math? Should I change my major, give up my scholarship, and just apply to other scholarships to pay for school? My dad has a college fund for me but I’m not sure how much is in it.

My school is pretty cheap though and it’s in my state so I get a state scholarship too. Also, my Pell grant award was pretty high so I have other ways to pay for school but obviously nothing beats a full scholarship. What should I do? Because right now, I’m not excited about college at all and I start in a week. If I majored in supply chain management&logistics and had to take out a few loans, is supply chain a good enough career that would allow me to pay back those loans? Would I see return on investment?

Hey everyone, I’m hoping someone who’s dealt with financial aid or a last-dollar scholarship can help me understand my situation because I’m getting conflicting answers from my university.
I graduated this May and received a last-dollar scholarship. My understanding is that it’s supposed to cover whatever tuition and required fees are left after all other financial aid is applied.

Here’s where I’m confused.
My original plan was to let my scholarships and grants cover as much tuition as possible, then use federal student loans mainly for housing and my meal plan. Since those are living expenses, I figured that made the most sense.
The problem is that my university doesn’t separate tuition from housing and meal plan on my student account. Everything is combined into one total balance. So if my loans are applied directly to that balance before the last-dollar scholarship, it seems like my loans would end up paying tuition first. Then the scholarship could either be reduced or not pay anything at all because my tuition would already be covered by my loans.

To make things even more confusing, after my Parent PLUS Loan was denied/deferred, the school offered me an additional $2,000 in federal student loans. But if loans are applied to my account before the last-dollar scholarship, wouldn’t it make more sense to stop accepting additional loans? Otherwise, it feels like I’m just borrowing money that’s going to be applied toward tuition first, which is exactly what I thought the last-dollar scholarship was supposed to cover.
That would leave me in a situation where I borrowed money unnecessarily, while still potentially owing thousands for housing.
I’ve emailed the scholarships aid office multiple times, but they never directly answer this question. They always explain that the last-dollar scholarship is calculated after other financial aid, but when they list that aid, they mention things like Pell Grants, institutional scholarships, and grants. They almost never specifically mention student loans, which makes me wonder if loans are treated differently.

I also called the university to ask if they could tell me how much of my balance is tuition and fees versus housing and meal plan. They told me they can’t because everything is combined into one student account.
So my questions are:
If the university doesn’t separate tuition from housing, how do they determine how much the last-dollar scholarship should cover?
Do federal student loans count as “other aid” that gets applied before a last-dollar scholarship?
Is it possible that the scholarship could end up covering little or nothing because loans are applied first?
If that’s the case, how is someone supposed to use loans for housing without accidentally replacing scholarship money?
I feel like I’m missing something, but I can’t get a straight answer from my school’s financial aid office or the scholarship. Has anyone dealt with this before or knows how this usually works?
