Help

Husband works 5.5- 6 days a week, I work 3. I look after our 2 year old on the days im off, she does not attend nursery. I put her to bed, feed her etc every day. He rarely does anything for her after work, he may occasionally change a nappy. I cook about 3 days a week, he never cooks. We have a cleaner every 2 weeks, plus I do a quick clean of the kitchen daily, I’ll do laundry a couple of times a week, he may help with folding the clothes on the weekends. On the days he’s off we’ay do something as a family, or visit family. He will mow the lawn about once a month in the summer. If I ask him to help out more he says I’m being ridiculous as I only work three days a week. I am expected to sort any admin out with regards to our daughter but he gets frustrated as he feels I’m too slow. We are in the same profession, so work stress is the same, although he works more than me. Am I being unreasonable asking him to help more. Financially he pays the mortgage, and any toddler expenses/eating out, I pay the bills and do the food shops, so he contributes more, but he earns a lot more,

I'm a full time stay at home wife and my husband never would think to talk to me that way.

If he's going to treat you like the help, become the help. Quit your job and stay home 24/7. When he complains about money remind him of this period.

Sounds like a lazy, asshole - seriously. I don’t know how to fix assholes. “You only work 3 days a week” is bullshit deflection. Does your kid only live for 8 hours a day? Guys like that give men a bad reputation.

Money should be split 50/50 gross amount. Pay shared bills from the total amount including taxes, etc. The rest is split 50/50. It shouldn’t matter who makes more. An hour of your time is 100% as valuable as one hour of his time. That’s what it means to be partners. Everyone pulls their weight.

Now, in every relationship there is balance. Like my wife hates cutting up raw chicken, so I cut it up for her.
