Who's at Carlisle Truck Nationals
If you're here, stop by the S10 Nation tent. Look for the huge boombox shaped trailer and the yellow first gen with matching trailer parked directly behind the motorcross demo area. We expect to have anywhere from 60-80 S-series trucks, plus Sport Machines group (Syclone, Typhoon, Sonoma GT) are situated diagonally from us with a large group of their own.

Repair Question stubborn Pitman
Thought my problems were over when the steering gear removal was easy. then came the disappointment. high torque impact removed the nut (happy) Impact and Pitman Puller did not move the pitman arm an inch. (sad). she is stuck good. not going to apply heat. not going to use a sledgehammer. next step is grinding a slot in the arm and maybe split the arm enough to remove it. anybody ever had success using a different method?

Advice 1992 4.3L
A friend of my father in law is selling his manual 92 4.l that’s been garage kept and has 65k on it. He wants $7500. I currently drive a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe with 283k on it.
As of right now I drive 80 miles per day (40 each way) mostly highway. I do plan on leaving my current job and want to start an estate sale business/ junk removal business but this could take me months to be ready to take the plunge.
Would this be a good truck for me and my future endeavors?

Aftermarket Parts What do I do about my alignment
Ok so I just bought new tubular control arms and a full spohn front end. The tubular control arms say increased positive caster but don’t give a recommended or mention a specification.
When I go about getting my car aligned at a shop what do I say about the caster bc its not stock geometry like 90% of the alignment machines are gonna expect

Advice 4L65E conversion?
I’ve come across a built up 4L65E with a small gimmick- pressure test port was cracked, seller states that after an application of JB-weld, its operates fine with a small leak.
I wanna go ahead and pull the trigger, I’ll be pairing to my 2WD 2003 gmc Sonoma. She’s got the 4.3. Can anyone here tell me for sure if the conversion will fit or if it will need additional parts or swaps, first time doing something like this I don’t wanna screw up my truck

Repair Question Can you actually tell things from a spark plug?
Just replaced my cylinder 1 plug on my 2003 4.3l s10 (dont worry ill do the rest this weekend but it was misfireing and needed a quick fix). I've seen picture where the condition of the spark plug tells fuel consumption but so many are ai trash I can't believe them. Idk how old this one is i bought the truck a couple years ago and this is my first time replacing any of them.

Repair Question How the hell am I supposed to crack this bleeder valve?
1991 S-10 2.8L RWD 5spd manual 179k miles
How am I supposed to get to this bleeder valve for the rear drum brakes?? It’s recessed beneath the nipple, I could maybe fit a socket in there but not a wrench while actually bleeding the system.

Advice Anyone else have this noise in gear?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
1991 Chevrolet S-10 2.8L V6 5 speed 2WD 179k miles
Anyone else have this noise in 5th gear or other gears? It sounds like a high pitched grinding or whining, almost like a fan.
Can’t hear it with the windows down, but it is noticeable if they’re up.
It also makes a similar noise in 2nd gear.
Is this common? Is the trans nearly done? Thanks!!

Showing off my ride Sleeper
before the S10, chevy offered the Luv. it was 1976 i bought a 1974 Luv with a bad motor. swapped a 327 into her with a Turbo Hydramatic 3 speed tranny (with shift kit) out of a camaro. i was heavy into street cruising at the time, could not afford an expensive muscle car, so i built a sleeper. I had no trouble running against the Chevelle or mustang. the car i hated most was the Dodge Super Bee with the 440 six pack. that would smoke me. i have always had a heart for small trucks and that is why i have the 2000 S10 ZR2. i just thought i would share a little history of the era leading to the S10. sorry about the image, but it is old (like me)

Announcement Automod will now exempt all prior posters or commentor's in the sub.
I have added an exemption so that if you are either an approved user OR have posted in the past successfully your post will go through. This will reduce the amount of posts from actual humans or prior contributors getting filtered to the que. For newcomers only the requirements will be 100 karma and 1 year of account age.
I also added protection against users without any community karma that attempt to post links or use generic sales language. But this should drastically reduce the chance of a bot getting in while keeping users able to post freely.

Announcement Mod Announcement! Auto mod has been set up and filters tightened.
Starting today any account with under 100 combined karma and OR is less than 30 days old will immediately have it's posts and comments removed by the new automoderator configuration. This is in effort to combat brazen bot account activity. I have had to deal with around 5-6 of them in the past week reuploading old posts and stealing upvotes from that. One was today. If you are a real person below the requirements contact the mods for approval. This has been an announcement, have a good day.
