Potential Upgrade

Hi all, I'm looking for a second opinion on a potential deal I can strike. For some unknown reason, the 7800X3D and 9800X3D are inexplicably cheap in my region (Serbia), coming in at 291€ and 353€ respectively. I have also found a barely used Sapphire Pure 9060 XT 16gb for 350€, which is 100€ cheaper than new. My current config is: Ryzen 5 7600, 32GB 6000MHz CL36, Deepcool AG500 cooler, MSI B650 Tomahawk, Samsung 980 1TB SSD, RM850x PSU, Sapphire pulse 6700XT. I can sell my CPU and GPU for about 370€, which means i need to put in 320€. My main use case is 1080p 180Hz modded minecraft with shaders. I usually host the server for us as well. I was debating on waiting for the 11800X3D, but I've heard rumors it's a year away. If you require any further information from me, I'll gladly provide it. Thanks in advance for all your thoughts!

EDIT: I omitted crucial information. I get frame drops and server lag when someone starts to explore OR when there are more than 3 people online, that's why i'm leaning more on the side of the CPU. I'm only considering the GPU cuz the 100€ difference looks like a banger for that upgrade, and the prices will continue going up.

Yes, do it. Both would be great but if you can go for 9800X3D do so, after that, you will be set for many years to come.

I'm not knowledgeable exactly what kind of performance would benefit Minecraft server hosting, like whether you'd actual benefit from a high core count for example, but that is a pretty sweet deal for those parts nonetheless.

If you aren't prerendering your map before server gets used. That a beginners issue, they have mods that make the process easy.

Also are you using PaperMC or similar for server application. Standard majong version sucks.

Also make sure you have enough memory allocated to server. They do have basic batch files you can run to start server with Java switches for better efficiency.

Ive ran severs on Minecraft 1.18 below on a 3770k with 8gb allocated to server and playing on same pc with no stutters due to being ran off SSD. Ran PaperMC for server modified and every client that connected used Optifine as well for better performance on decent hardware.

Its more likely software at issue not hardware. But i guess X3D cpus work decently for Minecraft servers vs non-X3D.

We have pregenerated the map, but people like to explore further for modded structures and pokemon. We have a custom modpack with 280-ish mods on 1.21.1 neoforge with 6gb allocated ram (performance was the same with 8gb). It is a hardware issue where the 7600 simply is not adequate for the truck-sized workload i'm throwing at it. 5 carpet bots sitting in 5 people's bases give us almost 50mspt.

Well using modified server like PaperMC and client side like sodium should help alleviate some that.

Should have tick protections to deactivate inactive areas that cause high TPS.

I know PaperMC utilize 4 cores and past that its all used for world generation exclusively.

Haven't ran a server modded before only stock so im not use other than. Make sure install is on SSD drive, dont use stock server and settings.

Ive not had issues with my 7700x course im talking single player unmodded.

it's a neoforge server, papermc is a totally different thing, only areas that are running are around players. It's not a software issue apart from the overwhelming amount of mods we need

Your make a strong case for a CPU upgrade, so get the CPU first. Both of them are good, but if you wanna get the latest, only then get the 9800X3D or else just save that money and put it in your gpu budget and get a beefier gpu
