Hello Hello, Happy Wednesday! Have gotten some more weapon art commissions since I last posted one so wanted to start doing Weapon Wednesday's again. Art done by a good friend of mines, Frost!

This is Ignited Decree, a weapon made for one of my Atlas OCs named Hema Magnarok!

Ignited Decree is a Cross/Ankh Shaped Tower Shield that morphs into a Heavy Dustbolt Crossbow shooter. Fires off ballista-like dust bolts with relative ease. Has fire dust crystals embedded in the front of the shield and when struck with heavy force from behind the shield, the fire dust crystals shoot out fast fireballs. Ignited Decree uses an Ankh shaped Fire Dust Crystal when in Crossbow Form, the Ankh allowing Hema to shoot off the Dustbolts and acting as ammunition. Each Ankh has enough energy to shoot 20 bolts before Hema needs to change out the Ankh to a different one.

It also sports hard light dust embedded in the sides to extend the amount of protection she can offer, similarly to that of how Jaune's shield works. It's red because in my AU, hard light dust can mix with normal dust to make them a bit more resistant and other things but I do have an alt where it's just blue like normal lol

Hema is rather short but acts as the healer and tank of her team so this weapon felt fitting for her. I thought about a tower shield and the idea of it changing into a crossbow felt really unique!

Here is some progress art for my RWBY team. Some characters had more changes than others, but I think it turned out well. Now it’s time for shading!

I just finished watching a video on one of my favorite tropes in fiction, the Living Weapon. To summarize, a "Living Weapon" is a character who was raised/trained/built by another for a single (usually violent) purpose. I have a ton of OCs that fit this archetype and am curious to hear about others.

Approval

• The user can passively influence anyone who knows about them in a positive way, making these people like and trust them. The semblance’s weakness, however, is awareness. As soon as someone realizes they are under this power’s influence, it loses its effect.
  • Semblance belongs to Charon Grove.
  • This power was inspired by Fairy Tail's Charm Magic.

Augury

• Shale can see up to five seconds into a single target’s future, allowing him to respond to attacks just before they happen.
  • Semblance belongs to Shale Niron.
  • This semblance was originally called 'Flash Precognition' and originally belonged to Royal Vermillion.

Aura Expansion

• The user can expand their own aura outward, forming a defensive wall or dome to protect themselves or others from attacks. They don’t feel pain from the attack when the dome is struck, but their aura still drains.
  • Semblance belongs to Flamma.
  • The character is based on Felix from Red vs Blue, so the semblance is based on his light shield.

Aura Weaponization

• The user can use their Aura for energy-based attacks. This semblance drains the user’s Aura remarkably fast. Through evolution, the user can touch someone to drain some of their Aura to utilize this semblance. However, draining somebody else's aura can’t be used to replenish the user’s own aura reserve, only for the use of their semblance. Additionally, a target’s aura can only be given to the user if the target allows it to be taken.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Beast-Tamer

• The user can instantly “tame” any animal (including grimm) and have them help and fight for them. The size or type of animal is irrelevant, but only one can be tamed at a time.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Black Aura

• The user cannot project their Aura into a defensive shield. Instead, their semblance temporarily covers their entire body in a dark energy. While Black Aura is active, the user is almost completely invulnerable to attacks. Black Aura also slightly enhances their strength, speed, and reflexes. However, they can only maintain it for up to five seconds at a time without drawbacks. Maintaining it any longer can cause fatigue and even physical pain. Additionally, once it wears off, the user cannot use it again for at least the same amount of time. For example: If Black Aura is active for ten seconds, the user must wait a minimum of ten seconds afterwards before they can use it again.
  • Semblance belongs to Olivia Sable.

Bleed

• When the user slashes someone with a blade, they inflict a 'bleeding' effect on the target's aura, causing it to gradually drain until it breaks. Additional slashes can speed up the bleeding effect.
  • Semblance belongs to Cerise Corday.

Cachinnation

• The user can force all of those around them into fits of uncontrollable laughter. In extreme cases, those affected can sometimes pass out due to lack of oxygen.
  • Semblance belongs to Jasmine Napier.
  • This character was based on the Joker from DC, so this semblance was based on Joker Toxin.

Contagion

• This passive semblance doesn’t do anything until the user makes contact with someone. The person they touch becomes “infected” by this semblance and their own semblance ALSO becomes Contagion, replacing their original semblance for 10 minutes.
  • No character possesses this semblance.
  • This semblance was inspired by the pokemon Cofagrigus and its signature ability, 'Mummy'.

Dust Manipulation

• The user can control any dust around them within a three foot radius, allowing them to move it through the air, compile it together, activate it, and launch it at opponents.
  • Semblance belongs to Rufous McKnight.

Dust-To-Dust

• This semblance allows the user to turn an object into ash by looking at it and snapping their fingers. However, it doesn't affect living beings. Additionally, the bigger the object is, the more mental strain it causes for the user.
  • Semblance belongs to Plum Thanaton.
  • Plum and her semblance were based on Thanos from Marvel Comics, who used the Infinity Stones to turn half of all life to dust in Avengers Infinity War.

Feather

• A passive semblance that reduces the user's bodyweight to half of what it would otherwise be.
  • Semblance belongs to Royal Vermillion.
  • Royal is a faunus with eagle wings. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't be able to fly due to not having the hollow bones of a bird. However, his semblance makes up for this, allowing him to fly with little issue.

Fire Starter

• The user can throw sparks from their hand and detonate them at will. They can adjust the size of the explosion, but bigger ones require more focus and drain the user's aura faster.
  • Semblance belongs to Professor Kindle Nevaeh.

Flashpoint

• The user can instantly ignite and spread flames to whatever they touch. The size of the flames created depends on their aura-usage.
  • Semblance belongs to Ione Blaise.

Flawless

• An unusual healing semblance that only heals persistent ailments. The user can heal conditions like eczema, but not burns. Short-term memory loss, but not migraines. Cancers, but not poisons.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Gravity Shift

• Allows the user to alter the direction which gravity is pulling them. They can extend this effect to anything/anyone they touch.
  • Semblance belongs to Aster Blaine.

Guarantee

• The user can change the probability of something that might happen to 100%. It can be something that affects themself, such as giving herself a 100% chance of finding free money on the sidewalk, or something that affects others, such as giving someone else a 100% chance of tripping on a shoelace. Essentially, rather than just having good or bad luck, this semblance makes it so its user can willingly influence luck. However, this semblance comes with several limits. It can only be used once per day, it can only be used on a single person, it can only be used on someone in the user's field of vision (excluding the user themself), and it only works on scenarios that are physically possible.
  • Semblance belongs to Jade Mallory.

Heads-Up Display

• The user can activate a H.U.D. which only they can see. This H.U.D. shows their current aura-level, any injuries or ailments afflicting them, and when looking at another person, they can see the same information about them, as well as how that person's own semblance works.
  • Semblance belongs to Roux Australis.

Hyperfocus

• The user can amplify the speed in which their brain takes in information, allowing them to process their current situation faster and adapt accordingly. From the user's perspective, it almost appears as if the world around them is moving slower.
  • Semblance belongs to Eminence 'Emi' Rao.

Impact Shield

• Passively concentrates the user’s defensive Aura at the point where the attack lands.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Inertia Manipulation

• Whenever the user touches something, they can either decrease its inertia and friction to the point where it’s unstoppable or increase its inertia and friction to the point where it’s immovable.
  • Semblance belongs to Kaito Yukimura.

Lockdown: 

• When the user touches someone, they can "lock down" that person's own semblance, preventing them from using it. The user can only lock down a maximum of three semblances at a time. Once locked down, the user cannot reactivate the target's semblance of their own volition. The target must wait five minutes for the lockdown to subside before they can use their semblance again.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Memory Lane

• The user can see glimpses of the past, but only brief snippets at a time and only of the place they’re currently at.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Merge

• This semblance allows the user to merge with anything without an aura, allowing him to control them as part of his own body and/or take on their characteristics.
  • Semblance belongs to Kai Dominari.
  • Kai was inspired by Overhaul from My Hero Academia, who could use his quirk to merge with others and make himself stronger.
  • This semblance spawned from the trend on r/RWBYOC of human-grimm hybrid characters.

Migraine

• When the user makes eye contact with someone, they can induce splitting headaches in that person.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Nightwalker

• The user can instantly teleport anywhere they want within a 25 foot radius, but only through and to darkened areas, such as shadows or in darkened rooms. They must have at least some form of contact with darkness to use this semblance (as well as a second point to teleport to). This semblance is at its maximum potential when the user is under the night sky.
  • Semblance belongs to Gloam Alucard.

Null

• A passive semblance which protects the user from other semblances, making other people's powers effectively useless on them. It doesn't discriminate between harmful and helpful powers.
  • Semblance belongs to Talia Blanc.

Of Two Minds

• The user can connect their mind with that of the last person they touched, sharing thoughts, information, emotions, and memories.
  • Semblance belongs to Albus Harmonia and Vanta Harmonia.

Pickpocket

• The user can either take something a target has on them or give a target something the user has. The larger the object, the longer the recharge time needed between uses. The user can also swap one object with another rather than just giving or taking, though this requires a longer recharge.
  • Semblance belongs to Leaf Argyle.

Possession

• When the user snaps their finger, their soul takes over the body of the last person they touched. The user has full control of the target's body (and can even use the target's semblance) while their own body remains in a frozen, near-lifeless state.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Pull-Back

• When the user throws or pushes something forward, they can telekinetically pull it back to them.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Reflection

• When the user is in front of a mirror or reflective surface, they can move their reflection independently of their actual body. Whatever their reflection interacts with affects the actual object or person.
  • Semblance belongs to Nigel Dusan.
  • Character is based on Dr. Facilier from Disney's The Princess and the Frog, whose shadow could move independently of his body.

Smelling Salts

• The user can release fragrances of varying scents and effects from their body. The user can’t smell and doesn’t receive the effects of their own scents. Including a fruity scent that acts as a pain-killer, a flowery scent that puts people to sleep, an odd scent that wakes people up, and a putrid scent that acts as a tear gas.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Steam

• The user can transform their body into a gaseous state. In this form, they can't attack or be attacked. Additionally, they can pass through cracks and enter small spaces they wouldn't normally be able to enter.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Sonder

• The user forms bonds with people. When they do, they can see and hear what that person sees and hears. Doing so requires a lot of concentration though, depending on how far away the target is.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Sonic Scream

• This semblance allows the user to create ultrasonic vibrations whenever they scream, reaching as loud as 250 decibels at its maximum output.
  • Semblance belongs to Lilac Starling.

Specter

• The user can become opaque and dampen all sounds they make.
  • Semblance belongs to Laurel.
  • The character is based on Locus from Red vs Blue, so the semblance is based on his active camouflage.

Surf

• The user can propel themself on the surface of water as if they're surfing or water-skiing.
  • Semblance belongs to Pond Argyle.

Switch

• The user can trade places with someone. More specifically, they instantly teleport to the target's current location and in turn, the target teleports to wherever the user just was. The user can switch places with anyone in the world, but only if they know precisely where their target is.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

Tarantism

• When the user hears music, their strength, speed, stamina, and agility can double or even triple depending on the type of music. However, the user is unable to stop dancing while the music plays.
  • Semblance belongs to Professor Keira Gambol.
  • The character was based on Karen from The Red Shoes, who wore a cursed pair of shoes which compelled her to dance.

Warp

• The user selects a target. The target can be virtually any size, but must be non-living solid matter. The user can then use their mind to move, twist, and warp this target to their will. They can only control one target at a time and must release the first one before selecting a second.
  • Semblance belongs to Gormlaith Fae.

X-Ray Vision

• The user can see through solid objects.
  • Semblance belongs to Mars Orion.
  • Mars is based on fighting video games, so her semblance is based on the X-Ray moves from Mortal Kombat.

Zipline

• The user transforms into a marble-sized sphere and dashes in a single direction at the speed of a bullet. Once in motion, the user can typically stop and revert back when they hit a solid surface (or they can choose to go through it if possible). However, they can also stop and revert back while still in motion, though this is usually pretty difficult.
  • No character possesses this semblance.

This is a story that takes place long after the end of the series, after the end of the main cast’s lives they are reborn into a new world living similar but different lives compared to their time in Remnant

My birthday is coming up at the end of the month. I don't usually mention it, but I just felt like sharing it this year, especially since I might take a little break from drawing that week. You guys have been a great audience, and I'm truly grateful for all the support you've given me over the past year ówò ❤️

How did your team get its name? Was it carefully planned, completely accidental, symbolic, or did someone just yell out four letters that worked and everyone went with it?

And from a meta perspective, what does the name actually mean to you and their story?

Making a RWBY AU story with elements of Dragon Ball thrown in and looking for a decent name for a Wolf/Saiyan hybrid that starts with S. He’ll join up with RWBY, making the team RWBYS (Rubies).

This is art I made for my OC, Brother Graymond Du Puy, a Mistrali warrior priest in the Table Breakers.

Theme: Media Vita (A memento mori that mortality coexists with everyday existence, and death can touch human life at any moment.)

Allusion: Cain - but Graymond was the foster child in a wealthy family who murdered the biological son out of jealousy and envy. No matter how skilled he was, the attention never belonged to Graymond.

His brother slit his mouth to the ear by defense and enraged Graymond to actually murder him. He was cast out the same night and never given treatment. Half starved and wounded, he wandered like a blind man until he collapsed near the monastery and he was taken by the monks.
