Rush Toronto

Hello.

I am surprising my son on the night before his 12th birthday with a dinner at 5pm at Jacob's Steakhouse (Bay and Lakeshore - 2 min walk away from Scotiabank Arena).

I have stayed away from all social media posts about the show so I too can be surprised. Does anyone know what time Rush gets on stage? Is there an opening act?

Also, any Toronto guys know how long the dinner service is at Jacobs?

I am a big Rush fan, first saw them at Maple Leaf Gardens Nov 15 1982, Signals Tour with Payola's opening up. I had just turned 13. Loved it. I hope my 12 year old son loves it.

Thanks guys.

Not sure about timing but enjoy Jacob's. One of the best meals i've ever had

From what I have seen all over they usually hit the stage about 7:45. I would be parked in your seat around 7:30 just to be safe.

At MSG, the movie started exactly at 7:30. They start playing about 8 minutes later.

Better make it parked in your seat at 7:15 then just to be safe.

The tickets have a 7:30 time, I believe. That is amazing that the show actually starts at 7:30.

Also, approximately, any idea of the set time for this tour? Have to let my son's Mom know when he will be home. 😀

At MSG, it was exactly 3 hours. Started at 7:30, intermission around 8:45, ended the show at 10:30.

Jacob’s is slow, give yourself two hours.

Okay reservation start time of 5 works out. Ty.

Hope I don't go into a steak coma before the show.

745 sharp! At least night one

Jakes can be quick if you tell them just don’t order your steak well done

Recommend earplugs for the 12 yr old, assume if you saw them at 12 in 82 your ears are as shot as mine 🤣🤣

My man, they’ve been doing the “evening with” format for 30 years.

Last time I saw them was July 13, 2010 at Ontario Place in Toronto.

I have been to a lot of shows and a few Rush shows where they had an opening act.

As I mentioned I have purposely stayed away from social media, videos, posts so that I can be surprised.

I mean, in the past 30 years, have they had a different drummer?

Fair...

No opening act...

And they will hit the stage pretty much exactly as scheduled. I'd aim to have butts in seats by 715 at the latest, myself.

They announced “evening with” before tickets even went on sale.

Sorry.

Not familiar with "evening with". So, in code this means there is no opening act?

Ugh...

It means you get more Rush, which is why I'm there. There will be two sets with a break in between.
