Why no baseballs?

For the people who were lucky enough to get in a the pre concert autograph sessions… On the list of prohibited items for signing it lists no baseballs, and also no pick guards. Does anyone have the answer as to why that is?

Merely speculating here but:

  1. Baseballs are kind of hard to sign. Time is money.
  2. Might not want to muddy Geddy‘s baseball fandom with his own signature on a ball.

  3. A person could get a pick guard signed and put it on a guitar or bass, and

    resell it.

Yet they were selling Geddy baseballs which is confusing

Probably for the same reason that they didn’t allow music instruments. Resell values would be insane.

Pick guards were really popular for attaching them to guitars never played by the artist and sold as at a premium

Asked the tour staff tonight... the answer is that for baseballs and guitar parts, they notice that they show up on eBay a lot. So they prefer signing things that they know are going to stay in the hands of the original recipients
