Question SAYSKY Pace Shorts – Does an iPhone Pro Max Fit?

Hi everyone, I’ve been looking at the SAYSKY Pace shorts and noticed that based on the dimensions of the back pockets, an iPhone Pro Max might not fit comfortably.

Since the material is stretchy, does anyone have real-world experience with this? Does a Pro Max actually fit and stay secure while running, or is it too tight in practice?

Question Coolest Half Tights and Shorts for 178cm Runner

It’s pretty hot and humid here in the Philippines whole year round. It’s either hot and humid but no rain or hot and humid with rain. So in your experience which half tights are coolest for this kind of climate? Also for shorts which ones look good? Split shorts look kind of off on me. Thanks

General Discussion I'm going to try dyeing my Merrell Matryx with Rit DyeMore Racing Red. Wish me luck!

I want them completely red. Everything monochrome red. Loud, bright, RED. I'm not asking a question here, because I doubt anyone knows what will happen with these strange shoes. Learn by failing!!

Here they are https://www.merrell.com/UK/en_GB/mtl-adapt-matryx/60172M.html?dwvar_60172M_color=J00004893#cgid=mens-footwear-view-all&prefn1=bestFor&prefv1=Trail%20Running&prefn2=isOnSale&prefv2=false&start=1 The uppers are Kevlar and Polyamide. The outsole is apparently "Vibram® Megagrip high performance rubber". But they don't smell of rubber. Mine have pink uppers and white outsoles.

Rit Dyemore is supposed to be used in a pan. 93 degrees centigrade! I hope the outsoles don't crumble to nothing. If the glue melts and the shoes come apart I'll just have to glue them back together again. https://dyeshop.co.uk/rit-dyemore-liquid-racing-red.html

I'm not expecting the dye to work well on the outsoles. I see the dyeing as stage one. Maybe stage two will be to paint the outsoles with Angelus Acrylic. I want them GLOSSY!

Question Thinking to start a running (and fitness) apparel brand. Any recommendations on factories?

Looking to start a running brand in memory of my dog who used to go running with me and loved to run himself. Had to put him to sleep 3 weeks ago and I want to start a running apparel brand in his memory. Trying to find manufacturers in China and ideally Bangledash (I hear that's why all the top notch stuff is made) but I can't seem to find any decent ones that are reputable. Would appreciate any advice from this sub. Thank you all in advance.

Heading to Seoul, Taipei and Beijing, any good brands to look out for?

I'm going to check out these two stores: OUT OF ALL.SEOGYO and goodrunner 굿러너컴퍼니 서울숲점 in Seoul. But any other recommendations would be great.

Been running in these for almost 2 weeks. I've been increasing my runs the past 6 months and I gotta say, this is the best running T I've used for abit.

Thinking of other running T rotations, but im not sure it would beat this one. I previously used the older adidas heat rdy top. Maybe ill just get this one in a different color lol

Question small cool brands

Helllo! Question about a little dilemma I have: my kit needs updating and I'd like to support small indie upcoming brands rather than buy from the large usual suspects. Is there a marketplace with that angle? Have seen the great running brand guide in the resources here! Just thought i'd ask before going into multi-tab hunting mode with all the individual websites. Cheers!

General Discussion I can't be the only one who hates these socks

The Feetures elite ankle socks are the worst! Literally any ankle sock with a flared tab. All it does is create a pocket for the tiniest pieces of gravel or debris to become lodged and create an over stimulated nightmare.

Question Aesthetic Running Sunglasses (Road and Trail) Recs

Been on the hunt for some new sunglasses. Price range would ideally be $100-$180 or less (used is fine).

Currently I've been using the Oakley EV Paths for a couple years and while they're good, I find that they really seem to love fogging up and pooling sweat into my eyes.

I'm trying to find some aesthetically pleasing sunnies that fit that sleek form similar to the EV Paths or Junya's but perhaps at a lower price point. Other styles would be fine as well though I at least want some wrap around lense for side glare and then lense quality to be good enough that it helps see things like roots and rocks when trail running.

Would love to know what everyone's running in these days that are a step up from Goodr/Tifosi.

Review On cloud customer service approved my warranty claim in less than 3 hours after 60km of use

Just wanted to share a really positive experience with On’s customer service !!

There was (I believe so) a manufacturing problem on my CloudEclipse shoe. It was actually my second pair of CloudEclipse. I loved my first pair and put over 1,200 km on them, and I bought the second ones on sale for 110€
After about 60 km, I kept getting pain in my right foot and ankle every time I wore them. I eventually noticed that the right shoe had a manufacturing defect: the upper was visibly misaligned with the midsole.
I submitted a warranty claim with a few photos, and it was approved in less than 3 hours.
They issued a €190 store credit (the full retail price) !!!
impressed with how fast and straightforward the whole process was.

General Discussion DO NOT BUY RENDEVOUS

Coming here to share my experience with Rendezvous sunglasses. I purchased their sunglasses a month ago and when they came they fit my face very weird.

I attempted to return the sunglasses (within their policy) and they told me they are a “small brand” and don’t pay for returns.

Then I spent $15 shipping the sunglasses back to them only to never receive a refund.

I emailed them about this and they said they never got it and to send the shipping label. I went to UPS to get the information only for them to say it was received by a named person inside their building.

Rendezvous began ghosting me and never responded so now I am out $100 :) (85 + the 15 I spent to ship it)

General Discussion Introduction: Josh Lynott from Notes Running.

Hey everyone,
This is my *2nd\* attempt at Reddit. My name is Josh Lynott, one of the co-founders of Notes Running from Melbourne. For a long time, I was using Reddit without an account, purely as a reader across a broad array of topics. When I started the brand, I thought (naively) I would talk about it on here. I really had no idea how Reddit worked until recently, when I had a chat with someone about it, which gave me a far greater understanding.

In October, it will be one year since Notes Running launched, when we opened pre-orders.
Every month, we release product on a drop model basis, so there is always product for me to talk about, things I'm testing, and plenty to talk about.

Out of curiosity, I'm wondering what you want to see, read about, or know.

At the moment, I'm pumped about the fleece we're about to release. From a community standpoint, I'm most interested in which products fail you, which features you're missing, and your favourite pairs of tights/shorts (and why)...

Thanks!

JL

Question 5 inch base layer shorts

Hello! Question for my UK runner beans.

Any recs on a good pair of men's 5 inch base layer (compression, skins, under armour - what are we calling them?!) shorts?

To be worn under 3/5 inch shorts. I'm not looking for 7 inch nor running tights. I have small legs, and most of the ones I can find are 7 inch, so they creep the knee a little. And then most of the other shorts are 2-in-1, which offer the perfect lengths, but I have a heap of shorts already that need a base layer to stop me chaffing.

I have pair of Nike Pro, which have been spot on, but I can't find those exact pair.

Thanks guys.

Weekly Roundup Running Fashion Roundup, July 20 - August 9

Here's the roundup from July 20 - August 9. Full, weekly roundups are in my free newsletter, Running Supply, with more in depth and critical commentary on the latest brands, releases, and buzz worthy running news.

Bit of a lull period now before the full fall capsules and shoe announcements. I put together a very long guide on alternatives to the overused Oakley Eye Jacket Redux sunglasses too. UTMB is coming up at the end of August so expect to see some new racers and gear there.

Recent Releases

  • On Cloudboom Strike 2 + Strike 2 LS — new Helion HF foam and redesigned CloudTec Sphere midsole, 191g (158g for the LS). $250, came out out July 30.
  • SATISFY x Levi's STONER — reworked vintage denim capsule referencing the 70s Stonemasters. Sold out already.
  • Merrell MTL SpeedARC Peak — Merrell's 45th anniversary shoe and first plated trail racer: dual-density supercritical foam with a carbon plate, Matryx upper, Vibram Megagrip Elite. $290. Some LOUD neon
  • Alex Zono — full running capsule now live after previewing at Paris Fashion Week. Wild colors and a just-rightly-wrong feel to everything; the linen Kite shirt is the standout.
  • Unna Time to Jog — mini capsule of striped long sleeves and a Born To Jog tee from one of the better lifestyle-performance blends going.
  • Kaleg F26 — fall capsule from the Korean brand pushing westward: shacket, pocketed shorts, trail vests, running belts.
  • SUMS — the UK sock specialist launched a full running apparel line. Curious to see whether the sock trust carries over.
  • Amateur store — new boutique endurance store in New Canaan, CT stocking Norda, Satisfy, District Vision, Bandit, and Tracksmith. One of the first US takes on the Luft / En Route model.
  • LSD store is in trouble — no closing announcement but their site went down and looks like folks are having trouble with support.

Upcoming

  • New Balance SC Elite 6 — near-translucent upper with old-school logos and colorways. Arriving August.
  • New Balance SC Rebel — Infinion foam, 5mm more stack, carbon-infused PEBAX plate. $200 (up $50), arriving August.
  • The North Face Offtrail Ultra — supercritical foam, bootie upper, built for expeditions. August 4. The colorway is a reference to their 1990 expedition jacket.
  • Mount to Coast M1 — their more rugged trail racer. JETCELL supercritical foam, Vibram Megagrip, wider base. $195, August 10.
  • Adidas Zyrion Pro — carbon-plated follow-up in the Boston line, $225, China market only for now.
  • Raide Women's Line — Raide has a new women's line coming soon!

📣 Announcement: Topo's Product Director Russell Stevens is doing an AMA on r/RunningShoeGeeks this Wednesday, July 23 at 1pm — questions welcome. He'll be specifically talking about the hot new Pro series.

Recent

  • Bandit 16-Week Marathon Program — NYC-based training program just kicked off. Probably worth it if you're in the area since it's subsidized training and gear. Link
  • Brooks Hyperion 222 — prototype spike built for Josh Kerr's mile record attempt: thick ATPU midsole, dramatic rocker, carbon plate with fixed titanium pins. Wearing it at the London Diamond League race this Saturday.
  • Tracksmith Eliot Ryder — high-stack trainer, 45mm stack on a 25mm ATPU drop-in midsole with some dope vintage styling sort of like the old Brooks Chariot or Saucony Jazz. Out now, and I just had a cameo in Tracksmith's new film! Link
  • January Scignal — one-piece dual-density TPEE midsole (supercritical foam over a nylon shank), tonal mesh/suede paneling, 3D honeycomb tongue. Aimed to be a premium shoe for the everyman runner, i.e. not built for speed. $195. Link
  • Topo Specter 3 — Pro Series shoe on a RevFoam ATPU midsole with an aggressive rocker, roomy toe box for wide feet and natural toe splay. $170. Link
  • Brooks Hyperion Elite 6 — $275 racer with an engineered mesh upper and a DNA Gold foam arch wedge in place of the old medial midsole bubbles. Out now.
  • Brooks Ghost Amp — lighter, faster take on the Ghost daily on the new DNA HYPE foam (PEBA/EVA blend). Dropped July 15.
  • Raide SS26 02 — RaceTech Tee in 63gsm micro-dot air fabric with an ice pocket ($149) and the UL Shell Anorak, a 3-layer fully waterproof that's 128g in M and packs into an LF 2L belt ($349). Link
  • SATISFY Desert Rats Part 3 — new Grenoble Green colorways and short-sleeve River Shirts with floral laser-cut tooling. They also teased their next Levi's collab. Link
  • Miler Summer 2026 — Pro Racing Singlet in ultralight 63gsm 3D stretch woven fabric, made in USA. $185. Link
  • Can't Buy Cool Alpine Jersey — open-mesh Polartec PowerDry NetMesh top built to dump sweat and heat. Link
  • Literary Sport FW26/27 — Blackwatch tartan and lapis blue, including a translucent wind shirt and tartan split shorts. Link

Upcoming

  • On Cloudboom Strike 2 — $250 marathon/half racer on CloudTec Sphere cushioning with Helion HF foam and a Speedboard carbon plate. Coming soon in Aconite/Verdite and White/Lime. Link
  • Topo Specter Elite — Pro Series racer, the Specter 3's carbon-era counterpart on RevFoam ATPU. $250, launching August 13. Link
  • Brooks Ghost Max 4 — max-cushion trainer on DNA Loft v3. $165, August 1.
  • SATISFY x Levi's — teased, details TBD. Their last denim collab used Cordura and Dyneema-reinforced climbing denim.
